40.
Adrian & Jaxon.
Happiness.
"Are you ready?" Jax asked his mate through their bond since they were in separate places, wedding customs according to Sanya and Renee, Ari being the submissive couldn't see Jax until it was time and he was standing at the altar. "Is anyone ever ready for the day they get married." Ari chortled back as his nerves soothed out and he breathed deep, calming himself. "I thought so, you're nervous, —you get snarky and wise when you're nervous." Jax pointed out and Ari just smiled, of course he would know how he felt, he was the love of his life and they were getting married today.
"Don't worry my love, no one but me will be waiting for you at the altar, we haven't come this far just to come this far, —I want to spend the rest of my life with you, so help me Goddess even if we have to elope and get married on the run because of another silly tradition, we'll do it, because you're the only person that matters." Jax reassured Ari, and he finally felt himself relax, Jax's words alone had given him peace, Jax would never not be there, he'll always be there, for him, for their children, always. "Thank you my love, I needed to hear that." Ari whispered his response, a smile tugging at his lips. "Always, —always for you." Jax reassured just as Lizzie walked into the room. "Okay enough, you can talk to Jax after aunt and I are done with your make up, I know you miss him but he's only been away for a day." She announced as Ari just simmered down his connection to Jax so he could pay attention to Lizzie and her rant.
"So get it over with, I can't wait to see Jax, I miss him, and the kids miss him too." Ari retorted and Renee snickered walking into the large room with Sonia next to him. "How would you know when he was with them an hour ago, Jax is on his way to the venue, which means, it's time for you aswell, to get there and dazzle people with just how beautiful you are, and since it's a private event, you don't have to worry so much about unwanted intruders." Renee exclaimed as Ari in his fitted white suit stood up, his slightly heeled black shoes fitting his form perfectly, Sonia came forward and placed a golden veil over his face, it had a center piece jewel and several other embedded pieces. "It's a family heirloom, but mother decided to gift it, to you." Sonia explained as she slightly hugged Ari after placing it on him and covering his face.
"Now for the cape, your wedding dress would've had a grand train, but since you went with a suit, fitted to your design, we opted for a long, —I mean ridiculously long train, it's absolutely perfect." Renee gushed over excitedly as Lizzie helped Ari put the cape on his shoulders, as the one getting married Ari could have denied the whole cape but since Renee wanted it and bribed him with a lot of babysitting hours, he agreed but that's not the main reason, the main reason was simpler, Ari wanted to follow tradition, even if it weighed a ton, because his parents wanted it and besides, he'd change into something less form fitting later.
"Perfect, —you're ready, and just in time, Johnny says they've arrived." Leticia, Enzo's mother announced by the door as she looked at Ari in awe. The Guthrie family had settled in well in Greeneway bay, over the short period they had been around and neighbors to Ari and his family, they had adapted rather easily, blended into the background like any normal mystic family, of course they had a rough start like any family would but they got their groove and were now alright, the girls, Enzo's sisters were going to school, Enzo's dad got a job and his mother now worked at the cafe as a weekend manager, and she helped with baby sitting for local parents during the week, an idea she got from Johnny, which turned out great.
They were now part of the family, and flourishing well. "Great, come on everyone, my sons need to get married!" Renee announced as he led the way with a blinding smile inturn making Ari smile, the day was perfect. As they all got into the cars, Ari was with Sonia and Renee in the back whilst Lizzie was up front. "The elders were thrilled when we told them that Jax wanted to get married on pack lands." Renee asserted as they began the drive. "They would be, they hadn't expected Jax to actually be comfortable with the idea of getting married there, he knew nothing of them and they knew nothing of him, it would be surprising, —but he is their leader, their guide and Ari is his mate, no where else would've been better for their wedding." Sonia replied in a reassuring tone as Ari just smiled.
He'd never seen his wedding going this way, it was always a small gathering, somewhere in Japan, under a dozen blooming trees, but sometimes things don't go as planned so you have to compromise and besides the new pack lands of the kitsune clan was actually a better venue than he'd actually hoped, and he got free decorating rights, which meant with a little magic, he could've easily turned it into whatever he wanted, which he did, all he had to do now, was show up and actually get married to the man he'd loved and always would love. "You ready?" Elizabeth asked as the driver parked, they had reached their destination and those calm nerves turned into razor winged butterflies.
"Hey, it's okay, —everyone is right here with you." Renee assured as Ari held on to him. "I thought I wouldn't be this nervous." Ari chortled making Renee snicker. "I remember my wedding day, despite how prepared I was, how ready I was, —I was still a nervous wreck, so it's okay, its normal to feel this way, just remember, at the end of the carpet, right at that altar is a man waiting and ready for you, to give you his life, his soul, his everything, because you're his everything, —so it's okay." Renee had helped, Ari didn't feel so gut wrenching nervous anymore, he felt alright, Jax was there, he held him up when he fell and always would be there.
So the witch breathed deep and nodded to his dad, he was ready. "There you go sweetie, —now, let's dazzle them." Sonia exclaimed as they all got out of the car and walked on the paved walkway into the woods, right beyond the trees were the guests, Jax was there at the altar, so was Sanya, who was officiating. "Boys, take your places!" Lizzie whisper yelled as she made her way to the altar along with Sonia and Renee, as Nik, Johnny and Enzo stood by Jax as his groomsmen. "You okay sweetheart?" The patriarch asked as he finally stood by Ari and it caused his eyes to water. "Did you really think I'd let another man walk you down this aisle, or have you do it by yourself, you're my heart, and I'd never let another man take that honour from me." He asserted in his low baritone and Ari smiled trying to hold back the tears.
"I'm glad you're here granpa." Ari replied as he hooked his hand over the wolf's arm. "Rather be no where else poppy." The large man reassured as everyone finally stood up to witness Ari walk, Renee snapped his fingers and the white cape unfurled and fluttered in the air as Ari took his first steps mesmerizing everyone, so they walked, with everyone giving Ari bright smiles, from his cousin River with his family, Roman and his mate who had actually moved to the bay early in the year, doctor Charlton and her companion, a lot of the guests were very close people to Ari and Jax, along with the kitsune pack, there was a guest mingled in with the rest who was keeping a low profile but his presence was undeniable, Skyler had actually come, only just for the day so he could celebrate with Ari and Jax, which Ari was grateful for, it meant a lot to him.
The boys had dropped the flowers beautifully as they parted for Ari to finally stand at the altar but the patriarch wouldn't let go of Ari's hand, and everyone understood, any man who had loved Adrian much like a father would've had a hard time letting go, it's why Nik had decided not to walk Ari down the aisle, he wouldn't have let go but he had to intervene this time, so he left his position next to Jax and walked to where Ari and his grandfather were. "It's time to let him go, you have to." He coaxed, as the large wolf shed a few tears, and so did everyone around them, it was sad as it was beautiful. Ari nodded reassuringly, he would be okay and finally Nik took the patriarch's hand and held it whilst Ari smiled reassuringly before turning and walking toward Jax, this was it.
Jaxon & Adrian
He looked breathtaking, from the moment he walked out of the woods, to the point where he stood in front of him, everything about him gave Jax peace, a kind of warm feeling that made Jax want to hold him and not let go, he was everything he would ever want, and nothing would ever change that because Ari was his all. "You look beautiful." Jax whispered as Ari just smiled with tears in his eyes. "We are all gathered here to witness the union of Adrian Brooke and Jaxon Milford, I don't have time for objectors so moving on." Sanya announced causing everyone to laugh, she was a hoot. "Could you please take this a little seriously." Jax deadpanned. "Not now child, Adrian has already outshined all of us, now we just need to liberate him from that cape." She retorted and Ari only wanted to face palm, Godess she was a lot.
"They have prepared their own vows, so please Jax go ahead." She finally got serious as Jax cleared his throat. "Adrian when we first met, I thought I'd never be able to talk to you again, you were admittedly stunning but no one else saw that, and you were currently on a job, so how would I tell you anything, I saw you again in a different circumstance and I got guts to actually work up my way to stay in your life, since then, it hasn't been an easy road, we've faced a lot of trials and a lot of challenges, but I've always overcome them because you were by my side, you were there loving me, protecting me and making sure I knew I was enough." Jax breathed, with a smile finding his words.
" I knew I was loved, and you never faltered, in each of those days, I fell in love with you even more so than before, my body, my mind, my soul, it is yours, so I vow to protect you and our children like you protect us, to love you and cherish you each day like you do, I vow to reassure you in the good times and in the bad, that you're all I will ever need, and there is nothing in this world I wouldn't do to show you and make you feel my deserved love for you." Jax finished as Ari was already in tears, struggling to hold them back.
"Jax, I don't have a lot honestly, and I could never really say much after your proclamation —." Everyone chuckled and so did Ari. "You're the father of my children, my care taker, we met under not so great circumstances honestly, but I couldn't help wanting you, wanting to get to know you, I went out of my way in a lot of things just to make sure you were close, and for some reason it made me feel complete and happy, but I knew just getting close wasn't enough, not for me, I wanted you to know about what I felt, how I felt, maybe I should've realized then, that I had found my mate, but it doesn't matter, your love for me keeps me going on the days I can't stand waking up, your patience and your strength keep me protected from even my own worst impulses and that in itself assures me that I'll never need another." Ari sighed finally gathering himself.
"Because you're my one, my only one, I would gladly give you the world if you asked, give up everything just to be with you, because you loved me when I had and was nothing until I found my own worth, and even now you've given me a family, one that I cherish always, so I vow to love you Jaxon, in all the good and the bad, to respect you and honor you as the man who will build our home and protect us." Ari finished as everyone finally had their eyes filled with tears, even Sanya.
"Do you Jaxon, take Adrian as your lawfully wedded husband under the Goddesses grace, to love in sickness and in health, through trials and grace, in this life, and the next?" Sanya asked as Mark walked forward giving the ring meant for Ari to Jax. "I do." He replied as he slipped it on. "And do you Adrian, take Jaxon as your lawfully wedded husband under the Goddesses grace, to love, in sickness and in health, through trials and grace, —in this life and the next?" She aksed again. "I do." Ari replied as he slipped on Jax's ring. "Then I now pronounce you married, you may kiss your husband." She concluded and Jax lifted Ari's veil, he didn't waste time as he snaked his arms around Adrian's waist and pulled him in for a kiss, one that earned a lot of cheers, howls, wolf whistles and even ululating from their small crowd of guests.
"Everyone, mister and mister Milford!" Sanya announced as everyone still cheered after the couple parted and they walked away, past the clearing, and the woods to the pitched up tent they would take a breather in.
The Wedding Reception.
with maybe Johnny.
The wedding had been spectacular, the people, the couple, everything was just right, it was a happy moment and not just for Ari and Jaxon but for Jonathan too, he had always wanted someone just right for Adrian, but since he never had time to actually have a life of his own, Johhnny wondered if ever Ari was going to find the one, but now worries and doubts were gone, Adrian was happy, and currently having his first dance with his husband, they looked so good together it was hard to miss, and it brought a smile to his face.
"You okay standing in the background whilst everyone dances?" Skyler asked as he had walked up to Johnny near the arranged tables. "I haven't found a man with guts enough to actually ask me for a dance since my mate is terrifying." Johnny chortled as he and Skyler both laughed. "May I, then?" The green haired witch asked with a smile and Johnny indulged him right then. "So I won't read your emotions, I want to know how you are, after everything that happened?" Johnny asked as they slow danced and Skyler breathed deep. "I'm still finding my way, getting stronger and still learning how to come to terms with everything that happened especially with Mikhail, the process is gradual but I can honestly say that I'm healing." He replied genuinely and Johnny smiled happily.
"I'm glad you finally found your stride uncle Skyler, and I hope you won't be a total stranger after this." Johnny put across lightly making the witch chuckle. "I hope I won't disappoint myself but I'll try not to be and I know, if I ever need help, I'll call." He assured and Johnny nodded gratefully, as they parted Johnny knew it was time, Skyler had to disappear again. "Don't worry, I'll give him your love." He told Sky sincerely who nodded gratefully. "Thank you Johnny, for everything you've done, its helped me find my way and I couldn't be more grateful." Sky exclaimed hugging the wolf who just chuckled leaning more into the hug. "You deserve better and I'm glad you know that now." Johnny retorted as he let go gently and Skyler slowly vanished.
"He's gone." The patriarch stated and Johnny nodded whilst the much bigger wolf offered his hand for a dance. "He's doing alright, despite everything that happened, he's gotten extremely better, you would be proud of him." Johnny replied knowing how the patriarch felt about his son Skyler. "Of course you would know, and of course you wouldbe wise, I'm glad if anyone is succeeding me, it's you, I should've told you sooner, but with your graduation, the Guthrie's and the wedding along with the kitsune pack, things have been hectic." The wolf asserted as he dipped Johnny, who stood upright with a chuckle. "You don't have to apologize grandfather, I've known for a while now." Jonathan finally admitted it, he knew he was the next patriarch, it was evident in the way his will over all other mystics was apparent not just wolves.
"How did you know?" Johhny senior asked. "Elizabeth and Adrian aren't the only ones who can see the ancestors you know, and besides, my will is different from everyone, only similar to yours and I passed the totem trial." He quipped back surprising the patriarch. "I didn't even know the trial took place." He asserts in shock making Jax laugh again. "It was just me and the totem, it said I needed to be ready for when the time came." Johnny finally confessed and the patriarch smiled happily, pulling him into a hug. "Oh my boy, you've got no idea how happy I am to hear that." He himself confessed as Johnny just smiled and cherished the hug. "You'll be a great leader one day." The older wolf spoke as he let go of Johnny. "I know, I have a long way to go before I can even match up to those two." The younger wolf replied as both of them turned to look at the newly weds, they looked happy and content, Johnny looked to Enzo who was a few paces away from him and smiled, one day, that would be them.
As the night went on Ari found himself dancing with Johnny, both men had smiles from ear to ear. "Finally you can claim him anywhere." Johnny teased making Ari laugh. "Hadn't I already done that." Ari quipped back making them both laugh as they danced to the rhythm. "So when is the honeymoon?" Johnny asked his brother who hummed. "Next year, the wedding was so close to the festive season and I don't want to spend the holidays away from you guys, the children, Lizzie, the Guthrie's are all looking forward to it, so Jax and I decided to go on our honeymoon next year, and the babies will be able to travel then." Ari explained as Johnny just giddily nodded and hugged Ari.
"I'm so happy for you, happy that finally you'll have someone by your side, for the rest of your life, you can stop worrying about us now, I have Enzo, the whole family, Martin and Mark have all of us, it's time you just live your life, we'll be okay." Johnny reassured and Ari sniffled holding back his tears. "Are you saying you don't need me anymore?" Ari teased. "No, —we'll always need you, no one can kick bad guy ass and look fabulous at the same time like you do and besides, our parents would be a mess without you, so would all of us." Jonathan exclaimed as he hugged Ari who chuckled lowly. "You're all hopeless without me." He added and Johnny raised his hands. "I'm not denying it, ever." He asserted making both men laugh.
"Can I have my husband for a moment?" Jax asked as Johnny gave over Ari to the tall brute, the two of them made their way out of the reception hall which was still under construction but had worked, Jax was holding their sons as they made it out outside with the moon shining above them. "I thought you would enjoy the fresh breeze, and a not fussing Archie." The kistune stated as Ari just smiled and accepted his baby witch into his arms who snuggled into the crook of his neck. "I love you." Jax muttered. "And I love you and nothing in this world will ever change that." Ari replied as he stood closer to Jax, his warmth mingling with his and their children just as the sky lit up with fireworks.
I may not know what the future holds for me, my husband and my children but what I do know is that, aslong as I have them, no joy in this world could surpass them, they are my everything along with my family, so whatever may come now, we'll face it together and survive it. My family isn't perfect but we're growing learning and that's all that matters, change is coming and I can feel the oncoming chaos, whether its headed toward me or someone else, I'll see it through because that's what we do, in all the trials and hardships, we'll see it through, we might all have different destinies but we're a family and we'll stick together through it all.
THE MEDIUM.
+++
Finally, it took a lot of time to get to this chapter and honestly I couldn't have written this chapter any better because I wanted these two to be happy. Most of you will ask me if Medium is finished and the answer is for book 1 which is Chapter 1-20 YES, for book 2 which is 21 - 40 Yes, the books are finished, because I didn't want to separate the books I melded them into one continuous story line with different archs, hopefully you understand, the third and final installment which I titled Tribulation will come sometime this year or next year, so bear with me there.
Happy Pride Month!
