Adrian Brooke - Milford.
Adrian knew this wasn't going to be an easy task, but was anything ever really lately. "So how is she?" Renee asked as the sphere around Elizabeth kept rotating and the liquid inside still a calm purple turning green. "As far as I can tell, she's healing, I'm reversing the effects of her blood on her body, then finding the perfect balance of her blood and set it there, it's why she already seems younger, the poison, —eighty percent of it is out of her system without crippling her mana stream, what's left is in her throat, that will take time to be removed." Ari explained and Renee nodded with a sigh. "How much more time, it's been a week." Nik mentioned as he walked into the lab.
"I can't be sure, this poison has been coursing through her longer than it has been removed, so it will take time, we can at least give her that right, plus her body itself is being reversed in growth, give me a little credit here, —I'm on overtime." Ari explained with a pout and the two parents chuckled coming over to hug him. "The reason why he's asking is because he's worried you'll exert yourself too much and leave no magic for the baby." Renee explained and it made sense to Ari but one thing was for sure, to even dream of his magic running out was an impossible feat after what his grandmother told him, the source wasn't anything they thought it was, the source was him because he could travel inbetween worlds and always absorb the energy.
"So I found Skyler." He mentioned as they pulled apart and Nik hummed. "Are you sure he'll listen?" Renee worried. "If he wants to not be hunted, or have a target on his back his whole life, he needs to break the curse." Ari replied and the parental unit nodded. Nik suddenly swayed as he stood and Renee was quick to catch him. "Hey, —hey what's wrong?" He asked his husband whilst checking him with magic. "I don't know, it felt as if something passed through me and put something in me, then I felt a surge of dange after, —I don't know." He explained and Ari didn't feel panicked, even though there was an impulse to do so.
"You're going to be okay, I can't see anything out of the ordinary over your aura." Ari told him and it was the truth, he couldn't see anything out of place. "Alright, you need to go see Skyler, —be careful and when you meet Neill, be very careful." Nik warned as Renee chided him. "Stop worrying, he'll be just fine, after all you raised him." Renee asserted as Adrian just chuckled before holding out his hand a portal opened, it was different, instead of milky white or sparkling gold, it was transparent with orange symbols circling the edges, that was definitely new, before Ari passed through the portal he raised the house wards, just in case.
When he appeared on the other side, he was surprised to find his uncle in a quaint two story home, currently immersed in what was mental training, in a basement turned arena. "Whatever you want, it better be go—." The older lady he was with hissed as she opened her eyes and stood face to face with him. "Hello Nadia." Ari muttered facing the woman with a smile, her initial shock wore off as she pressed her lips into a thin line. "Who are you?" She demanded and Ari wanted to kick himself as he put his gloved hands together. "Forgive me, my name is Adrian Brooke, the medium and witch of protection." He introduced as Skyler got up in surprise.
"How did you find us?" He asked and Ari realized things weren't exactly going the way he anticipated. "I'm sorry to have barged into your home, but uncle, —its important that we speak." Ari explained and Skyler's eyes glowed green. "No, —if my father, or yours sent you here, tell them I want nothing to do with them." He hissed back as the older lady in the room seemed to be pondering what was going on. "I don't bel—." Before she could finish Skyler had attacked Ari with his flame, the green flames like serpents circled Ari who didn't even find them harmful in the least.
"You know, you should really allow your elders to speak first." Ari mentioned as the orange flame burst to life around him, they snuffed out Skyler's flame and forced it back without strain. "Please, tell him." He told Nadia who shook her head. "Skyler calm your heart, a witch must first think before acting, your irrational behavior is what got you into the mess you left behind, let go of your traits, rebuild yourself, if you'd actually taken time to actually learn his name, —you would've known that this is Johnathan's older brother, and if he's Neill's child why would he even do anything for Neill when he barely knows the wolf, —forgive him child, his mind still needs sharpening." Nadia explained and Ari was grateful for her intervention or otherwise Ari would have fought his own uncle.
"Great, now that's out of the way, I believe it's better if you're here as I explain." Adrian asserts as the flames that had wanted to consume each other vanished. "What is it?" Skyler asked calmly. "It's simple really, when you left the Sovietro home, you defended yourself against Neill, when you did you placed a curse on him through your flame." He began but Skyler seemed to be in shock. "My flame can do that." He asserted and Ari nodded. "All flames have an opposite, a curse they can afflict if the wielder wishes, yours is the everburn, even after you've stopped your actual fire from consuming the being, the curse of the everburn prevents healing on whoever it's placed on, until ones sins are completely burnt away, —now when you attacked Neill you put the everburn on him and if you haven't guessed, he's not exactly thrilled." Adrian concluded and all Skyler could do was nod as did Nadia.
"So you came here to warn him?" Nadia asked. "No, I came here because Neill is getting involved with some very dangerous people, ones that actually have the power to challenge you and win, if you're not strong enough, and even kill your grandnother, I won't sugar coat my words I'm sorry but Neill is coming for you, he'll either kill you, or rip the flame out of you to break the curse." He added and a cold chill swept up the room at the mention of the flame being stolen. "So what do you even propose I do, —I can't put my grandmother in danger, she's all I have here." Skyler pleaded and Ari smiled, at least he was thinking now.
"I'm going to find Neill, try talk him out of killing you, it will most likely not work so I'll have to knock him out and bring him here, you'll remove the curse, while he's under and I'll put him back wherever he was in the first place, Skyler after that I'll have to put a cloaking spell on you, despite the removal of the curse, I know Neill will never change, it's his nature, he'll come for you wanting something else like a bully, so I will need you to vanish, to seem as if you've never been on this realm, along with you Nadia, if that's alright, when you're ready to come back, I won't make it hard to break the cloak." The witch explained and the two people with him in the room had sullen faces but nodded, there was no choice.
"Alright." Skyler accepted. "Good, I'll be back, —in a few hours or less depending on how I'm feeling." He informed the two who scoffed. Adrian held out his hand and opened a portal to where Neill was. "It'll be alright uncle." He reassured before walking through the portal and arriving on what seemed to be a small manor, of course Neill would choose something lavish. He didn't need to waste another spell trying to locate the wolf, he was by the balcony, a very large balcony overlooking the compound. "Isn't this a surprise, my son comes to pay his father a visit." Neill muttered from above and because both of them had incredible hearing, Adrian heard him.
Neill ordered the guards to grab Adrian but before they touched him, they all fell to the ground unconscious. "I don't like mysterious men touching me, I reserve that for my mate, now, if you'd be so kind to tell the rest to stand down." Ari addressed Neill who scoffed as he adjusted the shirt he wore over the many bandages on his body, as a wolf he must've been rapidly healing and burning all over again, Skyler really did a number on him, —yet he didn't listen, the guards still tried to chain him. "Sleep." He told them all and spread the spell all over the compound leaving no one conscious except Neill.
"You have an amazing view." He told the man as he flew up to the balcony where he was. "What do you want Adrian, to taunt me, to show me how I've failed as a father, what exactly." He growled as Ari looked at him in pity. "You don't get it do you, I want nothing from you, —you left Neill, left to start your life afresh, left us behind and I had to grow up, take care of three children whilst juggling school, work and making sure the vampire wanting to use us didn't get the chance to do so, it was hard but I managed it, including learning about my mystic heritage, if I were someone else I would have buckled under the pressure and gave up like you, but unlike you, I did what was right, it's funny how you don't realized that all the horrible things that happen to you are of your own volition." Ari exclaimed with a hiss as Neill looked away with a hiss.
"If you had just come back home nothing would've changed." He growled and Adrian scoffed. "What home, —did you leave us a home perhaps, no you didn't, —even your father forgot about our existence, so tell me what home, I built a home for my siblings, I didn't need yours riddled with deception, lies and power plays, you're constantly challenging your father as if you'd be able to rule this city, you wouldn't last a day doing what he does, you're just a pampered bastard who thinks he's entitled to everyone." The witch hissed as the railing of the balcony melted in his fury. "Oh thats rich coming from you, you don't know what I've struggled with, witch of protection, you weren't there to see what I went through." Neill argued as Ari finally laughed, laughed hard, Neill had finally amused him.
"So you think my pain, my trials are comical?" He hissed. "No, I know what you went through, I know you got out but the woman who dove in with you died— because of you, you left my mother, left her to endure addiction whereas you got out, had more kids and a family, so yes, your stupid gutless argument is comical because like I said, you're an entitled dick." Ari concluded as Neill sneered. "Don't forget I'm your father Adrian." He hissed. "No my father is home, constantly worrying about me, not you—." He corrected as Neill scoffed.. "So is that why you came here, to argue with me." The wolf called out.
"Not in the least, I came here to help you, because unlike normal people your need to kill and make a mess of people's lives is just way too much for you to control, Skyler will be removing your curse, afterwards you leave him alone." Ari asserted as Neill scoffed. "What guarantee do you have that I won't come after him even after he's removed his curse." Neill argued and Ari just couldn't help accept his own notion as right, he would come after Skyler. "There isn't, absonom." He replied in a whisper and Neill fell unconscious. "That's why I needed your guard down." He added as a clapping sound came from beyond the balcony.
"Constó." He cast the spell as Jose had appeared. "Cunning, you lured him out, made his mind vulnerable and knocked him out, I can't believe you're his son, you do not take after him at all." Jose mentioned as Ari turned away from him. "Whatever you do, be quick, once I find the witch, he won't see tomorrow." Jose warned but something else happened, a vision played in Adrian's mind, the house was being attacked, by monsters sent by Jose.
Now Adrian was confused, he had to get Neill to Skyler but his family needed him, —they were strong, they would be okay. He reassured himself as he levitated Neill's body into the portal and allowed it to swallow him as Jose struggled with his spell, it would hold for a while but he needed to be quick so once he was on the other side he motioned for Skyler to begin. "Quickly, we don't have time." He stated as Skyler summoned his flame into being and spread it over Neill. "Take back thy curse, let his soul rest, valo et menosiviat et mortem." He cast the spell as green fire turned darker and it pulled the curse back as Neill convulsed on the ground but he was free when the flames left his body.
Ari opened a portal to the balcony, on the other side Jose was still struggling as he levitated Neill's body through and the portal closed. "Are you ready?" He asked Skyler who nodded as he stood with his grandmother. "Phetina et solphis ligare —protego valdit et sanguis detier —solvenda magna caecus ligare, bind." He cast the spell as several runic circles rotated around the two. "This, it's a higher echelon spell to be able to cast it, it requires a lot of mana." Nadia comments and Ari nodded as the runes slowly came over their bodies and attached themselves then vanished when the bind was done. "Only I can find you since I'm the caster, but getting to me isn't easy, so don't worry, you're safe." Ari reassured as Skyler came over and hugged him.
"Thank you, for everything." He asserted and Adrian nodded accepting the hug. "It's the least I could do, we've all been victims of that family." Ari mused as they separated. "Skyler take care of yourself, get stronger, and don't forget to tell your son about his awesome cousin." Adrian whispered to a shocked Skyler as he wanted to ask, Adrian had a cheeky smile then vanished.
The Milford Home.
"Where did these things even come from, and why are they cloaked." Jax groaned as he impaled several mutated creatures he couldn't make out, they were between man and goat. "They just showed up." Johnny replied as his black will caused several explosions at the back of their home, luckily this fight had been moved inbetween the barriers so no damage to the house or anything else. "They are so relentless." Renee hissed as cast several spells over the creatures, crushing and impaling them. Nik was at the front killing as many as he could before they could get to the others.
He had felt it before Adrian left, something was coming, but he'd thought it was nothing until that nagging feeling got even worse, then they attacked, Nik unleashed sonic waves over the creatures ripping them apart as Jax's tails wrapped around him and an explosion of black flames occurred in front of the banshee killing the oncoming hoard. "We need to find their source and destroy it or we'll be doing this all day." Johnny ordered. "I'll create a path!" Enzo yelled over them as black lighting hailed down from the sky. "I'll find the source." The familiar voice of the patriarch surprised them as the giant man vanished in speed over the cleared path.
"What's he doing here?" Jax asked as his dad just shrugged and conjured a vortex of scorching water that swept over the battlefield killing as many as it could touch. "Someone go help that man!" Renee called out as he stomped his foot on the ground causing the earth to break apart creating a path for Enzo who also vanished. A giant snake and spider joined the fight too creating more ground for the Milfords. "Where have you two been?" Johnny hissed as Kraven hissed back spitting out a creature, and ripping through more. An explosion of red and blue alarmed the family as a whirlwind of air rippled through creatures and onto them. "Source is closed and we killed the witch summoning the creatures but there is a slight problem." Enzo relayed.
"What problem?" Nik demand as the slight hiss and roar of a basilisk made it to their ears. "What in the name of the Goddess is that thing." Renee whispered. "Basilisk, get out of the way!" Nik screamed as he vanished but everything seemed to pause, time slowed as something happened, and it put all of them at ease. Nik suddenly appeared by his mate, as Enzo grabbed the patriarch and was pulled away with him when the glow of celtic symbols over his body couldn't be ignored, Johnny just closed his eyes as he felt the familiar warmth as did Jax most of all who simply smiled whilst he was pulled away, orange flames erupted on their battlefield, their intensity caused the family to look away as they turned everything that was hostile to ash, the basilisk had no chance, as the flames touched it, —it turned to sand them the sand was heated until it was glass, then cracked to become nothing.
The whole area was cleansed in one attack leaving it as if nothing had ever occurred. Adrian floated down as the warm breeze spread all around them, making them smile as did the sight of Adrian. "You're late." Jax whispered as he walked toward his mate and kissed him tenderly. "Had a few stops, and a plan to execute." He mused as everyone chuckled. "It's good to see you again." The patriarch asserted as he looked to the family. "You too." Johnny replied as Renee checked them all. "All of you, —inside, I want you all cleaned up, and I don't want blood or dirt on my rug and I definitely do not want mud on the floors, I just had your pops clean those." He exclaimed sternly and it amused Adrian and his mate, their dad wasn't the one who cleaned up yet it was his floors, and he never ever argued it's not.
"So how did it go?" Jax asked his mate whilst carrying him inside. "It was really productive, everything went according to plan." He replied as Jax rumbled to the feeling of nuzzling his mate. "I was thinking, maybe we could go on a date, conventional, non conventional." He added and Ari slightly chuckled. "Do you want to tell me how this idea suddenly came about?" He asked and Jax just shrugged. "It just did and I'm taking you out on a date, that's final." He asserted as Ari just chuckled with a nod. He didn't want to keep questioning Jax but there was a feeling that Jax might've been hiding something from him, of course Jax would tell him in time, but he couldn't help just wanting to know, guess he had to wait.
