Adrian.
"I never knew what they looked like." Jax mumbled as he relives the vision Adrian had shown him, he hadn't expected to see that it was his parents, he didn't expect to get a huge piece of the puzzle to his birth parents or his mystical origin. "I'm sorry." Adrian comforted as Jax pulled him into a hug. "Thank you, I always wanted to know if my parents wanted me or not, if they gave me up willingly or not and now I don't get to blame them, they offered themselves to slaughter so I could live and I will always be grateful." Jax confessed as he hugged Adrian, it was the truth that he spoke, Adrian could feel it.
"It's alright, now we need to break the chains on both of you, I can reverse the spell cast with the moonstones, and with the wards on the house no one will sense you, so you can try to regulate your mana and will." Adrian explained in simplicity but he knew the process was going to hurt and it wasn't going to be as easy. "But first let me made dinner because this is going to be a long night, Jax I advise you call your dad, you can tell him you're sleeping over." He offered the choice to Jax since it was best that he didn't leave the house without regulating his aura.
"Okay I will get on it." Jax replied and left the lounge, Adrian stood up and walked to the kitchen, and he began cooking as Johnny walked into the kitchen with a sad smile. "What's wrong wolfy?" Adrian questioned looking at his taller little brother. "I just feel bad for Jax, he didn't deserve what happened, though he's got his dad, he's lost a lot and I'm hoping we can make up for some of what he's lost." Johnny explained and Adrian walked over to him and hugged him.
Johnny was somehow an empath, other people's feelings affected him so much that he felt them as his own, it had helped him tell truth from lies for a long time. "I know wolfy, and we'll do whatever we can to make sure that he's okay, all we can do now is be there for him." Adrian replied softly and pressed a kiss to Johnny's cheek, the two let go and Adrian moved back to his cooking on the stove. "My dad says it's alright since he was already going on a work trip, I suggested it this morning, he needs to leave the city and breath, that's exactly what he's doing." Jax informed Adrian and Johnny as they sat in the kitchen.
Adrian nodded with a smile and Johnny nodded as well, although Adrian knew it took a lot to deal with loss, he'd often realize that the best way to deal with it was accepting it head on, it made life easier to manage, the pain to lessen, so what Jax had offered his father was the right thing, he needed time away to grieve and face his own pain head on, even if his husband's soul had made peace and moved on to the nether. Adrian slid the jar of vanilla cookies and two glasses of milk toward Jax and Johnny, he didn't say a word just winked and went back to cooking.
Johnny immediately had his hands in the jar and Jax had half his milk down his throat, Adrian watched the two eat their feelings out, it was a good remedy, always. After he finished cooking and letting everything simmer, Adrian moved from the kitchen to the library which was also huge enough to make a workroom, which he desperately needed, with the stocked ingredients he got and his many grimoires he got to work finding the perfect spell that would work in concert with the moonstones and his own magic.
"Got it." He whispered to himself and began preparing the ritual, he cleared the center of the room with his telekinesis, and flicked his fingers so that a tetragram appeared on the ground, he walked over to a shelf and heaved the bag of rock salt, making a circle with the salt on top of the tetragram he moved again to place candles at each point of the star. "Johnny, I need six runic dials." He called out and Johnny immediately walked into the library and moved over to the shelf with the dials, he handed them over to Adrian who placed each one behind a candle.
"Whoa, wicked." Jax muttered looking at the ritual preparation by Adrian, the boy who had been preparing the ritual flicked his fingers and all six candles lit instantly. "Who's going first?" Adrian asked as he finished preparing. "I will." Jax volunteered and moved to the middle of the circle where he was on his knees the moment he stepped into the circle. "I need you to do this with me, you need to have the will to break your chains, to break the oppression on your second soul." Adrian instructed as he lit the willow root.
"I got it." Jax replied as he struggled against the force holding him down, it felt like chains constricting him. "And whatever happens, don't let go of your stone, no matter how much it burns, you must not let it go." Adrian gave his final instruction and knelt down in front of Jax, he breathed in and exhaled, calming his heart and mind. "Talix martem aminex locomota vomir artinix signio: I break the chains on this beast: I free it from its confines in this body." The room began to slightly shake.
"Keep fighting Jax!" Johnny yelled as Jax began to scream, the obsidian rock in his palm no longer had its color, it was red hot and the smell of flesh burning wafted into the air. "Talix martem aminex locomota vomir artinix signio" Adrian kept chanting as his eyes turned golden, as his body was lifted off the ground, he didn't stop chanting, everything was falling off the shelves as Adrian hovered in the air and Jax was screaming bloody murder.
"Adrian!" Jax yelled but it sounded so faint and far, as he kept chanting, Adrian looked into Jax's core, four tails were free, and Jax was at his limit, the two souls turned to look at Adrian who had appeared in their plane of existence. "Keep fighting love, don't you want to protect us, keep us safe, keep fighting!" Adrian yelled as Jax pulled on the sixth and seventh chains binding his tails. "Fight!" Adrian knew this was the hardest part, the eighth tail and the sacred ninth tail were chained strongly, so instead of leaving it to Jax he moved to his side. "We're in this together." He exclaimed as he tugged on the chains with his magic.
They pulled on the chain and bit by bit, they started to unravel, Jax's second soul finally gave one burst of power and the chain snapped off and vanished, the beast roared loudly as he was free, Adrian smiled as he left their plane of existence and back into his body where was coming down slowly. "Ari!" Johnny called out as the orange glow in Adrian's eyes finally glazed away. "That was—." Adrian couldn't finish his sentence, right there in front of him, there was a beast almost eight foot in height.
Its fiery orange glow illuminated the library, nine tails waved around, each a different color according to what it granted Jax, it was breathtaking. "Wicked." Johnny mumbled and Adrian stood up and walked to the were. "You're beautiful." He mumbled as placed a palm on the were who rumbled like a cat, he knew it felt good to be free, to be able to shift. "Johnny, it's your turn." Jax spoke to them using the link they had, even though he was in his kitsune form.
"We might have to do it after you shift back, and put some clothes on." Johnny replied mischievously as the kitsune rose to stand on his hind legs and used his upper arms as hands, of course he stumbled much to Adrian's amusement, it would take time to get used to. Gradually fur became skin, his tails receeded and the six foot six Jax stood in front of them naked as expected and Adrian immediately turned to look away.
Johnny tossed his pants toward Jax who wore them immediately. "Thank you, I couldn't have done it without you." Jax spoke gratefully as he hugged Adrian from behind making him blush harder because he could feel everything on Jax and he wasn't disappointed. "Let's have dinner first love birds, the triplets are awake." Johnny called out and the two reluctantly let go, they moved from the messy library to the kitchen. "There are three cars outside, all of them have vampires, except one." Jax mumbled without warning.
"How did you know that?" Adrian questioned as he was helped to set up the dinner table. "Vampires have a distinct smell, and now that I can freely talk to my beast he's teaching me a lot." He proudly replied and Adrian was happy for Jax, he knew his crush now had a part of him that was missing, a part of him that was meant to be there always. "Dinner is served." Adrian announced as he served the bouncing six year olds along with a bouncing seventeen year old. "This is delicious." Jax complimented as shoved food down his throat, it seemed the only people eating normally were him and the kids, Jax and Johnny were shoving food down their throat like... Animals.
Indeed they were animals, which made Adrian realize he might have to add more groceries to his normal buy. They enjoyed the meal with an elated Jax and a nervous Johnny, the kids ate their food without throwing it at each other and that was what Adrian was hoping for, the evening and night were going to be long since the wedding was tomorrow evening and they had to get ready. "Do you have your suit pressed?" Adrian asked Jax who nodded, he knew the color of the suit Jax had chosen, he just had to color code with him.
"Johnny did you take your suit along with the boy's to the dry cleaner, we have a wedding to attend." Adrian exclaimed and Johnny nodded. "I'm getting them tomorrow after school, but you know how you know who hates monkey suits." Johnny replied and Adrian sighed, Martin hated suits, he didn't know why he hated suits but he did. "I got it handled, don't worry." Adrian offered with a smile and Johnny nodded going back to his food.
When they finished the boys went off to play for two hours before bedtime, Adrian dragged Johnny to the library, when they got there Jax helped him clear out the mess they had made when Jax was the one in the circle. "Arent you running low on magic." Johnny inquired trying to get out of the circle, Adrian knew his little brother was nervous and holding burning rocks wasn't exactly fun for him, he flicked his fingers and the ritual candles lit up and Johnny groaned. "Nope, my magic is all full." He replied his little brother who glared at it.
"It's going to be fine Johnny, you broke half the seal already, you just need to endure this one time so that you can shift like Jax, you'll be strong enough to protect the twins, me and Jax, you won't feel like you can't do anything at all since I'm the one with magic, you'll be able to do it as well, to do what we thought was impossible, so don't be afraid." Adrian comforted his little brother as he felt Johnny's second soul shift inside him, he was a strong wolf, Johnny just had to believe in himself.
"When you feel like giving up, fight, when it hurts like hell, fight, the end goal is worth the pain and look don't even seem like I was hurt, you'll be okay." Jax added to Adrian's words, the medium was grateful to Jax for encouraging Johnny to do this, he was grateful to have him, and his support. Like before Adrian cut Johnny's palm and placed his moonstone, the blood from his cut was smeared onto the stone as he held it. "I'm ready." Johnny announced and Adrian nodded.
"Talix martem aminex locomota vomir artinix signio: I break the chains on this beast: I free it from its confines in this body." Adrian began the spell, the same shaking and the same shift in power became apparent, the stone turned from pale blue to red as Adrian chanted further, bit by bit the smell of burning flesh wafted into the air. "Hold it!" Jax ordered Johnny, both their eyes were glowing with power as Adrian began to move from the ground, his eyes glazed gold again and Johnny began to scream.
"Break your chains, Johnny." Adrian encouraged as he chanted harder and faster, his magic poured into Johnny as his chains broke, Adrian knew something was wrong the moment he was frozen in mid air and Johnny broke the seal, he felt as if his windpipe was being crushed, he couldn't move, he was slowly being killed. A giant black wolf stood where Johnny was before, Jax was amazed by the sight but when he heard the choking sound, he looked up to horror.
A black chain had wrapped itself around Adrian's neck, blood was dripping from his mouth as he felt himself being killed, then he fell to the floor. "Adrian!" Jax yelled as he moved to Adrian, he took his body onto his lap, the chain had vanished but the damage had been done. "Adrian please don't leave me, Adrian I love you!" Jax sobbed as he felt his mate slip away, Johnny shifted back and ran to Adrian. "Brother, Ari!" Johnny cried as the boys ran into the room.
"Adrian!" The twins yelled with tears running down their cheeks. "Adrian please come back, please no!" Jax yelled as tears burned his eyes, he had lost him, he had been killed by something they didn't know. They all cried as Adrian's lifeless eyes never blinked.

"Right on time." The woman with black hair and green sparkling eyes spoke as Adrian's form appeared in the space between the living and the dead. "Grandma." Adrian exclaimed as he saw the woman and ran to her. "I missed you so so much." Adrian cried as he clung to the woman. "I missed you too kiddo, I missed you so much." She responded with sadness as she held her grandchild.
"You've broken your brother's seal." The woman exclaimed and that's when everything hit Adrian, how he was dead. "I did, and somehow I got killed." He confessed and the woman chuckled. "I set that little trap when you finally broke his seal, I wanted to make sure that you followed our family's legacy, and I'm proud to know that you did." She confessed and Adrian looked at her in shock. "But I'm still dead." He replied as he realized what he left behind.
"No you aren't, if you were dead you would be in the netherworld, but you aren't." She replied holding out her hand for Adrian. "You still live Adrian, but first you had to receive your final gift so that you can go back with our family's legacy, you've done well Adrian and I'm proud of you." The woman pressed a kiss to Adrian's forehead just as his body was engulfed in orange flames. "Grandma, what's happening?" Adrian questioned as he felt the flame course through these veins.
"You have received the final legacy, I expected it to be another flame on you but it seems this one had chosen you, now go back Adrian, protect and care for your family, and also I do approve of Jaxon, he's a good one." She spoke as she waved him off, Adrian felt like he was falling. "I love you, grandma." He mumbled as he closed his eyes and fell.
~~~~
"Adrian." He heard his name, there were cries. "What's going on?" Johnny remarked as he panicked. Adrian wanted to know what was going on too so he opened his eyes. "You've been reborn." The voice of his grandma whispered as it disappeared, the orange flames finally vanished but Adrian could feel them, coursing through him. "Adrian?" Martin mumbled in between hiccups, he nodded to Martin who immediately latched onto Adrian.
"It's you, you're alive how—." Jax mumbled in disbelief but crushed Adrian in a hug as he cried, Johnny and the rest of the boys all piled up over him crying. "I'm okay, I'm back, it's alright." He soothed them all, Adrian remembered everything that had happened and his heart felt full, he had seen his grandma and she had given him a powerful legacy, she approved of Jax. "I love you too." Adrian whispered into Jax's mind who clutched onto him tighter.
They stayed like that for a moment longer relishing in the joy of having him back. Afterward, Adrian bathed the boys and put them to bed whilst Johnny and Jax cleaned up the library. When he finished reading the story about the beanstalk the little six year old were all asleep. He made his way downstairs to the lounge to find Johnny shifted on the floor sleeping. "He said it's cool." Jax sarcastically mumbled making Adrian laugh.
He then showed Jax what happened when he temporarily died and how his grandma approved. "I meant what I said, I love you mate." Jax confessed as he finally claimed his kiss from Adrian. "I love you too."
