Adrian.

Adrian didn't know what to expect but his heart was pounding, his nerves were skyrocketing as he got off the cab he had taken into the city, his vision from last night had been crystal clear and very hard to miss, he wondered why those hooded figures were summoning demonic power, why they needed it as well, it never ended well with demonic power like his grandmother's books instructed.

He walked gracefully toward the precinct and like always it was busy, and very hard to get past those getting in and out, some in cuffs others looked like they had just been released. Adrian kept his head down and did not stray from his objective, he didn't want to attract any ghost that he might see and they would see him as well, he wasn't in the mood to have another heartbreaking session with a family.

He moved swiftly into the large police building, avoiding any form of contact as well, it would trigger his already bombarded mind, being psychic was hard enough, he didn't want to feel crippling emotions as well. The large building reminded him of the times he had come to the precinct to help Mr. Leyton on a missing persons case, he did help but the image of the girl who had been gang raped and thrown in a well never left her mind.

Adrian searched around looking for the familiar face that was supposed to wait for him and he couldn't find him, so he turned down everything and focused on feeling Mr. Leyton's presence, when he ventured past what seemed to be a glamour Adrian gasped, he immediately opened his eyes to see the precinct in a new light.

Was this always here. He thought as he took in his surrounding, when he finally found the police chief his jaw dropped. He wondered how the human looking police chief was a vampire, his aura was suffocating and it reminded him of the vampires that had been stalking his house, did the police chief have anything to do with it.

Adrian noticed the minds of the beings around him changing to focus on him, so he immediately pulled back from the glamour, something was definitely going on and he didn't know how to react, did he have to acknowledge the presence of a world parallel to the one he knew or would he stay silent hoping if he left it alone, it would leave him alone, so he referred to his rules and left it alone, new things can be potentially dangerous unless their Jax Milford.

Adrian walked to the receptionist's desk and smiled. "Morning, I'd like to see Mr. Leyton, is he free or should I wait." The receptionist a gay male with strawberry blonde hair, lanky body, and a permanent glee face raised his finger for Adrian to hold, he chuckled when he trespassed into the man's mind, his daddy kink would be the end of him, Adrian mused as he waited.

"Go ahead, he's free." The lanky male replied and Adrian walked to the elevator, he knew the man might've moved with his incredible speed from the ground floor to his office on the fifth floor. Adrian waited in the elevator alone until two women in police uniform came in, deciding to practice his own glamour, Adrian focused, and in the blink of an eye he had vanished, it was easier than he thought.

The elevator opened on the fifth floor, his glamour was undone and he walked out and headed straight for the police chief. He knew he could never see the man in a different light now, did Cooper know about his dad being a vampire, or was he himself a vampire, he had never probed into his friend's minds, he hadn't found any reason to, the thoughts now haunted him even more, he had always hidden his powers and never tested their limits, now that he was doing it, more mysteries were showing up.

"Come in Adrian." A voice smooth and baritone called out, Adrian walked in as he calmed his mind he needed a clear mind to comprehend anything the man had to say, or rather vampire had to say. "Morning, Mr. Leyton." Adrian greeted politely knowing there was no reason to show the man that he knew about his secret or the glamour of the precinct itself. "Hello Adrian, I'm sorry again for calling so early, but it's something I believe you can help with." The male turned to his drawers and pulled out several files from them.

"There has been a recent uptake in child disappearances, we managed to find the children but problem is, they aren't alive, each one we find has been in a specific location, and a specific carving on their forehead with a ritual blood circle beneath them, I know it's not your area of expertise but I even called the local dark arts and crafts professor at the university and she couldn't figure it out, I was hoping you could help us by finding a spirit and asking what happened." The man explained as he placed each file in front of Adrian.

Adrian was barely in control, the children had been brutally murdered and sacrificed, it was gruesome and he wanted to vomit, but the police chief had asked, plus he would be compensated, he would gain money for himself and his siblings. "I don't think I can be of much help Mr. Leyton, but I can try." Adrian replied just as a knock sounded on the door. "Come in!" Mr. Leyton called out and the woman walked in, she had dark hair, sparkling green eyes, and an aura that made Adrian slightly move away.

Looking through her mind Adrian felt the second soul like he did in Jax, but she was primal as well, a predator. "Dr. Charlton, this is Adrian Brooke." The chief introduced them. "Oh, the so called medium." She commented harshly with sarcasm and an unimpressed tone, Adrian sighed not even bothering with her condescending tone. "Nice to meet you." Adrian offered with no handshake.

"I told you I needed time to figure this out, and you brought a child into a matter like this." She spat and Adrian remained silent. "Adrian can help, if you give him a chance, he may not seem like much but trust me." The police chief replied with an affirming tone, it was as if there was a message underlying in his words directed to the woman and Adrian picked it up easily, she had a second soul, she was a were and he was a vampire, they knew that about each other,  to break the tension Adrian coughed lightly.

"Are the bodies still at the morgue, I need to see them and the doctor who did the autopsy." Adrian inquired and the three of them found themselves waking out of the precinct into the police chief's car. Adrian had kept his head low and silent as they made their way down, Dr. Charlton had found this odd. "What are you hiding from kid?" She asked with a chuckle. "Ghosts, if they find out he can see them, they will stick to him until he helps them." It wasn't Adrian who replied, it was the chief as he drove toward the hospital.

"So you really believe this kid can see spirits." She yet again criticized Adrian as he sat in the back seat, he rolled his eyes but kept silent. "Not just spirits, he has quite the assortment of powers." Mr. Leyton replied looking through the mirror with a smile that didn't sit right with Adrian, he was definitely onto him knowing. "I believe you said that what I can do, should not be revealed." Adrian spoke as gravity rained down on the police chief like an anvil, it was so heavy the car swerved and he started bleeding from his nose.

"I'm sorry, I got carried away." The man lightly mused as he apologized, Adrian's hold was released on the man, Dr. Charlton was far from fine as she glanced at Adrian and her friend Leyton. "Did he just." She whispered and the police chief nodded with dismissal, she wanted to know more but with Adrian around, she could not ask. They arrived at the hospital in the few awkward minutes that passed. "The doctor who did the autopsy is already waiting in the morgue." Mr. Leyton instructed and Adrian climbed out of the car like the two adults had.

Hospitals were the worst of places to be as an empath or medium, that and cemeteries, there was so much death, despair, pain, and anguish bombarding Adrian, he clutched his head tightly trying to block it all out but it was hard, so he focused on the two in front of him.

"Does the guard know about him, or the vampire order." Dr. Charlton asked the police chief when Adrian wasn't in earshot. "No, I'm hoping to keep him away from them, he'll be used as a weapon, a tool, his more powerful than a witch I've ever known, and what he did in the car was child's play to him, I've sent a squad to always trail him, and guard him, he's too important, plus the kid lost his family and doing his best to take care of his siblings, he doesn't need the burdens of our world on his shoulders." The police chief exclaimed as he walked.

"He already is part of our world, he's masked his aura but I can still feel his power, and I think there is two of my kind with him, I can smell it on him, and magic with a different signature, it's not just him you need to protect, it's his siblings as well." Dr. Charlton warned as they got to the morgue. "I know." The police chief replied and Adrian pulled back his psychic power, what he had heard baffled and relieved him as well. The vampires stalking him were protecting him, but what did the doctor mean by two of her own and magic.

The thoughts churned in Adrian's mind, couldn't his days be normal, why did he have to know more and more about a world hidden away from him, he was grateful the police chief was looking out for him and his siblings but he also needed to learn about the guard and the order of vampires along with uncovering the secret of his siblings and Jax's, he knew Jax was something but he himself didn't know what he was, it was blocked. "We're here." Mr. Leyton the police chief called out and Adrian snapped out of his inner mind.

"This is the doctor who performed the autopsy and follow up, we'll show you the bodies." Mr. Leyton exclaimed as Adrian walked into the morgue. "Are you sure the kid can do this, why is it even a kid?" The doctor scrutinized and Adrian sighed. "I already argue that Charlie, he seems to have faith in the child." Dr. Charlton drawled but Adrian ignored the two and walked to where Mr. Leyton was. "Body number one." He stated opening the body bag as he had pulled it out from the cold freezer.

Adrian walked silently to the body, he examined the curved toe which was broken, the arms that seemed dislocated, the neck wounds which seemed self done, but the mark of a star was definitely carved into his body, Adrian pulled on gloves and checked the arms again then came to his conclusion on the body. "Well—." Mr. Leyton spoke hopeful of the answer.  "He's under fifteen right?" Adrian questioned the doctor who nodded. "What does that have to do with anything?" Dr. Charlton hissed. "Everything, he's a virgin, he's not defiled, wounds on his neck are self done but his arms are not, that broken toe was self harm, he wanted to break the possession." Adrian asserted and the three adults had their jaws dropped.

"How did you—possession?" Dr. Charlton inquired. "Yes, the star on his forehead is of a ritual called the marking, when I looked through the files, all the kids had the marking of a tetragram or pentagram, but all in six locations, it's like marking hallowed ground where a ritual will be done in the center." Adrian explained and the doctor immediately rummaged through her bag and drew out a piece of paper. "You're right, when I took an aerial view of where the six kids where found it made this." She exclaimed showing the image to everyone in the room. "So you're saying the kid sacrificed himself willingly?" It was doctor Charlie who asked.

"Not at all, he was possessed, to kill himself willingly, he tried to fight it but he couldn't break it, and I'm sorry but possession like this taints your soul as well, there is a trace of his soul in the body, I can feel it but it's slowly fading because of what happened to him." Adrian explained and laid a hand on the body, as he did do his eyes turned black. "Kid!" Dr. Charlton yelled but the chief held her back. "I see hooded figures, they're performing a dark ritual on him, he's begging to be let go, dark smoke seeps from the hooded figure into the boy's mouth. I see him now at the park, near the pond, he's fighting it but it's too strong, the hooded figures watch in satisfaction, the marking was done, but it's missing something more." Adrian snapped out his vision and immediately the doctor held him up.

"What do you mean it's missing something?" The doctor questioned. "The boy he wasn't a normal child, he had magic, I'm guessing a witch if you believe that, they're taking specific children for the marking with enough magic to fuel their ritual, I don't know if there are any but they need children with magic or potential for it, if you look through the files you can tell, they need two of any specific kind." Adrian vaguely explained treading careful not to spill his knowledge of the mystic world he was inching into.

"He's right." Dr. Charlton looked at the others with a knowing expression. "Thank you, Adrian, wait for me outside I need to talk to Charlie and Dr. Charlton here, and I will drive you home." The chief offered and Adrian made his way to the door. "They are missing a fae, they need a fae child who is not defiled, they have two weres, two witches, one fae, you must warn the Zenith family." Dr. Charlton stated toward the chief and he nodded. "I will go directly there I drop off Adrian at home." The doctor nodded as her friend turned to leave.

"That child shouldn't be known in our world, he will be fought over by the families for power, keep him safe Gerrit." Dr. Charlton instructed with genuine concern for Adrian as she was left with Charlie. "If this is a ritual, who do you think is performing dark sacrificial magic?" Charlie asked. "I have no idea." The woman replied and that was the last of what Adrian heard as Mr. Leyton the police chief walked out the door to meet him, he smiled and held out his hand for him. "Thank you child for helping, let me take you home." Adrian nodded as he held on to the man's hand, it was protective and safe, like a father.

Adrian knew he had a lot to uncover and this was just the start of it, if his vision of the sacrifice was true he needed to take care of his siblings, and also make sure they stayed completely off the radar because something evil was going on and he didn't want to be part of it.
