CHAPTER SIX: heart monitor

••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

CASPIAN THADDEUS WAS TRADING OFF IN SPENDING TIME AT THE STILINSKI RESIDENCE AND THE MCCALL RESIDENCE. Both had offered their place to him. And, the thirteen-year-old wasn't sure what to do with the sudden, parent figures in his life.  It was odd, as the two always seemed worried about him.

"Fine." Scott huffed, pretending to be annoyed as he grabbed the tub of ice cream. He turned to Caspian. "You owe me."

"I'll do your homework. Just give me a couple days to be able to copy your hand writing," Caspian smiled back.

"You are not doing my homework. Your handwriting is awful. It's like a...dehydrated chicken write it."  Scott says.

Caspian gasps dramatically, putting a hand over his heart as they began to walk up to the register. "I've done nothing to offend you. How could you say such a thing?"

"Nothing to offend me?"

"Yeah. Nothing to offend you." Caspian grinned.

"I'm putting the ice cream back." Scott deadpans as he reached for it.

"I'm telling your mother. She will be so disappointed. How could you deprive me of such a thing?"

"You literally asked if you should put the car window down incase I wanted to stick my head out the window!" Scott whisper yelled.

The cashier gave the two a confused look.

"He's a bitch," Caspian says.

"No ice cream for you," Scott told him. "You pack the grocery bags."
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

The two had gone to floor three, looking around, only to see the car not there. "Damn it." Scott muttered.

The two went back, walking up to floor four, before walking down the isle. Scott placed the bag on the ground, pressing down on the key to locate the car. They heard a beeping. But, since Scott placed the bags in the ground, a bottle of milk rolled out of the bag.

"Crap!" Scott cursed as he ran forward.

The bottle was rolled back to them, marks on the side. They heard low growling. Scott immediately pulled Caspian to run, running on impulse. Caspian stumbled to keep up with him, until Scott had simply pulled him up as he ran, somehow moving him to stay on his back.

Scott turned the corner, dodging under a car. He breathed heavily, turning to Caspian. He pointed in the opposite direction. 'You run that way,' he mouthed. 'I'll distract him'.

Caspian began to shake his head, about to disagree with his plan when Scott heard the growling again. He immediately got up, and began to run across multiple car's hood.

Captain ran back, trying to find something that he could use as a weapon.

Caspian ran back, hearing Scott yelling. "Scott!"
Caspian ran around the parking lot, searching for his older friend.

Scott furrowed his eyebrows when seeing that Caspian had gathered the groceries. "I told you to run. Somewhere safe." Scott tells him.

"I was trying to find a weapon!" Caspian reasoned.

Derek sighed, annoyed. "So you grabbed your groceries?"

"Yeah....not my best idea. But, the ice cream's frozen solid. Plus, look at this cleaver I got." He lifted the large knife.
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

Scott had gone to Allison's house.

Caspian was staying the night at Scott's offering to put the groceries away for him so he could go to Allison's earlier.
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

"Caspian!" Scott whisper-yelled as he ran inside the house, closing and locking the door. He grabbed Caspian's back shirt, pulling him up and off the couch and practically throwing him over his shoulder before running up the steps.

"Can you stop doing that?" Caspian asked when Scott placed him down, shutting and locking his bedroom door before running over to the window and locking it before pulling down the shades.

Scott flickered the lights on, jumping and reaching out to grab Caspian again until he realized it was Derek. "You seriously need to stop doing that."

"So, what happened?" Derek asked. "Did he talks to you?"

"Yeah. We have a nice conversation about the weather. No, he didn't talk!" Scott yelled back.

"Well, did you get anything off of him? An impression."

"What do you mean?"

"What's going on?" Caspian asked.

Derek sighed, getting up from the seat. "The Alpha," Derek quickly told Caspian. "Remember your other senses are heightened. Communication doesn't have to be spoken. What kind of feeling did you get from him?"

Scott nodded. "Anger."

"Are you okay?" Caspian asked Scott.

"Focused of you?"

Scott shook his head. "I'm fine. No, not...not me. But, it was definitely anger. I could feel it. Especially when he drew the spiral."

"Wait, the what? What'd you say?" Derek asked.

"He drew this spiral on the window of my car, in the condensation, you know? What?"

"Is there something wrong? The spiral, it had as meaning?" Caspian questioned.

"No, it's...it's nothing." Derek walked pass the two.

"Wait, you can't just...just lie to us!" Caspian exclaimed.

"Wait, wait, wait, wait a second. You can't do that. You can't ask us to trust you and the just keep things to yourself."

Derek looked back at the door. "Doesn't mean anything." He unlocked the door.

"You buried your sister under a spiral." Scott announced. "What does it mean?"

Derek paused, opening the door before taking a breathe. "You don't want to know."

Caspian frowned. "Wait." He called out to the other, about to follow him out when Scott reached out, stoping him.
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

Scott had kept muttering about avoiding Allison. Caspian walked along side him.

"Stay away from Allison. Stay away from Allison." Scott paused, turning back around and walking down the stairs. "stay away from Allison. Just stay away from Allison--" Scott walked down the hall, stoping when Jackson walked out of the classroom in front of him.  "Stay away from Jackson. Just stay away from Jackson--"

Lydia turned, at her locker, she smiled. "Hey, Scott."

"Oh, come on!"

Caspian laughed.
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

They had gone to the cafeteria. Scott placing a book in front of his place, placing his head onto the table when he noticed that Allison and Lydia were a few tables down.

"I think the book's making it more obvious," Stiles told him. "Besides, she's reading, anyway."

"So, did you come up with a plan yet?" Scott asked.

"A plan?" Caspian questioned.

"We're helping Scott with his transformation so Derek doesn't." Stiles quickly explained before turning to Scott. "I think so."

"Does that mean you don't hate me now?"

"No. But, your crap has infiltrated my life, so now I have to do something about it. Plus, I'm definitely a better Yoda than Derek."

"Okay. Yeah, you teach me."

"Yeah, I'll be your Yoda."

"Yeah, you be my Yoda."

"Your Yoda I will be," Stiles mimics the Yoda voice.

"Nerd," Caspian muttered.

"...I said it backwards."

"Yeah, w-we know." Scott told him.

"All right, you know what? I definitely still hate you. Uh-huh. Oh, yeah." Stiles grabbed Scott's book,  then made sure that his book at hit Caspian.

Caspian ran after him, swinging his bag at Stiles. "Asshole."
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

Caspian didn't go to the lacrosse field, as he had class. He knew that Scott had a free period, Stiles would be skipping his class.

"Caspian, right?" The boy behind him asked, smiling.

"Yeah." Caspian slowly replied, confused as to who the other boy was.

The boy grinned, sticking his hand out. "Jeremiah."

Caspian took his hand, shaking it.
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

"I just moved her," Jeremiah says, following after Caspian. "I've heard that you are the youngest in the school. You skipped a year."

"Yep," Caspian answered.

"I was put into school early. So, I'm the youngest to." Jeremiah tells him.

Caspian turned to him, suspiciously. But, faked a smile. "Really?"
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

Caspian had spent some time with Jeremiah before the end of school.
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

Scott and Stiles told Caspian how they had to meet up at the school, Stiles picked up Scott. Caspian sat in the front seat, grinning back at Scott.  They drove back to the school, parking the car before opening the doors and holding out.

"This is a terrible idea," Stiles spoke.

"Yeah, I know." Scott replied.

"But, we're still gonna do it?" Stiles asked.

"Of course," Caspian smiled. "What else can we do?"

"Well, personally I'm a fan of ignoring a problem until eventually it just goes away." Stiles replied.

"Of course you are," Caspian sarcastically responded.

"Just make sure we can get inside," Scott ordered.

"Understood Batman," Caspian nodded.

Derek's car pulled up as Stiles grabbed the bolt cutters.

"Where's my boss?" Scott asked.

"He's in the back," Derek told him.

All three had bent down to see that Deaton was duck taped in the back.

"Oh, he looks comfortable," Stiles sarcastically spoke up.

The three turned and started to walk towards the school.

"Wait. Hey. What are you doing?" Derek questioned.

"You said I was linked with the Alpha." Scott replied, turning to the school. "I'm gonna see if your right."

Caspian began to walk towards the school, pausing as he turned to Derek. Then back at Scott and Stiles. "I'm gonna stay here."

"Are you sure?" Scott worryingly asked.

"Nope. You are coming with us," Stiles reached to pull Caspian along.
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

"Are you okay?" Caspian asked Derek.

Derek turned, looking confused.

"Aside from the market parking lot, the last time we saw you, you were dying."

An odd shrieking, howl was heard.

"You've got to be kidding me." Derek sighs.

They heard a other howl, much louder and stronger then the first.
••¤('×[¤ ɱε∂∂ℓε αɓσµƭ ¤]×')¤••

"I'm gonna kill both of you!" Derek immediately said upon seeing the two. "What the hell was that? What are you trying to do, attract the entire state to the school?"

Caspian had walked over to them, as they smiled and laughed.

"Sorry... I didn't know it would be that loud..." Scott replied, sheepishly.

"Yeah, it was loud... and it was AWESOME!" Stiles yelled, excitedly.

Derek looked at the buzz-cut boy, annoyed. "Shut up."

"Don't be such a sour-wolf!"

"What'd you do with him?" Scott suddenly asked.

"What?" Derek asked as everyone turned to the car. Deaton was missing.

"What the fuck?" Caspian questioned.

"I didn't do anything..." Derek replied.

"We need-" Caspian started when suddenly, Derek began to spit up blood. Caspian moved forward, not even noticing that Derek was being lifted off the ground as he moved to help the older one.

Scott and Stiles reached out, pulling Caspian back before Scott simply lifted Caspian up and ran towards the school. Stiles pulled open the door before slamming it closed.
