Sadie should have been home by now, but somehow, she managed to procrastinate whilst on the highway.

She didn't actually stop on the highway and just sit there, in every single town she went through, she pulled over and sat in an abandoned park or an empty field.

She wanted to get a final taste of nature before she was inevitably locked up again for a much longer period of time.

She knew how confining the tiny cells could be, so she had to stop and appreciate the fresh air. Despite it being cold and snowy, a few slightly fragrant flowers still bloomed, leaving a hint of a pleasant scent in the air.

In the particular city Sadie stopped in, this was mixed with the crisp scent of pine trees. Sadie had always loved the aroma of pine trees. She didn't really have any rhyme or reason for it, the scent was just incredibly pleasing to her.

The one thing Sadie loved more than ruining people's lives was drawing. Despite her talent, she had rarely told anyone about the fact that she drew anything and everything. Sure, there were some things in her sketchbook that were better off unseen, but she could draw most things incredibly realistically.

For example, one of the aforementioned pictures that probably shouldn't be seen by anyone was the picture Sadie of her and Jeremy kissing in a field much like the one she was currently in. Next to that was a similar picture with Christine, followed by gory pictures of Michael and several other people Sadie developed a hatred for over the years.

Maybe there was a good reason for her not to show anyone her art after all.

Sadie filled up each page in her sketchbook to the brim. She only had a few blank pages left and she wasn't about to waste them. Despite the drawings being really small on paper, they were still complex and highly detailed.

She got the book in seventh grade after her mom bought it for her birthday. Life was much simpler back then. After the Squip was removed, Sadie's mind wandered off to her mom, which led to her having to pull over as she sobbed.

Before this point in time, Sadie had never been any closer to someone than she was with her mom. Sure, she wasn't the best at parenting and had several mental issues that she bottled up until she erupted, but Sadie loved her, and now she was gone.

So, Sadie sat leaning up against a tall pine tree, drawing her mom from memory before the details of her face were to be forgotten.

Anyways, when she was in seventh grade, Sadie's art skills were pretty mediocre, but nowhere near terrible. She mostly drew a variety of animals and plants, sometimes mountains or the sky.

Her drawings became slightly less innocent as time went by. The steady pace increased drastically when Sadie's grandfather passed away. After this, Sadie fell into a deep depressive episode, drawing highly graphic and triggering images, some of which ripped out of her sketchbook as they became too much for even Sadie to handle.

She left her slump behind for an everlasting angry outlook on everything, determined to ruin everyone else's life to make her feel worthy again. Her motives were sad, but it was the complete and honest truth.

Sadie knew she had to get back home eventually, but she wasn't really prepared to face her consequences. This isn't the first time she ran away from her problems, almost every time she did something bad, Sadie hid. It was an instinct of hers to run away from everything. She thought that her fears and insecurities couldn't catch up if she just kept moving, so she didn't stop.

That was what got her in jail for an extra week after she tried physically running away from cops and failing almost instantly. She could only imagine how much trouble she would be in after running away for at least a week now, so she really didn't want to face the effects of her actions.

This is why she kept stopping, all of her senses just constantly overwhelming her to a point where she might lose focus on the road if she didn't pull over.

She was inching closer and closer with every town she stopped in.

She was completely and utterly unprepared.

A/N: Short again bc I'm hella tired. Goodnight to the lovely people reading this.
