Michael may or may not have been sitting in his basement, smoking in his underwear when he got a call from Jeremy.

"Hello?" Michael started giggling at the sound of his own voice.

"Are- are you high? Actually, uh doesn't matter. I have news."

Michael took a swig from the water bottle next to him. "Okay, tell me."

"So- this is kind of a lot of information. Apparently the police got a warrant to search Sadie's computer and all was well in the world, right?"

"I feel like," Michael started, forgetting where he was going with this for a moment. "this story isn't going to have a happy ending."

"Uh- no. Anyways, two officers went to her house and Sadie wasn't there, but her mom was. Apparently she left the officers to do whatever, came back, and shot one of them between his shoulder blades.

The only thing Michael could think to say was, "ow," dragging the word out.

"Yeah. So she was probably going to kill the other officer, you know- the one we talked with earlier, but Officer Baldwin shot her first, which was definitely reasonable."

In the background of the call, Michael heard a voice which he presumed to be one of Jeremy's family members.

"Jeremy! What's so important? Hurry up?"

Then, Jeremy spoke faintly, Michael barely able to hear him. "Yeah, okay. One more minute."

Michael didn't hear it, but he assumed that the door shut and he suddenly burst out laughing.

"Shut up. In conclusion, they found the footage, Sadie's mom and a police officer are dead, Sadie drove off who knows where, and- that's pretty much it."

Michael couldn't help but to snicker at how morbid the facts were. He didn't know how, but it was completely hilarious in his eyes.

Oh yeah, probably the weed. Michael shrugged it off and took another hit before putting the joint out.

Even Michael realized that was probably enough for the day, especially since he was running low.

It was late, so Jeremy's dad drove him back to their house. This past few days were probably the most time Jeremy spent with his dad in months- maybe even since last Hanukkah. Jeremy thought was actually kinda nice for a change, what with his dad not shutting himself in his room.

Jeremy noticed that his dad has actually improved a lot since his mom left, and Jeremy was proud of him.

They exchanged some awkward small talk about their lives in the duration of the car trip, but as soon as they got to the house they fell silent.

Jeremy was surprised with how tired he was, today was a long day. Going to the police station felt like it happened days ago when it really only happened hours ago.

"Time is a really weird thing if you think about it," Jeremy's thoughts were getting to that point. That was Jeremy's cue to hit the hay.

Thankfully, tomorrow wouldn't be as emotionally draining as today.

With that thought, Jeremy turned the light off and hopped into bed, falling asleep faster than he ever had in the past few months.

His dream was uneventful. Or, it could've been the most exciting dream Jeremy ever had, he just didn't remember. It probably had something to do with Michael, but most of his dreams did, so it wouldn't be any different.

Even though he was very much awake, this morning Jeremy just lied in bed with his eyes close.

It was nice to just think for a change, these past few months have been extremely hectic ones, and Jeremy barely had time to focus on his thoughts- the positive ones of course.

Sure, he was by himself a solid sixty percent of the time at the hospital, but he was too worried for his life to evaluate everything happening around him.

Again, someone his age shouldn't have to deal with things like this, but here Jeremy was.

He hasn't told anyone, but his nightmares never really ended. He usually either has really vivid nightmares or dreams he can't remember, there was rarely an in-between.

Jeremy actually didn't really have much to think about. His mind was blank, which was oddly soothing.

Jeremy was entirely relaxed when his moment of calm was interrupted by his phone ringing.

He picked up the phone, seeing Michael's contact displayed. He answered and was instantly met by an over-excited Michael.

"Hey, you down for some more junk food and cuddling?"

Jeremy suddenly forgot the slight annoyance he felt when he was interrupted. "Hell yeah!"

"Alright, come over whenever, I'll be there!"

"I'll be there soon."

Jeremy walked the short distance to Michael's house and was greeted with a hug from the boy.

"Hey, now that Sadie's missing in action, we don't have to be so secretive with our relationship thing, right?"

Michael stood there for a moment, confused. "Huh?" He barely finished creating the noise when something clicked in his mind. "Oh yeah! We can go on a walk later- if you want."

"Sounds like a plan! So, I heard there would be food?"

"You are such a dork."
