tw- abuse?

The next day, Jeremy went over to Christine's house. After their usual makeout session, Jeremy started to speak. "I know this sounds crazy, but I went over to Michael's yesterday and-" Christine was already glaring. "-he told me- and I didn't believe him, trust me- he told me that you threatened him..?"

Christine's face was bright red. She wasn't blushing however, she was filled to the brim with rage. So much so, that steam was practically coming out of her ears. Okay, maybe that was a stretch, but boy, was she MAD. The girl grabbed the collar of Jeremy's shirt forcefully, looking in his eyes. "He's lying, Jeremy. Trust me. You love me right?" Jeremy nodded frantically, replying. "Y-yeah I know..." Jeremy was always scared when people were mad, Michael knew this, but Michael wasn't here, was he? "I told h-him he was a liar and s-slammed the door in his face."

"And that's why you're my favorite!" Christine said sweetly, tapping Jeremy's nose with her finger, making Jeremy forget about her anger thirty seconds ago.

God, was he in love.

-

Michael couldn't help but to yelp whenever his thoughts were interrupted by repetitive loud knocking. Confused, he opened the front door to his house to see an extremely aggravated Christine.

She walked in and slammed the door shut.

Christine started shrieking "You little bitch!" "Can't keep a secret, can you?"

To say that Michael was terrified was an understatement.

"And you wonder why-" Christine successfully threw a punch. "-nobody loves you!" Another punch and a kick to Michael's stomach. "You worthless-" Michael crumpled to the ground. "-ugly-" more kicks and punches were thrown. "-pathetic freak!"

Christine didn't stop beating Michael up. "What a loser," she sneered.

Michael couldn't help but remember when Jeremy called him the same thing at the Halloween party. Michael began thinking to himself, wincing at the immense pain caused by someone so small. "She's right, nobody loves me." A tear trickled down Michael's face when he felt another kick to the head. Then, darkness overcame him.

Around an hour later, Michael began to stir. He couldn't help but to groan aloud at the pain he was suffering. Tears streamed down his face, but all Michael could focus on was how badly he was hurting. Emotionally and physically.

Michael heard the front door open along with the jingling of keys. "Please don't be my parents," Michael thought.

When he heard who it was, he would've preferred his parents.

"Hey, Michael? I wanted to clear some things up about the whole Christine thin-" Jeremy gasped at the sight. His friend was covered in bruises and scratches, and it made Jeremy sick to his stomach. "Who did this to you?" Jeremy quietly spoke, still in shock.

"Uh.. it was nobody, I'm fine!"

"Well you're obviously not fine, you're in pain. I'm calling Christine, she can probably help me here.

Michael cringed at the mention of his abuser's name "I-I don't think that will be necess-"

"Oh, no worries! it's what friends are for!" Michael was about to reply, "Why do you suddenly care," when he was cut off by Jeremy's voice on the phone.

"Yeah, Christine? I went to clear something up with Michael and I think someone beat him up? Can you come over to his house? Thanks." Jeremy went to fetch pain medication and bandages before Michael could say anything.

When Christine knocked on the door- softly this time- Jeremy greeted her with a peck on the lips. Christine came in and put on a fake, yet an incredibly convincing look of panic and confusion.

It was then, Michael remembered she was an actress.

"Who would do such a thing?" Christine gasped, paying more attention to Jeremy than Michael. Let's just say it was an incredibly awkward and painful 45 minutes for Michael.

Eventually, Michael just pretended to fall asleep. He pretended not to hear the sound of Jeremy and Christine sucking face. He ignored his aching heart and he pretended he wasn't in the worst pain he had ever felt.

He's dealt with much worse when it came to physical pain, but he had never experienced emotional pain this bad. All he wanted was for this to end. All he wanted was to treat Jeremy the way he should be treated. Jeremy must've thought that Michael didn't see the bruises on his stomach, which was much skinnier than usual. But Michael also knew how in love Jeremy was with Christine.

Michael remembered the bright sparkle in Jeremy's eyes whenever he looked at his (former?) partner in crime.

Michael noticed that Jeremy's eyes sparkled when he looked at Christine.

Michael also noticed how much duller the sparkle was.

A/N: Again, a pretty short chapter, oh well. Sorry, it will get happier soon- I hope.
