A/N: Be prepared.
Michael knew that something bad was going to happen if he couldn't get Jeremy out of there.
When he went to the restroom, he overheard two doctors talking about how Dr. Canigula went to visit his daughter in prison.
Michael knew how much that doctor despised Jeremy. He had to get Jeremy out of the place where many sharp medical tools were easily accessible, especially by doctors.
If the doctor was anything like Christine, he would be seeking revenge right this second.
Michael couldn't leave Jeremy alone, in fear of what could happen to him.
However, he couldn't stay next to Jeremy forever, Michael still had school.
Thankfully, it was a Saturday. Plus, one of the nicer nurses was on duty and Michael managed to convince her to let him stay overnight.
He was going to keep Jeremy safe.

Christine was able to gather that she'd been here for about a month, give or take.
A month with a minimal amount of contact with the outside world. A month without fresh air, without the soft breeze flowing through her hair.
Yeah, well how do you think Jeremy feels?
Christine threw her book at the squip, which obviously went through it.
"It was your fault, you know," Christine replied.
Yeah, I totally made you maim Jeremy when I was off. God, I hate when that happens.
"I should've just drank the Mountain Dew Red. Being extremely lonely probably would've better than this."
Or you could listen to me, just this once. Trust me on this one.
Christine rolled her eyes at the Squip, but she eventually agreed.
Perfect. Let's make this count. You have two days to plan.

Jeremy actually had a good dream that night, with zero interruptions. This was the happiest he's been since he ended up in the hospital and he never wanted this blissful moment to end.
The oh-so-beloved Dr. Canigula typically didn't have any shifts at the hospital on Sundays, so that's a two day vacation from him.
As oblivious as Jeremy usually was to things, he knew a storm was brewing inside of the doctor, and Jeremy only had a matter of time to figure out what it was.
Michael did literally everything he could to try and convince the staff to let Jeremy out early. He even attempted to bribe them, but it was useless. They weren't going to cave anytime soon, so Michael pretty much just gave up. It was all he could do.
Jeremy was currently scheduled to get out in a week, but that time apparently couldn't be cut short, even though his injuries have made a ton of improvement. He was almost able to walk without crutches, not to mention most of the cuts were only scabs now.
He hated scabs, he always has. Every time he would trip or fall off his bike as a kid, he cried, but not because it hurt. They actually rarely caused any pain for Jeremy. He would bawl because of how ugly the scabs were going to be. He admitted that it was pretty irrational, but he couldn't really help it.
Michael knew about this insecurity of Jeremy's, so he comforted Jeremy, steering his mind away from the scabs.
The two sat watching random movies on Netflix- it was one of their favorite pastimes.
They were fine in their own little bubble, out of harms way. They were each other's protectors, always helping when the other was in need.
Often times, they wondered why they didn't become boyfriends sooner, perhaps it was because Jeremy was stuck in the 'no homo' phase, still head over heels for Christine.
Now, Jeremy didn't know what he ever saw in Christine.
But he regretted liking her so much now, he was riddled with guilt every time he thought of it.
Michael was almost always there to comfort Jeremy when he was thinking about her.
-
Sadly, Michael had to go to school the next morning.
Although it was super early, he decided to wake Jeremy up so he didn't have to suffer his gruesome nightmares more than he did.
Michael vowed to be there as soon as school ended, not wanting Jeremy to be hurt.
Now, Michael wasn't the religious type, but he pretty much prayed that Jeremy would be okay while he was gone. He wished he could be there to protect Jeremy at all times, but he couldn't.
It was this reason- out of the many others- that made Michael hate school the most.
He just had to hope that Dr. Canigula didn't do anything to his boyfriend.
-
Christine had her plan perfected and memorized, thanks to her Squip.
Sure, it wasn't that complicated, but Christine was prepared for any outcome.
Before the Squip, Christine's internal alarm clock didn't work very well. Now, she could pretty much just set an alarm through her Squip and she would wake up then and there, which was an incredibly necessary part of the plan.
For now, all she had to do was wait.
-
Michael didn't speak to anyone all day. He was worried that once he started talking, he would dump all of his worries onto the other person, weighing them down.
So, he just kept his headphones on between classes and pretended to pay attention while in class.
The day dragged on longer than any other, seemingly taking years to end. Finally, the dismissal bell rang.
Michael bolted to his car, faster than he ever had. He drove to the hospital, holding himself back from speeding.
He ran into the building and up to the fifth floor, way out of breath. At last, he reached his boyfriend's room.
He walked in, smothering Jeremy in hugs and kisses.
"I'm so glad you're okay," Michael beamed, only now noticing Jeremy's confused look. "I thought he would hurt you, I was so worried all day."
Jeremy laughed contently at his boyfriend's protectiveness, glad Michael cared unlike his previous significant other.
The two chatted for hours. This is something they did often, they almost always had a wide myriad of things to talk about.
Eventually, the slushie Michael got at lunch kicked in and he really needed to use the bathroom.
It's been hours since lunch, but right now?
Michael, who was now satisfied, washed his hands and walked back towards Jeremy's room.
He entered through the doorframe, causing a smile to grow on Jeremy's face.
But then, Jeremy focused just behind Michael, smile vanishing and eyes wide in shock.
"M-Michael," Jeremy uttered as quickly as he could manage.
Before Michael could turn around to look at what Jeremy saw, all he felt was pain for a millisecond.
WHAM!
Then, Michael was enveloped in darkness.
-
Christine was asleep when she was given her plate of dinner, considering she had nothing better to do.
It's time.
Most of the other prisoners and guards were eating their dinner in the cafeteria at this point. Christine was still deemed too dangerous. How fitting.
Christine looked at the object she treasured as she held it in her hand.
After a moment's hesitation, Christine quickly dragged the match on the wooden frame of her bed, instantly covering the thin match in flames.
She worked at the speed of light, first catching the wooden desk on fire, then the bed where she was lying.
The Squip quickly made it so Christine was unconscious, but she still felt the flames lapping everywhere over her body.
She didn't hear it, but guards were screaming, ordering everyone outside. Ambulances and police were called, and the Squip watched as Christine's heavily burnt body was dragged away.
It was then when the glitches started.
-
Christine's dad had a highly malevolent look on his face. The assortment of scalpels and surgical knives in his hand didn't help Jeremy's fear level.
He thought one near death experience was enough, and he felt this might be the end.
Dr. Canigula walked towards Jeremy, not even hesitating before driving a scalpel between Jeremy's ribs.
He created three more stab wounds before the door suddenly opened.
"Dr. Canigula, there has been a fire at the prison nearby. It started in your daughter's cell, she's here now."
The doctor only now saw what was happening, thankfully it was one of the much nicer doctors.
Before she could say anything, Dr. Canigula was out the door, trying to find Christine.
Jeremy was losing and regaining consciousness ever so slowly, each time with it fading out longer.
Michael was starting to wake up, not knowing what happened.
The doctor barking orders for backup didn't help Michael's throbbing migraine, but he focused his attention on his boyfriend.
Michael instantly burst into tears.
It was then, Jeremy's consciousness faded out completely.
