The doctor gently nudged Michael, alerting him that visiting hours were over.

Michael reluctantly got up, careful not to wake Jeremy, he needed his sleep.

As they exited the room, the doctor looked at Michael as if he had suddenly grown two more heads.

"How did you do that? We tried everything!"

"Clearly not, I guess I just have the charm," Michael replied cockily, walking down the long corridor and out the doors.

"Wait," Michael remembered. "I'm on the fifth floor?"

His body started aching from the impact of the wall. His face turned red and he turned to the left, pressing the elevator button.

The doctor, who's friendly demeanor seemed mildly threatening to Michael, watched the scene unfold and mentally face palmed at the sight. "How charming," he tutted and walked away.

Jeremy was having the most pleasant sleep he had in a long time.

He actually had a super good dream where he and Michael went on the perfect date at the amusement park. Every single detail was wonderful, it was truly a magical dream.

As the two were going up on the ferris wheel, which was the last ride of the night, Jeremy's stomach began to sink. He shook it off though, enjoying the date as it was.

Their car stopped at the top of the ride. It was super cliche, but the two both had a gut feeling to lean in. Everything was happening in slow motion, and right before Michael and Jeremy's lips touched, Michael's image flickered.

Michael suddenly transformed into Christine and every light in the amusement park shut off. Their lips met, the kiss lasting for a few seconds, but all Jeremy could focus on was the metallic taste of blood.

The lights flickered back on and Christine started giggling uncontrollably. She seemed so, unnaturally happy. She motioned Jeremy closer and whispered into his ear, voice filled with bewilderment. "Look down."

Jeremy obliged, seeing Michael's bloody, lifeless body on the abandoned asphalt of the amusement park.

He looked back where Christine once sat, but he was met with an empty seat.

Before he could process anything, the ride mysteriously disappeared out from under him.

Jeremy felt the unfamiliar sensation of falling. He kept screaming at the top of his lungs, yelling for help. The asphalt kept growing closer and closer, Jeremy knew it was it. He was centimeters away from the ground, and then-

Jeremy bolted up, awoken by the door slamming open.

"What happened? You were doing perfectly fine when Michael was cuddling with you," the doctor mocked.

Jeremy's been in the hospital for too long. The overly cheery staff was starting to treat Jeremy like trash, as if that helped his emotional state.

Jeremy's demeanor changed.

"You made him leave, didn't you! You ruined the best sleep I've had in weeks, and it ended up just as terrifying as the rest!"

The doctor stood in the doorway, smirking.

"Do you actually think this is funny? You're a doctor! You're supposed to improve my health! Not knock it down more!"

Jeremy was fuming. This doctor was doing the opposite of what he should've been doing.

Now that he thought about it, he could see through the overly happy exterior of most of the doctors and nurses here.

They hated it here just as much, if not more than the patients. Having to experience death after death couldn't be an easy job.

But this doctor was different. Come to think of it, this doctor never tried to lie to Jeremy. While it was smaller at first, this doctor seemed to always have a distaste towards Jeremy.

"Oh, Jeremy. Didn't you know that it was past visiting hours? We couldn't have let him stay, we did all that we could, but-"

"He has stayed overnight with me before, you know that." Jeremy tried to cover up his seething rage, but he couldn't hold what he wanted to say through his gritted teeth. "You're a monster."

Jeremy was sure his entire face was red from anger, he was so sick and tired of this place.

"Sweet, innocent Jeremy. You and I both know that you are the monster. I mean, look at yourself! Screaming in your sleep, tearing yourself apart?" The doctor took a step towards the door.

Jeremy looked down, guilt pooling in his stomach.

"Y-you're right. I am the m-monster. I-I got myself into this mess." Jeremy was struggling to keep any ounce of the composure that he held before his dream.

"Indeed you are, Jeremy." The doctor walked out the door, but not before turning to face Jeremy again.

"By the way, it's your fault that my daughter is in prison."

His aggressive look turned serene before Jeremy could react to what he just said.

"Goodnight, Mr. Heere."
