We are arriving at what is supposedly the 'happiest place on earth'. I don't know who on this wonderful planet came up with that motto, but I already know that it's true.

As Shawn and I walk through the front gates, I can't help but feel extremely excited for what this day will bring.

We said that we didn't want Shawn's security guard - John, following us around so that we have some privacy. He's going to be in the park, though, and we will call him if we need him.

"Don't worry, you're not gonna get lost or anything, we have a map," Shawn laughs. "And phones."

"No," I laugh, "It's not that. It's just that I've never been here before, that's all."

"So this is your first time? I promise you that this will be one of the birthday presents of your life."

"Any day with you is already considered the best day of my life," I smile. "Which is basically every day, so... yeah." I giggle at my own awkwardness.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Ready for all of your dreams to come true?" he says, holding both of my hands.

"As long as you're here, they already have," I grin, getting lost in his beautiful brown eyes. "But yeah, I'm ready," I laugh.

"What's with you and all of your sappy, romantic comments today?"

I shrug, smiling. "I donno, guess I'm just in the mood."

"Okay, where do you want to go first?"

"I have no clue what is even in this park, so you tell me, Mendes. What would you suggest?"

"Hmm..." he thinks, "let's go to Space Mountain! It is the best place in the park, you'll wanna come back again," he says with a cute excited expression on his face.

"Let's go then!" I squeal. I can't contain my excitement.

"Babe, I'm scared," I say as we are waiting in the carts to go on the ride. Anxiety is building up inside of me.

"But I thought you loved roller coasters!" Shawn frowns.

"I do, but I don't like the dark," I admit. "Especially when I'm on a moving vehicle and I don't know where we're going."

"It's okay, you're holding my hand, I promise I won't let go, it's so much fun."

"Okay, I trust you," I smile.

"Wait, you do?" he whispers.

"What? Why?" I raise an eyebrow.

"You trust me?" he hints. "Trust issues?"

"Oh yeah," I smile, realizing what this means. This means I'm starting to get better.

"Passengers, please put on your seat belts on," the announcer says. "Remember, keep your hands in the vehicle, and enjoy your ride!"

We take off, and it's even more fun than I was expecting. The stars and planets illuminate the room, and at a lot of points, it seems like we're going to collide with a star, so I duck, but we pass right beside it. (a/n if you got that reference I love you & this actually happened to me when I went haha can anyone else relate?)



It all goes too fast though, and it seems like as quick as the ride started, it comes to an end.

"Welcome back, passengers! How was your ride?" the lady on the mic asks, followed by a bunch of cheers of joy from everyone on the ride. "Please take off your seat belts and exit to your left hand side. Enjoy the rest of your time here at Disney World!"

"That. Was. Amazing." I gape once we leave the building.

"I told you!" Shawn smiles.

"Okay, now let's go meet some princesses!" I suggest.

We go to meet Belle first, because she has always been my favourite Disney princess. When we get to the front of the line, We both pose for a picture with her, then I get one alone.

"Hey, Shawn, you should get a picture with her too," I wink at him.

"But you're my princess," he smiles cheekily, and we get a bunch of 'awe's from the people standing around.

I grin, blushing at the fact that a bunch of people heard that, "And you're my prince."

We also take pictures with Ariel, because she's Rachel's favourite, Mickey and Minnie, and Tinker Bell.

We take tons of pictures in front of the castle, then decide to go to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and do a few other things.

"Can we go get something to eat and then go on Space Mountain again?" I ask as we walk out of the Haunted Mansion.

"I told you you'd want to go again," Shawn laughs. "Of course we can."

We walk to this pizza place, and there isn't too long of a line, but we wait for a few minutes until it's our turn to order.

"Hi, what can I get for you today?" the clerk asks.

"One Hawaiian pizza please," Shawn orders.

"Okay, that'll be $18.63."

I put a $20 on the counter and before Shawn can say something, I do. "Don't. You buy everything for me, just let me buy this, please. You spoil me way too much."

"Okay, but today is my birthday present to you," Shawn chuckles, and the clerk gives me my change. "I like spoiling you, though, just know that."

"I know," I smile and sit down at a table. Our pizza is ready soon after.

Once we finish the whole pizza on our own, we head back over to Space Mountain. The line is a lot longer now, so we're gonna have to wait a long time before we get to go.

A few minutes into the line, a boy comes storming backwards through the line, clearly mad about something. Then a girl (I'm assuming his girlfriend) comes running after him. "Toby, please. Toby I'm sorry!"

"Wow, what's their problem?" I raise my eyebrows, giggling. Shawn is laughing too.

"Yeah, it looked like he was about to throw a fit," The girl that's in line behind us says, laughing to herself.



She has long dark hair, and wears a stud on the right side of her nose. She also wears makeup, but not too heavy. There is a guy standing beside her too, he has brown hair and green eyes. He's kind of short compared to Shawn, but the girl and him are around the same height.

"Right? That was so weird," I state, giggling. "I'm Emma," I say, holding out my hand to shake.

She shakes it gladly. "Kayla," she smiles. "And this is Troy, my boyfriend." (a/n I imagine him as Zac Efron, because Troy, get it? 😂)

"And this is Shawn, my boyfriend," I laugh.

"Nice to meet you," Shawn smiles.

"You're Shawn Mendes, right?" Kayla asks, and he nods, smiling. "I love your music. You're so talented! Emma is so lucky to have you, I'm kind of jealous, to be honest," she half whispers to us.

"Hey!" Troy slaps her arm playfully. We all laugh.

"No, but seriously. You guys are such a great couple."

"Well thank you," I smile, blushing a bit. "You guys are really cute too,"

"So where are you guys from?" Kayla asks.

"Toronto, Canada." Shawn answers. "Right now Emma is opening for me on my world tour."

"Oh, that's so cool! Canadian, eh?" she jokes, earning a laugh and an eye roll from the both of us. "We're from San Diego, California. We've been together for awhile now."

"That's so cool! We're coming there in a couple of weeks to do a show!" I tell them. Maybe we'll see them again. They seem pretty nice.

"Cool! We'll have to meet up!" Kayla says.

"Yeah, so I'm touring with Shawn, we got to be really good friends, and then I think we both realized it was starting to become more than that. We started dating, and we've been together for a few months now," I explain.

"That's so romantic," Kayla coos. Then we get to the front of the line and it's time for us to go on the ride.

The ride is even better the second time than it was the first time.

"That was so cool!" Troy says as we get off, and we all nod our heads in agreement.

Shawn and I spend the rest of the evening with Troy and Kayla. We go on some more rides and see some cool shows and stuff, and grab some burgers for dinner. After dinner, we find a gift shop and Shawn and I buy matching Mickey and Minnie Mouse hats. Once it starts to get dark, we all head back to the castle, because we heard there is a firework show later.

The castle is lit up entirely in purple, pink, and blue lights, and it looks spectacular. We find a place to sit in front of the castle, and wait for the show to start.

The fireworks start to go off, and I reflect back upon this day. It has been one of the best days of my life.

"Today was the best birthday present ever, I can't thank you enough," I smile, leaning against his chest.

"No problem, baby. But this isn't all! we still have two days of universal!!!" he exclaims. "And I may be biased as a Potterhead, but you are too so that's okay, I'll tell you that Universal is actually much better." he says. "Disney's a classic though."

"Oh really? I bet it is, if Harry Potter is involved."

The fireworks end, and we leave the park hand in hand. I got Kayla's number so that hopefully we can meet up in California. She also told me that her family has a boat and a private beach on the ocean, which is perfect for the deal Shawn and I made the other day.

When we get back to the hotel, I go to bed almost right away, I'm so tired. Shawn has been insisting to sleep beside me lately as well, because I think we're both scared that I'll have another panic attack like the last one.



I sleep like a baby that night.
