CHAPTER 44 - GUARDIANS' CONVOCATION

July 24th, 1995 (Monday)

There was a week left for the end of vacation and Andrea hadn't found a way yet to bring up the subject with her parents. She woke up decided to do it during breakfast this Monday. She would anticipate some details with Robert and Regina and would ask them to schedule a meeting with everyone involved.

Once she left the room, she bumped into Robert going downstairs.

─ Good morning, dad. I need to talk to you.

─ Good morning, honey. Let's have some breakfast while we talk. I have an important meeting now in the morning.

─ Is mom coming down?

─ I think so. What is this about?

Andrea was squeezing her fingers with anxiety.

─ Well, I'll need to change the plans a little.  I want... will... need to... anticipate my wedding with Ollie.

Regina walked in the room right in the moment and heard what her daughter said. She looked at her husband and interrogated Andrea.

─ What happened, honey? Why is it so urgent?

Andrea soon realized what was going through her parents' mind.

─ I'm not pregnant, it's not about that. At least, not for now.

Robert noticed her indecision and decided to interfere.

─ Honey, stop messing around and got straight to the point.  What's the matter?

Sonia showed up bringing coffee and Andrea gave her an afflicted look. Although she didn't hear the beginning of the conversation, she understood her cry for help. She went around the table, hugged her granddaughter and stood next to her. That made Andrea calmer.

─ On the day that I arrived at the farm, earlier this month, I had a dream with that gypsy that appeared here when grandpa died.

Robert and Regina looked at each other. Andrea continued.

─ She gave me a lot of information. Among them, she anticipated aunt Rosalee's death. She also asked me to talk to Ollie in a private place and tell him everything she had told me. Another thing that I didn't tell you is that, on my fifteenth birthday grandma Sonia gave me Clair Smith's journal and showed me the portrait.

Regina had an angry look to her mother.

─ Grandma asked me to read it and then talk to you guys about it. I don't know why, but I didn't. While I was reading the journal, there was an encounter with the gypsy in a square near the library. She clarified many questions I had. One of them was the importance of Ollie in my present existence. Don't get mad at grandma, mom. The journal was the best gift that I could have gotten, because it made me understand why I have visions, who was Clair, the reason for a sequence of events of the past life have repeated in this existence. I had the right to know I'm Clair Smith's reincarnation and that you two had already been my parents before.

─ Well, now your father is very curious to know what else the gypsy revealed to you in your dream.

Andrea took a deep breath and continued.

─ I'll keep it short, because I need everyone involved in this mission together so I can tell the facts more clearly. So, to sum up,there was been an acceleration of future events and I have to marry Ollie as soon as possible to bare the child that will have the assignment to accomplish the great mission.

The silence was palpable in the room. Robert was the first to say something.

─ Honey, do you have any idea how much this change will compromise your life, your career? Are you going to stop studying?

Regina, who had her forehead on her hands, lifted her head to listen to Andrea's answer.

─ No, I won't stop studying and neither will Ollie. Our careers are important to help on the mission. That's why the gypsy asked to gather the group, because all of us will be involved with the baby's arrival. Without your support, it won't be possible.

Regina looked to her daughter before asking.

─ And what does Ollie think about all of this? ─ Regina asked.

─ He thinks it is crazy, but the gypsy said that he was also given instructions during his sleep and, although he doesn't remember, he knows what it must be done.

Sonia sounded very calm and stated.

─ My dear, your parents are shaken by the news, but I'm not. I've learned with your grandfather to believe that everything happens for a reason and that we are a family chosen by God to accomplish something very important. I know your determination and I know you can handle it. I'll be by your side forever, the same way I was there for your mother through her difficult times.

Robert agreed with her mother-in-law.

─ Honey, your grandma is completely right. I need to leave now for the meeting because I can't cancel it. Schedule a lunch for Sunday with everyone who needs to be informed of your decision. You have and will always have our support.

Andrea collapsed with her father's words. All that secret was consuming her. The talk with Ollie, her aunt's death, the pressure to follow the gypsy's instructions, all of that was too heavy.

Robert got up and wrapped her in his arms, nesting her on his chest and mumbling words to calm her down.

─ Thank you, dad. I couldn't keep all of this to myself anymore. I wish I had told you sooner, but I postponed it too much because of everything that happened with aunt Rosalee.

Robert dried her tears carefully. Regina came near Andrea and, her words were full of emotion.

─ Honey, you are a shining being, who always helps and advises everyone. I was blessed with your shine since you were born. Common sense was never a thing that you lacked off. We can only support you in everything. We'll follow your guidance so we can help you in this process.

Mother and daughter kept hugging for a long time.

Robert said goodbye to all and ran to his appointment.

After she finished her breakfast, Andrea called Ollie first and then everyone involved, inviting them for lunch next Sunday.

So, on the scheduled day, everyone was together, and Andrea could, finally, tell the whole story.

She remembered to mention an important detail: the family's involvement with medicine and music was no coincidence. It had to do with the great mission. She also talked about all the gypsy's information about the discoveries that would occur on the 21st Century and how much music would help to cure people.

After the initial scare with what was reported, she got unconditional support from her guardians. There were her parents, the two of her grandmothers, her siblings, her fiancé Ollie, her uncle Edward with aunt Louise and Jackson with Maddie.

Andrea and Ollie's union would be in two months, only civil marriage.
