Without Regina's knowledge, Robert had scheduled a lunch on the farm on Sunday, a day after the party.

Walter would go with Sonia and Andrea and would meet them there. Robert's family had gone home very early so they could prepare the lunch for the guests.

After Saturday's event, that ended late at night, Regina and Robert went to a hotel. He had booked the presidential suite.

They left the shower and got into the tub.

The steam went up with the smell of the bath salts. The plan to simply relax was soon forgotten.

Robert took off her corset and underwear and threw them on the floor next to the tub. Robert woke up and looked at the clock: it was 9am.

He decided to wake Regina up, since the surprise lunch was scheduled for 2pm and he wanted to get there as soon as possible.

─ Shall we wake up, Sleeping Beauty?

He put the tray on the nightstand and leaned down to kiss her. Her lips were soft and tasted good.

Regina took a while to open her eyes and wake up. He started kissing her on her neck, chest, breasts, belly. She grumped and turned belly down. Oh! What a temptation!!!

When he parked in front of the big house, he realized Walter had already arrived. Regina was still sleeping. He opened the car door trying not to make any noise and ask everyone to stand on the front porch.

He returned to the car and opened the passenger's door. He kissed Regina while unclicking her seatbelt. She blinked many times to wake up and wrapped her hand around his neck. He took her out of the car, stood her up, with her back facing the house. So, he gave a discreet sign to everyone, and they all yelled: Surprise!!! Regina turned shocked about seeing her family there and Andrea came running in her direction. She picked her daughter up and kissed her repeatedly.

Robert picked Andrea up and the three of them walked to the front porch where Regina was hugged tenderly by their relatives.

They all spread around the sofas and chairs. Rosie brought some drinks and appetizers. They spent around forty minutes talking about last night's party.

Robert walked away from Regina and walked towards Edward. He gave him a nod and both left walking towards the stable.

Twenty minutes later, Robert appeared on the garden with a white foal, spotless. He called Regina to see it up close. She looked at the animal in a very passionate way and it gave her a little nod of acceptance.

She petted and hugged him. Andrea was right next to her, also amazed by the news. The girl had never seen such a small horse.

─ He arrived this week. It doesn't have a name yet. Would you like to choose one?

Regina gave Robert a huge smile and turned to look at the foal.

Closed her eyes for a few minutes and then looked back to the man that she loved.

How about Skylight?

─ Skylight... Skylight... Perfect!

Robert turned to the horse in a formal way.

─ Skylight, welcome to your new home. This is Regina, your owner. You are her birthday gift.

Regina was flabbergasted, didn't know what to say and tears were shining in her eyes. Andrea was also surprised and then said:

─ Mom, this is the greatest gift that you've ever gotten.

Regina threw herself into Robert's arms and kissed him slowly. No words could say more than that kiss. He was on cloud nine because of the happiness he had provided her.

Edward's voice was like a thunder, interrupting the couple with his mocking ways.

─ Stop with this indecency! There are children around.

Regina hugged Edward tenderly. He wrapped his arms around her.

─ I knew you would realize that I'm better than him. They both hear Robert mumbling and telling Edward to take his paws off his girl.

Andrea didn't understand a thing but laughed along with them.

Robert took Regina's hand and Skylight's collar and they walked back to the stable. Andrea went along holding her mother's hand.

From the front porch, Walter and Sonia watched the scene. The look they gave each other said it all. Words weren't necessary to believe in that miracle: the prophecy was being completed.

Robert left the horse to the horse keeper, giving him instruction to tame him for Regina. Then returned to the house for the big lunch.

During their meal, they talked about the wedding date. Regina suggested May, the bridal month and her favorite season, fall. Everyone agreed with her, except Robert who wanted to be sooner.

The date was settled for May 8th, 1982. They would need to check the church's and the party salon's availability.

After lunch, before they left, Regina went to the stable to say goodbye to Skylight and a very strong feeling took over her. She was already feeling something so deep for that horse that she couldn't explain it.

The night sky arrived filled with colors. The visitors said goodbye thanking for the hospitality and head straight to Goiania. Andrea went in her grandparent's car and Regina went with Robert.

On the road, still remembering all of the good memories that weekend had provided, she noticed Robert was quiet and seemed a little sad.

─ Is there a problem, Bert?

─ No, no problem.

─ Who are you trying to fool, honey? This silence of yours isn't common. You haven't even turned on the radio.

Robert gave her half a smile and took his eyes off the road to look at her for a little while. She already knew him very well.

He didn't want to say anything that could make her sad.

─ I feel devastated every time I have to be apart from you. I wish we could get married sooner, a month from now tops. We're still going to have to wait seven months.

─ If it's any consolation, I can guarantee you I feel the same way. But I know how much my parents have dreamt about this day and all they would like to give me. I don't want to frustrate them. Well, maybe I have a solution. I've been thinking about it for a couple of days, but I don't want to make you feel pressured or embarrassed. It's just something for you to think about, ok?

─ Yes, ok. What is it about?

─ Well.... what if... Regina silenced and looked out the window.

─ Tell me, Re. What is it about? What's your idea?

─ You move into my parent's house.

Robert looked at her a little scared and lost control of the car for a while.

Regina jumped.

─ Sorry, Re. That was a shock.

─ What's the big deal about it, Bert? I'm sure my parents would agree.

─ Re, this idea doesn't make any sense. I would never be comfortable in this situation. I'm a grown man, have my job, my independence. Imagine what people would say if they knew.

─ I don't care about what other people say. They don't pay my bills.

─ That's it, that's exactly how I would feel. Like your parents were doing me a favor, paying for my bills.

─ Alright, fine. You don't have to be mad. It's just an idea. I thought it could be fun.

─ Forget it!

On the rest of the way, they didn't say anything to each other anymore. Robert was even grumpier.

Regina was thinking about how her mood could change so suddenly. Those delicious memories disappeared from her mind and she could only feel a knot on her throat. A huge desire to cry. She asked herself: maybe the birth control pills are messing with my hormones.

When they parked in front of her house, Robert was still quiet. Regina stared at her feet for a while and then decided to open the door and leave. He grabbed her arm.

─ Wait, Re. We can't say goodbye like this.

Regina's eyes filled with tears and she did everything possible for him not to notice. She didn't want to seem fragile. She was never a crying person. It could only be those damn pills.

─ It's alright, Bert. It was too much too soon, a lot of emotions. We're tired. We'll talk tomorrow.

He turned off the car, pulled the hand break and pulled her to his lap so fast that Regina got scared.

─ There's no way I'm going home like this. I'm not a masochist. I need to know we're ok.

He put his forehead against hers, caressed her face with his nose and put his lips near hers without kissing. Stared at her.

They were both breathless.

That proximity made her feel butterflies in her stomach. How could he do that to her? How could he destabilize her so easily? He slightly brushed his lips against hers and she gave in.

She held his face with both of her hands and kissed him desperately.

He opened the door and they both got out of the car. She got on her tiptoes and kissed him again, pressing her body against his. He gave a strong slap on her butt. ─ Stop mistreating me, temptation! Go to bed, go.

A little sad she entered the house.

Robert took three deep breaths and got in the car. Thank God he was exhausted and would crash on his bed.
