7: What is Natsuki to me?
September 14th 2017
"I-Is everything okay, Jasmine?", the purple girl asked after noticing her classmate in front of her quickly packed her stuff even before the final bell rang and stood up immediately as it did. "Eh? Yeah, why?", the beanie hat girl turned to Yuri tilting her head.
"I-I mean you seem in a rush today s-so I wondered if anything happened?", Yuri asked a bit concerned while she too packed her stuff. "No, no, nothing happened haha, It's just I joined a club yesterday and I didn't wanna be late", Jasmine grinned.
"Oh, I see, well, h-have fun then", Yuri showed her signature polite smile which Jasmine replied with one of her own before hurriedly exit the room and almost run through the hallway for what Yuri could see through the window.
"Well, there goes one possible member less... Ahhh~ why am I so slow!", Yuri sighed in defeat as she too stood up and left her classroom to her own club.
...
Apparently her little chat with her brown haired classmate and friend had costed the purple girl her perfect record as the always first to arrive at the club now that she arrived to find Omiko and Erika already there together reading some thin book they immediately put down when she entered.
"I think that's Natsuki's manga she lent to Omiko last week... I wonder why they look so nervous and blushed all of sudden...", as she reflected on their reaction, Yuri simply waved hello to them and headed to her seat in the middle.
However, the tall girl didn't sit down just yet as she put her bag down and headed to the closet in the back as she thought, "Natsuki said yesterday I could grab her manga anytime if I wanted to continue reading... I admit the story has started to get me hooked but... If she sees me reading without her, would she like it? Would she be happy because I'm getting invested in the things she likes? There's only one way to find out".
The purple girl took a deep breath and carefully reached the box on the top shelf putting it on a lower one for her to be able to search better until she found the volume they left it on the previous day.
Yuri went back to her seat and quietly continued her reading. Being the fast reader she is, even through having to look at the drawings there, she finished a couple of chapters in a matter of minutes.
Then as she flipped the page, there appeared an interesting scene that finally made her reflect on the matter at hands as she took a moment to look at the scene of two girls holding hands while they happily chatted about cakes and walked through the city.
"I've been wondering for a while now... Why do these girls tend to do stuff like this? They hold hands, they hug each other, they even kiss each other on the cheek every now and then but I don't see any romantic tension or build up here. Hmmm is it something normal friends do with each other?", Yuri was certainly curious and thoughtful on the matter.
"Now that I think about it... Sayori does hug everyone just for the sake of it, I've also seen girls holding hands in and outside school but they don't seem anything more than friends... The kissing thing though... I think I saw it on a few TV shows too... Mmmm... If that's the case then...", the more she reflected on the situation, the closer realization was to the purple girl.
"Natsuki and I could.............................. W-What am I thinking now?!", Yuri first smiled at the thought but the more she thought about it, another realization came to her, making her shake her head and blush deeply, however that didn't stop her train of thought just yet, "Maybe kiss her cheek or hold hands is too much, but... We could still hug each other right? Sayori always does it... A hug from Natsuki....".
Yuri closed her eyes, letting her mind and body get lost in the imagination of how would feel having the arms of that short girl who would surely embrace you with delicacy on her.
Soon Yuri was daydreaming and quietly giggling to herself with eyes closed, "Ehehe... Sorry Natsuki, I just felt like it... You wanna hug me too? Go ahead... So warm... Mm?".
"I see you couldn't wait to continue! See how good this thing is now?? Which part are you on now??", the pink girl eagerly asked with a big smile on her face looking at the thin book Yuri was holding with one hand, however there was one crucial fact.
"N-Natsuki?! W-When did y-y-you-", Yuri who had turned into a purple haired red apple couldn't even finish her sentence as she realized Natsuki had her arm wrapped around her shoulder and her face was mere inches away from hers.
"She's so cute from up close and she's so close to me now AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!", Yuri's mind was certainly a mess now, making it difficult for her to speak as she saw the pretty facial features of her pink haired friend right on her face.
Her pretty magenta eyes, her light pink cheeks, her small nose, her pink glossy lips all framed by a pastel pink short hair that looked as soft as feathers, all of this reflecting on Yuri's violet orbs and engraving on her mind was more than what her nervousness could take.
"What's up with you now?", Natsuki asked a bit concerned as she removed her arm from Yuri's shoulders and started taking off her backpack. "No-Nothing", Yuri awkwardly smiled as she began fiddling with her hair trying to relax while a part of her grieved on having to say goodbye to Natsuki's cuteness from up close.
"Whatever then. Let's continue with our reading!", Natsuki flashed her canines with a cute smile and sat down next to her. "Y-Yes", Yuri nodded feeling her cheeks warmer again at this sight.
Yuri then took a moment to look around and see the rest of the literature club members doing their own thing. Ryou quietly reading on the seat next to the door and Monika, Sayori and Haru chatting happily around the teacher's desk.
"We all said hi to you when we arrived but you seemed so focused on the reading you didn't respond so we just let you be", Natsuki said. "I-I'm sorry about that", Yuri awkwardly smiled.
"Don't be! So? Are you liking Parfait Girls or what?", Natsuki asked with nothing but pure happiness and eager on her face like a puppy that greets its master arriving home. "I am", Yuri nodded with a sweet shiny smile and sparkly violet eyes.
More than liking the manga itself, what the purple girl loved about it now was how close it was bringing her and Natsuki.
Of course, Yuri would not say anything about this to anyone, not even to herself.

"Beautiful poem as usual, Natsuki-chi! I definitely need more lessons from you", Haru winked at the pink girl as she handed her back her poem. "Nah, you did well with this one, I think you got it now", Natsuki said handing her back hers.
"Natsuki-sensei~ I need you to teach me please~", Haru leaned forward, leveling her face with Natsuki's a little bit above as she let her cleavage do the rest, her gifted chest hanging on Natsuki's eyes. "Y-You don't", Natsuki looked away blushing hard.
"I do~", Haru joined her arms, squeezing her chest between them for Natsuki to see. "I can help you too", before the pinkette could bring herself to reply, the purple haired beauty appeared next to them with her hands behind her back holding her poem but her face showing nothing less than seriousness.
"Maybe some other time~", Haru bit her lip looking at Natsuki. "I'll go exchange with Sayori now", Natsuki sighed and finally escaped, leaving Yuri and Haru exchanging poems while the tension around them could be cut with a knife now.
==================
"Okay everyone! It's time to go home, thanks again for showing up and remember tomorrow we have cleaning duty, the two who'll stay for it will be decided randomly tomorrow so I suggest you don't make any plans after school", the white ribbon president announced as everyone packed their stuff and one by one stood up ready to leave.
"Can't we decide them now so only the two who'll stay don't make plans?", Erika raised her hand and asked. "Nope! I like the drama that comes with the moment, like imagine it's you and Omiko who are chosen?", Monika said cleverly with her finger raised pose.
"Heh~ Now I think I've never been looking forward to cleaning this much before", Erika giggled and winked at the mint green haired girl next to her who blushed madly. "I still think it's stupid", Natsuki sighed.
"You didn't seem that bothered last year when Yuri and you were chosen~", Monika giggled and the pink girl simply hissed at her. "Whatever, let's go Yuri, let's go Ryou- eh? Where's that fool?", Natsuki asked confused looking around for the red wine haired boy nowhere to be seen.
"He told me when he joined he'll have to leave 15 minutes earlier some days and he did just that today", Monika explained. "Well, who cares, come on purple Godzilla", Natsuki made her way out of the room with the purple girl behind, waving bye to everyone with an awkward smile.
"Bye, bye gorgeous ones~", Erika flashed a dazzling smile as she waved bye with Omiko behind. "See you tomorrow, senpais", Omiko gave them a quick reverence before following after Erika.
"Are those two dating yet?", Haru asked. "Hard to tell, but they will eventually", Monika replied with a hand on her hip.
"Let's go, Sayori", Monika said to the red bow girl as they too made their way out, however, the brunette immediately noticed the lack of bouncing behind them. "Sayori?", Monika and Haru turned around only to see Sayori smiling sweetly as she typed on her phone.
"Sayoooo! Who are you texting there?", Haru smirked as she approached the red bow girl. "N-Nobody! Hehe", Sayori blushed lightly and quickly hid her phone behind her by pure instinct.
"Come on, it's time to go home", Monika giggled from the door. "Big sorry!", Sayori gasped as she looked at the hour and bounced her way outside faster than light itself.
"Sayori! Wait for- and she's gone", Monika sighed and smiled as she watched the red bow girl bounce through the hallways until she disappeared in the distance. "Well it's just you and me now Moni-chan", Haru smiled as she wrapped an arm around Monika's shoulder.
"Hey! I told you yesterday to wear your uniform correctly! I'm going to report you now!", as they turned around, both girls looked at the white haired girl who angrily yelled and pointed at the blond gyaru.
"Come on, we gotta run", Monika quickly grabbed Haru's hand as both started running away between mischievous laughs. "Hey! Get back here!", Tsurugi shouted outraged before chasing after them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"King of fools!", Natsuki jumped and landed a stomp on her school cap friend's foot taking advantage of his distracted state while talking on the phone. "Ouch! Oh hey pink pal, wait a second.... Yeah dude, don't worry about it, I gotcha covered... Uuhuh... Sure thing, have fun then!", Gensai quickly shook off the pain and continued talking while Natsuki waited with crossed arms.
"Nats, Yuri-chan, good to see you again", Gensai granted them a signature crooked teeth smile. "Who were you talking to?", Natsuki asked curious.
"Jazzy, she told me she'll be late today due to her having to stay overtime to help with some things in her club", Gensai explained. "So... There will be no that today?", Natsuki asked lowering her voice.
"You ain't getting away dude, don't worry about it, I'll take care of her business in the mean time", Gensai thumbed up. "W-What are you two-", Yuri tried to ask but being cut off was now an every day thing for her.
"Nothing!", Natsuki and Gensai replied with great coordination granting her a couple of toothy grins. "O-Okay...", Yuri tilted her head doubtful whatsoever.
Excuse me!
"Anyways, let's g-?", the shorter girl found herself interrupted by a girly voice that seemed to come their way. "Please wait!", the same voice spoke and began to catch her breath finally for them to see as the source stood right in front of them, grabbing her knees as she panted.
Once she was done with that, she stood straight allowing them to meet a girl just a little taller than Natsuki, she had dark orange hair around her shoulders with a short ponytail popping out behind, dark brown eyes and square shaped glasses, all matching well with her delicate and naturally pretty facial features.
"T-Togashi-senpai!", the girl of dark orange hair called the name of the school cap boy while looking at him with her hands clutched on her chest Yuri style. "Yo! How's it going... Eh... Who are you again?", Gensai scratched the back of his head visibly confused.
"My name is Kiyomi Takiyama, I'm a first year a-and... I...", the pretty girl called Kiyomi spoke with hopeful eyes first but gradually her voice lowered and soon stopped. "A bless to meet you Kiyomi-dono! It seems you know my name already but I'm Gensai Togashi!", the school cap one grabbed Kiyomi's hand between his own and repeatedly shook it up and down with a big crooked teeth smile.
Natsuki did her best not to burst out laughing at the sight of the delicate girl having her arm shaken like that while blushing with the fire of Olympus.
"These two are my pals, Natsuki and Yuri who I ship with each- Augh!", Gensai began introducing the pink and purple girls only for the pink one to grab his goatee and pull it roughly, ripping a few of those hairs. "Ew...", Natsuki let go of him making a disgusted face as she shook the hairs of her hand and pulled out her handkerchief to clean it.
"Hehehe", Kiyomi who now seemed more relaxed began giggling which made Natsuki notice how utterly cute this girl could be, however she felt no treat whatsoever as her dark brown eyes seemed to be fixated on the school cap boy picking part of his goatee from the floor.
"I'll have to shave my goatee later", Gensai made a sad face. "You're welcome", Natsuki replied grinning.
"Don't be sad, Togashi-senpai!", Kiyomi, as unexpected as it was, trapped Gensai in a big hug, nuzzling her face on his chest, her eyes going wide open and the mad blush returning as she felt his pectoral muscles.
"Ain't she bold...", Natsuki was certainly impressed as she looked at Yuri who nodded in agreement, not any less impressed. "S-She was so shy a moment ago...", Yuri whispered still confused.
"Wahaha, thanks fella, I'll be fine", Gensai laughed full of joy as usual, gently patting the girl's back. "Guess the laughing he-!!", Natsuki tried to find an answer but as she spoke, she felt a pair of long arms wrapping around her like snakes and pulling her.
Natsuki's face burned with the flames of Hades as the familiar lavender fragrance entered her nostrils and strands of purple hair mixed with her pink hair as the taller girl gently pressed her cheek on the top of her head while she warmly embraced her.
"Y-Yuri", not any less flustered, Natsuki simply said. "Yes?", Yuri asked with her eyes closed trying to stay focused on the task at hand.
"What are you doing?", The pink blushing mess asked still tense. "I-I just felt like it, sorry", even though she apologized, the purple girl found herself unable to let go just yet.
"Nnnnnghhhh!! Oh yeah! I'm so glad to be alive!!", Gensai shouted fired up as he witnessed the pink and purple embrace, with the dark orange girl still clinged to him.
Both Kiyomi and Yuri's hugs lasted a few more seconds before finally letting go of them and take a few steps away from them to finally speak their mind.
"I'M SO SORRY!!", the two apologized with their all might, turning around and covering her now burning faces with her hands at the very same time.
Natsuki crossed her arms and looked away still red as hell while Gensai simply laughed.
"I-It was nice to meet you all, I-I'll be off now!", Kiyomi quickly bowed and ran away in the most girly way had Natsuki ever seen. "What a weirdo", the pink girl commented.
"You really don't hesitate to speak your mind wahaha", Gensai snorted. "Hmmm", Yuri pouted sad while fidgeting with her hair.
"Not you! Stop being sad!!", Natsuki grabbed Yuri by the collar of her blazer and began to shake her once again. "O-OkaaAaAY!", The purple girl did her best to respond.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Did you wait too much?", Sayori landed with style as she asked. "I don't know, this thing really helps kill time", Ryona said shaking the smartphone in hand.
"I told you getting a phone was a good idea!", Sayori bounced happy as both began their walk home. "I suppose", Ryona simply replied.
"What do you think of that screenshots I sent you earlier?", Sayori asked full of joy. "It was cool", Ryona cool and collected replied.
"I got a lot more! I'll send you more when I get home!", Sayori continued to bounce and orbit around her dark blue haired friend as they continued their usual walk home.

"Okay everyone! It's the moment you've been waiting for! Come one, come all! Come and draw a number that will settle your fate through luck!", Monika announced awfully excited as she stood on the teacher's podium with a small box in hand.
"You're really enjoying this, aren't you?", Natsuki asked tired of her shit. "There are only two of the same number so those who draw them will earn the opportunity to stay here an extra hour to clean up our classroom, together!", Monika continued her enthusiastic speech.
"I'm almost excited for having to clean~", Haru commented. "Okay! Haru do the honors! Don't reveal your number until I say so!", Monika offered the box to the blond gyaru.
Then, one by one drew their little piece of folded paper, some unfolding it discreetly to see their number, some waiting for Monika to give the indication.
"Alright, Haru, what you got?", Monika asked clapping her hands together. "7", Haru simply replied showing her paper, then one by one went like this:
Omiko - 9
Erika - 2
Ryou - 11
Sayori - 1
Monika - 13
Natsuki - 3
And finally, only the purple girl remained.
"S-Seven...", Yuri looked at her paper full of disbelief and defeat. "Oh my! Then it'll be Haru and Yuri!", Monika exclaimed excited.
"You gotta be shitti-", Natsuki muttered upset. "C-Can I change my turn with someone? I-I promise next time I'll stay without even drawing a number", Yuri pleaded as she cut off Natsuki's cursing to her surprise.
"No~ you know the rules! Anyways, that's all for today, have a nice weekend and see you all on Monday! Bye bye~", Monika happily dragged Sayori, Ryou, Erika and Omiko out of the club room giving them just enough time to bid farewell.
"I can switch with you if you want", Natsuki said with crossed arms and looking away, worried for her purple friend. "Heh~", Haru now sitting on the desk crossed her legs and bit her lip.
"N-No, it's okay, I'll be fine", Yuri who saw her intentions after a quick glance, immediately denied with her head and smiled at the pink concerned girl. "You sure?", Natsuki asked with concerned magenta puppy eyes that made Yuri's heart skip a beat.
"Y-Yes, you can go home, I-I don't want you to be out that late since you live far", Yuri found a good excuse to dismiss her pink clubmate. "Alright... You don't have to worry about me though", Natsuki huffed with crossed arms, her tsundere self gradually returning.
"Thanks for worrying for me", Yuri smiled sweetly. "It's not like I was worried for you or anything!", The pink girl asserted dominance the best way she knew how.
Yuri giggled and finally said goodbye to the blushing mad pink girl to then finally two literature club members remain.
"Let's get on with this, shall we Yuri-Yuri?", Haru said as she took off her blazer and wrapped it around her waist, only then Yuri finally noticed she had been wearing her uniform correctly until now that day.
"Okay", Yuri coldly replied as she did the same, only she carefully folded hers and put it inside her bag.
A few minutes into the cleaning, it was needless to say the tension inside the literature club was palpable as none of the two girls had said another word to each other, just doing their part fairly away from each other.
But the blond gyaru wouldn't miss this chance for anything, finally making her move as she pulled out her phone.
"Hey~ Just calling you to see how you were doing? You miss me already? .... I miss you too, Natsuki-chi~", Haru on the phone now sat on the desk as she talked, quickly catching the purple girl's attention who had been ignoring her at the mention of the pink girl's name.
Yuri quickly averted Haru's gaze and went back to her work, now just focusing her ear on listening carefully.
"Yeah, I'm looking forward to our date this Sunday~ .... I'll wear my best bikini just for you ♡", Haru smirked every time she averted Yuri's gaze everytime more upset.
"Date? What's she talking about? Why didn't Natsuki tell me anything?", Yuri had begun questioning herself.
"Yeah, me too... Mmhmm I'll let you touch them all you want~", Haru spoke now in a more seductive tone.
"Touch what? Natsuki and her are... No, no, no... She would've told me about it, wouldn't she?", Yuri's thoughts continued.
"A quick peek? How pervert of you~ I'm still on duty you know? ...... Alright, I guess I can go to the bathroom then hehe", Haru giggled and bit her lips as she continued talking on the phone.
"Why would she tell me though? It's not like we are... She doesn't have to explain her private life to me after all... Why am I feeling so upset about it...", Yuri gripped the stick of the broom as she continued to listen to Haru's conversation with the pink girl, her mind going blurry little by little.
"Sorry Yuri-Yuri! I'll be right back~", Haru said after hanging up and started making her way out of the room. "Wait!", Yuri quickly stopped her mid way with a firm voice.
"Yes?", Haru asked with a smile. "Where are you going?", Yuri asked, the anger she was trying to contain still visible on her face.
"To the bathroom~", Haru replied melodically. "To do what?", Yuri almost demanded an answer by her tone of voice.
"Hmm~ why are you asking me that? You heard me, didn't you?", Haru winked and grinned mischievously as she pulled out her phone and waved it in front of her. "If it's not important then wait until we're done here", Yuri replied frowning.
"Not important? It's for Natsuki-chi you know? We're going on a date this weekend in case you don't know~", Haru smiled mockingly. "Y-You are not", Yuri hesitated her answer but still spoke.
"Heh~ and why not? Because you say so?", Haru asked with confident crossed arms. "She didn't tell me anything about that", Yuri lowered her gaze trying to hide her upset face.
"And who are you for her to have to explain anything to you?", Haru asked. "I-I-I'm her friend", Yuri replied losing confidence little by little.
"Ohhh, so yeah, that proves she doesn't have to explain anything to you!", Haru giggled mockingly. "Why are you doing this?!", the feelings bottled up inside the purple girl finally started pouring out like water pass the boiling point.
"Doing what?", Haru asked confident. "Why are you taking Natsuki away from me?!", Yuri walked over to meet Haru face to face as the tears on her face could be seen better now by the blond gyaru.
"Taking her away from you? But you just said she's just your friend, didn't you?", Haru asked tilting her head. "Y-Yes but!", Yuri tried to find a good reason for this overwhelming mix of feelings that brought so much pain to her heart but couldn't just yet.
"Then there should be no problem if I make Natsuki my girlfriend!", Haru smiled cutely. "No! Don't!", Yuri almost begged as the tears wouldn't stop and the pain would just keep growing.
"Why not?", Haru asked with crossed arms. "S-She's my friend, the first true friend I've had, she's the only person that's been patient enough to deal with me, to spend time with me, to be there for me... Please don't take that away from me", Yuri covered her face and continued to cry, unable to say anything else that could make some sort of sense.
Haru just watched the purple haired girl cry, the pain in her heart was starting to reach her now, which finally made her sigh and approach her with a gentle hug.
"I lied", Haru softly spoke as she comforted Yuri, running her hand through her hair. "E-Eh?", Yuri now was full of confusion.
"I'm not having any date with Natsuki, relax, but girl... I certainly didn't expect this kind of answer from you", Haru sighed as she pulled away from the purple girl. "W-What? I-I don't understand", Yuri's tears slowly began to retreat as the confusion was overwhelming at this point.
"Sit down", Haru said gently grabbing Yuri by the shoulders and guiding her to a nearby chair, sitting on a desk herself. "Look, I'm not gonna lie to you here, when I got here and saw Natsuki-chi I really did get an instant crush on her hehe, like she's exactly my type, cute, pretty, girly, petite, ah! Sorry I started to deviate from the topic!", Haru blushed lightly.
"I was set to get her heart but that same day when she brought you to our classroom to join us for lunch I got the message loud and clear so I gave up", Haru sighed. "Message?", Yuri asked confused.
"Oh gosh, you really... Look, I don't wanna spoil anything, it's better if you hear it from her. But still, sorry to bother you with all the things I've done so far, I just... Wanted to help you two accelerate the process hehe", Haru smiled awkwardly.
"Process?", Yuri asked full of confusion. "Seriously... Look, I won't try to... Take her away from you anymore okay? But please, just please, put your thoughts and feelings in order okay? What is Natsuki really to you, ask yourself that question and get the answer", Haru placed a hand on Yuri's shoulder smiling sweetly.
"What is Natsuki to me?", Yuri spoke to herself, deep in thought. "Go home Yuri-Yuri, I'll finish the rest of the cleaning, take this weekend to think about it. Come on, go", Haru tilted her head towards the door as the now robotic looking purple girl deep in thought simply went to grab her bag and left the room mumbling something under her breath.
"These two really are slow to realize...", Haru sighed and smiled as she watched her go, then simply humming as she continued with the cleaning.
