A broken vending machine, the stairs, a manga and a book thicker than most and two girls sitting next to each other on the same step, reading each.
"Hey, when do you think they'll repair that vending machine?", asked the pink girl. "Eh? Mmm I don't know... I think it's been like that for a month already...", the purple girl replied after her reading was briefly interrupted.
"Well, the longer they take, the better", Natsuki mumbled. "Mm?", Yuri didn't hear that well.
"Nothing, I said nothing", Natsuki said as she continued reading her manga. "O-Okay...", Yuri replied and did the same.
A silence fell, but none of them minded.
"Look! This is my favorite part!", Natsuki said after a while, when she reached one of her favorite panels of the volume she was reading. "Mm? Let me see", Yuri replied, switching her attention from her pages filled with words, to Natsuki's filled with drawings and words.
The purple girl giggled in no time when Natsuki got all excited, explaining to her the context, paying attention to every word.
"It was certainly interesting", Yuri said. "Yeah, what were you on by the way?", Natsuki asked once she finished her rambling.
"Oh, I-I was just reading when they escape the lab and all...", Yuri replied a bit surprised she asked. "Heh... Doesn't sound creepy yet", Natsuki said as she got a bit closer, moving her head a bit to look at the book opened on Yuri's lap.
The purple girl felt Natsuki's shoulder touching her arm as she did, she could smell her strawberry scented hair from having her head right below her nose and for some reason, it all made her feel funny.
"Yuri!", Natsuki shouted, startling the purple one. "What?!", Yuri replied jumping and almost by pure instinct, grabbing her book for it not to fall off her lap as she jumped a bit.
"Hahaha! Nothing, you just looked like you were spacing out so I thought of scaring you a bit", Natsuki grinned. "I-I see...", Yuri replied embarrassed as she hid the lower half of her face behind her book.
But not even her embarrassment could distract her enough to not see Natsuki suddenly blushing and looking at her with soft magenta eyes as she did her usual shy gesture.
Without expecting it, they ended up looking into each other's eyes softly with that light blush across their faces and neither of them was sure whose fast beating heart were listening to under that welcomed silence.
"A-Anyway! Let's just... Keep reading...", Natsuki was the first to break out of the spell, shaking her head and dragging her body a bit further from Yuri again to then focus on her manga. "Y-Yes...", Yuri replied nodding and slowly putting her book on her lap again.
What Natsuki didn't expect, however, was Yuri now dragging herself closer to her as she resumed her reading, letting their arms touch softly.
Natsuki didn't dare to protest against that, nor did she want to.
The warmth she made her feel inside was something she hoped would never leave her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was no other option for her at first.
Ryona didn't need to ask nor did she care, all she was thinking of as she turned around and headed into that wall of fire was getting Mao's hands off her precious red bow girl who couldn't yet understand what was going on as her body frozen like a statue showed.
"AGH!!", but that huge octagonal rod had different plans for her. Sayori finally moved. Her eyes went wide open and her body instinctively trying to run to her girlfriend who had been smashed into a pile of stacked chairs near the wall, out of the fake cemetery bounds.
"You didn't hear me or what? I said our match is on!", Murph exclaimed as he walked towards her trying to get back up and raised his weapon high to smash her onto the ground like a nail. "Nnnngh!!", Sayori's desperate mumbles couldn't reach her but somehow Ryona felt them, glancing at her being held by Mao as she tried to break free.
Ryona quickly grabbed one of the folded chairs and lifted it above her head like a shield, stopping Murph's rod from nailing her to the ground.
"I insist, those are some very good arms", Murph said as he swung that huge rod around like it was a mere baseball bat and Ryona kept using that chair to block his attacks, growing more and more desperate as she glanced at Mao tightening her grip on Sayori's neck to stop her from moving so much.
"Looks like that chair won't hold on for much longer", Murph chucked as Ryona's chair had almost turned into a bowl already. The tough girl threw it at him but the american man easily homeran it like it was nothing.
"Come ooooon!", Murph exclaimed fired up and continued swinging around his rod while Ryona had no choice but to dodge it as fast as she could. However, due to the length of that weapon, she found herself troubled to close any distance between them to counter his attacks and after feeling the ridiculous strength of his swings through that now gone chair, she knew trying to grab it or block it bare handed was not a good idea.
Kyah!
"Just stay still already!", but soon, nothing mattered anymore. Ryona's eyes never stopped watching her red bow girl and the moment Mao had shouted that after briefly letting go of Sayori who refused to give up somehow, only for her to punch her right in the temple to knock her out, it all went red for her.
Mao felt her eyes like daggers on her, gulping but grinning anyway as she snapped her fingers and two red eyed individuals came out of the darkness, one of them picking the unconscious Sayori on his shoulder to then the three of them turn around and leave.
"Where are you looking- the fuck?!", Murph shouted mockingly again as he saw Ryona standing there death glaring at the other side of that wall of fire. He swung his huge rod looking to launch her into oblivion but to his surprise, the tough girl didn't move an inch.
His rod didn't move any further as if it had it a rock. Murph saw the nasty black swell forming on her hand after lifting it to block it, soon changing her death eyes from the now faded Mao onto him.
"Get the fuck out of my way", Ryona gave him one last warning. "Ha! I admit t- shit!", Murph was about to brag again but Ryona didn't have any time left to waste anymore.
The tough girl pushed his rod off her way and as Murph lost a bit of balance, she jumped for a superman punch right to his jaw. But Murph didn't fall.
Taking advantage of the close range now, he quickly pulled back his rod and tried to hit Ryona's head with the handle, however Ryona quickly and unintentionally dodged it as she got down to go for his legs, taking him down MMA style.
Murph couldn't keep his balance in time and dropped his rod only for him to quickly cover his face as Ryona got on top of him and started pummeling him with those fists like rocks.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck!", Murph shouted as Ryona's fists seemed to have no end, little by little pushing his own arms into his face as if he was trapped under some kind of rock that was about to crush him.
Ryona on the other side, felt the psychological effects of time against her as her mind continued to picture the worst scenarios the longer she took to go and save her beloved Sayori. Having enough already, Ryona had only one option now.
"Shit!", Murph exclaimed as Ryona suddenly grabbed his wrists and forced his guard off his face, pinning him by the wrists only for her to pull her head back and launch it onto him like a missile. "AGH!!", Murph shouted as Ryona's forehead smashed his nose, breaking it at once.
One after the other, she continued throwing headbutt after headbutt until she felt Murph previously tensed arms now like a pair of empty bottles as he finally faded.
Ryona didn't have anything to say, she simply got up and with her head now a bit clearer somehow, looked around quickly to then find a fire extinguisher in the back, near the kitchen. She quickly put down the fire and ran out of the cafeteria.
Dodging that rapier was somewhat easy to him now but what the top hat man really found challenging this time was that halberd that mixed with it.
Reine's fast stabs always were accompanied by the blade of that halberd that made it's way through them like a thunder amidst a storm. The hat man's spear had only been used to block that weapon everytime it tried to reach him while his body kept avoiding the rapier repeatedly cutting the air.
"You two... It seems you really don't recognize me", the top hat man said as he pushed the halberd up with his spear, making it push the rapier off the way too as both worked in unison, throwing both fantasy warriors off balance, but he didn't follow up.
The Golden Wolf set the change of strategy. Now going ahead, they tried repeated stabs to the hat man with remarkable speed and although they were not as fast as Reine's rapier, the hat man considered them more difficult to block.
"If I weren't trained under the same principle you wield your weapon against me-", he said while using his spear with one hand to block the halberd and then catch Reine's rapier trying to take his side between his fingers to then continue. "I'd probably be in a real pinch now".
The top hat man felt Reine trying to slid her sword to then jump backwards, looking nervous for the first time as he had now caught the Golden Wolf's halberd under his arm while having the tip of the spear pressed gently onto their neck.
It was hard to read the Golden Wolf's expression or anything else about them in general due to their armor and helmet but the fact they stayed still showed at least they were careful on their moves.
"It seems you haven't got all of it back yet", the top hat man said after waiting a bit more to then simply let go of their weapon, allowing the Golden one to regroup with their partner.
"I need to get you two back to your senses before they find out your true potential", the top hat man said as he calmly walked towards them resting his spear on his shoulder while the two fantasy warriors stepped back together but still in their respective stances, ready to fight.
"And for that I need to set your eyes free so you can see my face", the hat man began saying but as he was about to take his glasses off first, the two warriors suddenly dropped their stances and turned around.
"Huh?", the hat man said confused as he watched them head to the exit of the hall like nothing happened. He soon followed them too.
The music room, that piano and two girls again sitting there.
"Monika brought me here once to lecture me about something... I don't even remember what haha but I was curious to try playing this thing", Natsuki said.
"O-Okay then... We should start from the very basics", Yuri said. "Huh? No, no, I didn't bring you here to teach me piano you dummy~ I was only recalling that", Natsuki chuckled.
"I-I thought you...", Yuri said confused. "Nah, if you know how to play this thing I'm not gonna waste your skills by making you teach me", Natsuki said and began laying her body across the long bench they were sat on to eventually laid her head on Yuri's lap.
"Now play something while I take a nap, I didn't sleep well last night because of you", Natsuki grunted and nuzzled her face there, making Yuri tingly but happy nonetheless. "O-Okay love", Yuri replied with a smile as she brushed some of Natsuki's hair off her face.
The pink girl caught her hand in time before Yuri could retreat it, just to kiss the back of it and let it go. Yuri returned the favor doing the same with Natsuki's small hand.
Soon, a peaceful melody filled the music room. Through the windows the sun could be seen beginning to set, bathing the place in a orangish light while the warmth of an autumn afternoon embraced the pink girl whose magenta eyes began to close.
That lavender perfume accompanied her to the land of dreams where once again, she'd meet her purple haired girl.
In dreams or in reality, she was always there for her.
The sound of two swords clashing was something the three of them had already heard and what was more, something they had even already created themselves but for some reason, watching that huge claymore and that Damascus sword clash time and time again as those two tall middle aged men wielded them against the other, felt completely different.
The mastery they wielded their blades, the perfect angles the edge of their swords created as they joined briefly, the accurate timing they moved for the next attack and the immutable expression both had as they looked into each other's eyes defiant, was something the three girls still piled up on the floor could only mark as "next level".
Emerson, Kanefusa and even Catrina, all felt like children playing sword battles in comparison to those two ferocious warriors that surely had gone through countless battles now.
The messy ponytail one and the cat girl both were completely sure if they fought that alpha male, they'd lose.
So was Catrina about the mustache man, her will to fight immediately giving up to the mere idea of fighting him.
"Hah?", Emerson soon cocked an eyebrow as the alpha one clashed swords just once more before turning around and start walking away. "Eh?", Kanefusa too noticed something else odd as the weight that kept both on the floor soon disappeared only to look to the side and see Catrina always walking away.
"Dorian, wait!", Emerson shouted as the mustache man was about to slash the alpha male's head from behind, making him stop at once. "What's going on nyow?", Kanefusa asked confused as both stood up.
"I have no idea... Let's just follow them in the meantime", Emerson said and both the mustache man and the cat girl nodded serious to then quietly follow their two enemies in common through the school garden and beyond.
The sight her golden eyes caught was a strange one to say the least and yet, at the same time it included the word "average".
Before Mayu could use her sai to make Irina give up by pressing it against her throat, she saw Monika on her feet cheering up for her with a big smile on her pretty face and right behind her, sitting on the bench, an average looking boy of dark brown hair, wearing a simple black suit and yellow tie.
It all felt as if had happened in slow motion. The boy stood up smiling and pressed a white cloth on Monika's nose and mouth, while wrapping his arm around her neck. The brunette freaked out immediately but whatever that cloth had on, didn't take long to reduce her energetic struggle to look like a puppet whose strings were cut.
"Agh!", Mayu yelled in pain. However long she had taken, it had been enough for Irina to find a way out of the hold, transitioning Mayu onto her shoulders and slamming her to the ground with an inverted fireman's carry slam, also known as the burning hammer.
The impact received on the back of her neck almost knocked out the white haired girl but her concern for the girl of emerald green eyes managed to keep her awake.
A blurry vision and rocked brain made her saw two combat knifes coming to her face only for them to stop just mere inches away. She saw then two Irina's that slowly began merging into one as she followed the average boy who carried Monika bridal style out of the court.
Her only hope as she body struggled to respond her was Kai but all she saw was a similar sight.
The red haired boy rocked on the floor trying to get up while the black and gold beta calmly walked away following the other two.
She could hear him whistling even.
After a minute that felt like an eternity, Mayu's brain finally recovered, allowing it to properly command her body to get back up without slipping or stumbling.
Both Mayu and Kai didn't need to speak a word. Saving Monika was their only priority now.
"The literature club... It really hasn't changed a bit", Natsuki said as she stood at the door of the club, holding her girlfriend's hand next to her.
"It's like this place is isolated from the world... Like a piece of our reality floating amidst an endless aurora borealis...", Yuri added at the sight of their old special club.
"And it seems being here gets you all poetic haha, come on, let's do this, we don't have all day like back then, remember?", Natsuki said and dragged her girlfriend inside. "The usual corner?", Yuri asked as Natsuki dragged her to the back where the closet was.
"Yep!", Natsuki exclaimed, quickly taking off her backpack, putting it on one of the dusty desks there and pulling out a book called "The Outsider" while Yuri pulled out a piece of cloth to shake the dust off the floor where they soon proceeded to sit on.
"Well the only thing that changed was the dust, there wasn't this much back then", Natsuki said and coughed a bit. "Yeah... Still, it's really nostalgic to be here again", Yuri said looking around the empty club from their usual spot.
"Rock, paper...", Natsuki chanted, preparing her fist. "E-Eh? Ah, wait!", Yuri said taken by surprise as she gripped hers.
"Scissors!", Natsuki drew paper while Yuri didn't get to draw anything in time and left her fist closed. "Ha! I win, paper beats rock", Natsuki grinned victorious.
"But I didn't even...", Yuri said awkwardly. However she soon was silenced as Natsuki put the book in her hands to then wrap her arms around her and rest her head on her chest. "You hold the book this time", Natsuki said.
"Okay...", Yuri replied with a happy smile, opening it and landing a soft kiss on the top of Natsuki's head to then rest her chin gently there as both began reading together again.
It was a silent afternoon that day in the literature club where only a couple of sounds could be hear from time to time.
The sound of pages flipping.
The sound of occasional soft kisses.
The sound of a relaxed sigh and breaths.
But there was one that never stopped and that was the sound of their hearts throbbing for each other, like it was always meant to be.
"You really know how to use that sword", Gensai said while breathing a bit heavy through his nose. "Likewise, that staff has only become deadly in your hands", the masked man said, breathing the same.
"Heh, how flattering!", Gensai exclaimed as he began spinning his staff like a propeller, faster and faster that it actually looked like he could take off at any moment. The masked man did however impress him once again in more ways than one.
What Gensai had thought were ornaments of his swords handle and a ring around his middle finger turned out to be a whole as the masked man suddenly threw his sword at him in a perfect straight line to not only cross the rotating staff like a bird trying to fly through a fan engine but also stop right above his head seemingly floating at least until Gensai saw the now extended chain connected from the sword's buttcap to his middle finger.
Gensai turned around only to find the tall sumo club vice president with his face pierced by that wudao sword, frozen in time with a piece of broken glass in hand.
"How unlikely... You let your guard down", the masked man said calmly as he pulled back his sword, which made the frozen red eyed man of great belly drop dead behind Gensai. "Why did you...?", the school cap boy asked concerned and confused.
"...Who knows", the masked man replied and then just turned around to walk away. "Oy! Where are you going?!", Gensai shouted to no avail, the masked man didn't stop nor did he reply.
The mysteries behind his new apparent rival only seemed to increase every time they met, however, as many questions Gensai had, they had to be put aside for now.
He simply followed the masked man afterwards.
A momentary fire cease had occurred as both their skulls had began reaching their limit.
A crimson mask covered the face of those who were equal in power but neither of them had let go of each other's hands yet, knowing they'd continue until the very end soon.
Or so had Jasmine thought.
Suddenly, she felt Xia's grip loosen up and then gone. The beanie hat girl took her stance quickly but to her surprise, Xia had dropped hers already and took a step back.
"We'll have to settle this some other time darling", Xia giggled and calmly picked up her weapon. Jasmine didn't understand why but for some reason, she allowed her to do so now after they had almost smashed their heads into a pulp because of that.
Xia walked past her and as she got out of her sight, she also saw Rinne getting off Kanae, picking up her sickles and following Xia afterwards, both acting like nothing happened.
Kanae's frustration had to be put aside as she never found a way to turn things around on the ground, standing now looking at her girlfriend who nodded at her.
All the bloodlust had gone now.
Jasmine and Kanae quietly followed their rivals which also didn't seem to bother the other two for some reason.
And even in battle, she was beautiful.
That's what Natsuki thought first when she watched captivated how her girlfriend wielded that strange yet magnificent scythe.
The fierce expression on her face was beautiful.
The way she held that blade was graceful.
But most of all, the confidence and power she irradiated was captivating.
Natsuki then saw Yuri run and jump, raising that scythe high above her head like it was nothing, looking to split the red woman in half who was getting back up after being hit by that weapon.
The red woman unfortunately again, rolled forward, dodging the attack and getting behind Yuri as she landed and missed, but the purple girl quickly turned around at the same time she looked to slash the woman in two, only diagonally this time.
The red one jumped backwards to avoid it to then immediately attack Yuri with a series of fast paced stabs, similar to fencing, however the purple girl found herself surprised too as she quickly blocked all using the snath of he weapon, matching the woman's speed.
Although Natsuki couldn't believe what her eyes were seen at first, Yuri soon thanked that top hat man in her mind for that restrain he removed and improved her reflexes in a way she now just got to comprehend.
Yuri then hit the woman using the heel of her scythe, striking her hip right before the red woman tried to switch her strategy to a closer ranged one. At the same time, Yuri followed up by pulled her scythe back and trying to cut her in half again, only this time by her waist line but the red woman to her surprise jumped and landed right on the blade of her weapon.
Not letting herself be impressed by her opponent's great balance and precision, Yuri pulled back her scythe but the red woman quickly jumped along and landed a diving thrust kick to her face.
Landing right in front of her and out of Yuri's scythe range, the red woman struck Yuri's stomach with her knee making her bend over a bit and hit her head with her sword's buttcap to then finish by sweeping her foot and take her down.
"Yuri!", seeing her girlfriend starting to lose the upper hand made Natsuki snap out of her captivated state, trying to get up but feeling the pain of that wound the red blade made on her still bleeding and open.
The pink girl quickly removed one of her gloves and pressed it against it to stop the bleeding and getting up. Thankfully the red demon didn't get to pierce deeper through her, making the wound a little less painful.
Then, as she got up to go in Yuri's aid, her eyes one again opened wide when she saw her girlfriend lift that scythe with just one hand and immediately raise from the ground like a classic zombie from their grave, as if some mysterious force pulled her back up.
Yuri quickly hit the red woman with the rib of her scythe to try and create some distance between them but the red one blocked with her sword, the impact somehow was strong enough to make her body slide backwards on her feet.
"Hyeeeeah!", Yuri let out a loud warcry as she lifted her Scythe above her head and looked to cut vertically in half her opponent. The red woman instead of backing off, moved forward with a dash. "No!", Natsuki shouted as she aimed to stab Yuri again now wide open as her scythe got stuck in the gym's floor.
But once again, the power of literature saved the purple girl.
Yuri quickly grabbed the Necronomicon she kept attached to her waist, using the thick book to stop and then deviated the red blade, throwing the red woman off balance enough to follow up by letting go of her scythe and push her away with a powerful front kick to her stomach.
"Woo! That's my girl! Ouch...", Natsuki finally voiced her support to her surprisingly strong purple girl, feeling the effects of her wound however.
Yuri's fierce expression disappeared for a brief moment as she heard those words.
Her violet eyes sparkled and that long awaited feeling of pride and joy finally invaded her soul.
"Watch out!", Yuri shook her head and refocused quickly as the red woman was getting back up. "Come...!", Yuri still didn't get the full grasp of it but she tried replicating what she did earlier when she threw that scythe like a Boomerang, which somehow worked as the weapon stuck itself out of the floor and allowed Yuri to wield it once again.
"You'll pay for what you did to my Natsuki!", Yuri shouted as she charged and jumped again looking to slash that red demon in half.
For some reason, those words were something Natsuki felt like she had listened before as the image of her father also came to mind.
Like a distant, different reality where Yuri had said the same or perhaps just a dream she didn't remember well.
"Huh??", Natsuki didn't get to dig into the matter too much as she noticed the red aura forming around that demon's body as she lifted her blade and stopped Yuri's scythe with great precision. "How...??", Natsuki muttered as Yuri landed and started blocking now faster attempts of slashing attacks with the snath of her weapon.
The red woman found a opening and kicked Yuri in the stomach, returning the favor from earlier. The purple one gritted her teeth and hardened her abdominal muscles still in progress but enough to withstand the impact, although that didn't stop her from stumbling backwards.
That red aura embedded the woman of the number 2 almost completely as she charged for a dashing stab which Yuri didn't have time to step aside from this time or her book to block it, preparing to guard against that dangerous attack.
Enough!
And amidst the chaos and thrill of battle, a voice emerged, stopping it all.
The red aura of the second star began to disappear as she suddenly dropped her stance. Yuri and Natsuki froze like two children caught drawing on the wall by their parents.
The lights went out for 7 seconds.
No noise was heard.
Yuri and Natsuki didn't dare to move.
The lights came back, two white lights that illuminated the silhouette of two individuals that stood at the other side of the gym.
Two unconscious girls were on their knees in front of each.
One had a red bow and peach colored hair and the other was a brunette.
Yuri and Natsuki carefully began walking closer to each other, until their hands found each other in the darkness.
Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 started playing through the gym's speakers as third white light appeared between the two individuals, brighter than the others.
The silhouette of a man bathed in that brighter white light, he raised his right hand showing five fingers and at the same time he raised the left, showing only two.
"Seven!", his voice was heard again, that voice that echoed in the darkness and came from the light.
A new light appeared to his far left where a young woman with half of her face made up as the Mexican representation of death along with a number 7 tattooed there stood, crossing her two blades in an x over her chest.
"Six!", His voice exclaimed again with great presence as his left hand curled one finger.
Another light appeared from left to right, next to the woman of the two blades where now a blond man of stylish beard, wearing a biker attire and for some reason, a bloody nose and swollen face. The right shoulder showed a number 6 tattoo as he held a long octagonal rod in front of him.
"Five!", his voice spoke again and the left hand became a fist that he soon put down.
Another light appeared from left to right next to the American man where now a woman of red beret with a number 5 tattooed on her thigh and holding two combat knifes stood.
"Four!", as he shouted, the right hand now being the only one in the air, curled one finger from the five.
As a new light appeared from left to right next to the red beret one, two individuals now showed up, like pulled out of an epic fantasy book, a Golden knight and their queen stood back to back wielding their halberd and rapier respectively.
"Three!", he exclaimed and one more finger went down.
As the new light appeared, a masked man of red crest stood there, a number 3 tattooed on his left forearm and a wudao sword held by the right hand, resting on his broad shoulders.
"Two!", the energy of his voice only seemed to increase as another finger curled up.
The new light that appeared next to the masked one showed now the most familiar to them now as that red woman of the number two on her breast stood holding her red blade with both hands pointing at the pink and purple girls who squeezed each other's hand.
"One!", with only one finger raised, he exclaimed.
The last light from left to right appeared and a muscular woman of orange hair with her bladed whip wrapped around her arm stood and turned around a bit to slid her coat down her shoulders a bit to show the number one tattooed on her back.
"To these seven stars also seven fates had intertwined", the man said with grace as he put down his arm and then extended it showing his palm which made a another white light appear as a straight line across the seven stars.
Natsuki and Yuri were a bit startled as they now found themselves lined up with all of those they could call friends.
To their left, a beanie hat girl stood glaring serious at the first star across her.
To their right, that school cap boy was standing, looking mysteriously at the masked man across him.
Next to him, the top hat man stood with crossed arms across the Golden Wolf and their queen.
Next to him, a white haired girl who gritted her teeth stood, glaring daggers at the red beret one across her and also the individual behind and to that man's right, petting Monika's head with a grin they couldn't see but somehow knew was there.
Next to her a dark blue haired almost red from anger stood across the sixth star, not looking at him however and only gripping her fists as she couldn't move due to the other individual next to that man's left, now better seen, a girl who had her red bow girl there.
Finally, at the end of that row, a girl of messy ponytail had appeared looking concerned and for some reason, wearing a strangely familiar cyan blue and red leotard and her loyal cat girl of magenta hair standing behind her.
None of them seemed to be aware of the presence of their comrades there, all just glared at their fates across them aside from the pink and purple girls who soon felt like they had no other choice but to do the same and look at that red demon across them.
"And just like the x, y and z, alpha, beta and gamma also come across as part of the same equation!", He exclaimed opening his arms at the same time three lights appeared.
Only Natsuki and Yuri were curious to see.
At the west entrance of the gym where the first light was stood a girl of bow headband and black girl while another of dark cyan hair stood in her way.
At the east entrance, the new light showed a boy of red spiky hair and sunglasses while a tall black man of golden like hair stood in his way.
And last but not least, they turned around to see the South entrance's light that showed a thick mustache man standing face to face with a man of long hair and beard both tall and powerful looking.
"Two main characters, two main obstacles", he opened his arms again as the two white lights next to him became clearer for them to see the average looking boy and girl next to him who stepped aside only to grab Monika and Sayori by the hair and lift their heads enough for their necks to show well.
"And with this sword and their existence gone, the path for a New World will open once again!!", at last the brighter light became clearer for all to see that man who pulled out a classic long sword from his back.
He was tall and had blue hair, stylish with long bangs over the right side of his face where his right eyes was no more, winking eternally at them. He wore a white jacket that had no left sleeve and showed a burned yet greatly muscular arm and even with those battle scars, his handsome features were still a trait worth mentioning.
It all happened in less than 3 seconds.
As he held his sword with both hands over his right shoulder to slash Monika and Sayori's heads, neither of the 11 warriors there had to say a word to each other.
They all ran with the sole purpose of saving those two girls who only had brought joy and meaning to their lives in more ways than one, however the wall of fate to overcome was just as strong as their will.
As Jazzy tried to go through Xia, Natsuki and Yuri through the red woman, Gensai through the masked man, Top hat man through the Golden Wolf and Reine, Mayu through Irina, Ryona through Murph and Emerson and Kanefusa through Catrina and the alpha, beta and gamma elements stopped the x, y and z, all of them started to realize all hope was lost.
In a different world that is.
The sound of clashing metal echoed throughout the world that night as two forces beyond time and space encountered once again.
The man of the burned arm and missing eye changed his attack at the very last moment, his sword going over Sayori and Monika's head as he continued and fully turned around for his sword to clash with the one a woman of dark Purple hood had swung his way to cut him in half.
"You're finally here...", the man said grinning at her and as they jumped over the two girls and the two average characters to battle in the eye of the storm, at the same time they made it stop.
The Head and him clashed swords only three times before the dark purple hood fell of her head and finally revealed what stopped the storm.
The first thing they all recognize was that pastel pink hair, longer now and tied in two long braided tails.
The second thing, those furious magenta eyes that looked at that man in the only eye he had left as their swords clashed.
The third and newest thing, four scars on her right cheek, like the scratch of a tiger she certainly wouldn't lost too.
It was clear to them this was an older version of her but they all said her name in their minds.
"Natsuki"
After their third clash of swords, the future Natsuki had only one thing to say as she prepared to go for it all.
"Roderick Reinhold! I will delete you from this world!".
"Not tonight", Roderick replied with a grin, dropping his stance and snapping his fingers for all to go pitch black again.
The lights came back, fully this time.
The 7 stars, the alpha, beta and gamma, along with the two average characters and that man had gone.
Standing in their place was that pink haired woman, holding both the literature club president and vice president, protecting them from being taken away.
The brief silence that fell was only broken by the rushed footsteps of Mayu and Ryona who hurried to check on their respective beloved girls.
That Natsuki stood up and allowed them to do so while she quietly let her her magenta eyes travel across all those familiar faces who looked at her like they were seeing a ghost.
The next two to step up were of course, Natsuki and Yuri themselves.
"Who are you...?", that was the only logical question to ask. The Head glanced at everyone else one more time before replying as she withdrew her wakizashi sword, turning it into that trusty umbrella always attached to her waist.
"I'm Natsuki, I am you and you are me", she said, magenta eyes looking into each other and they were exactly the same. "And you... Are her", the older Natsuki said as she looked at Yuri who looked at her still not sure of what she was seeing now.
"I think it's about time they all know the truth", Gensai spoke. "All of us here are now involved and set to see this through the end", Jasmine added, looking at the rest of their friends there who looked back at her, unable to deny anything of that statement.
"You're right...", Natsuki sighed and as she touched that scar on her cheek with her fingers she then said, "it all started... When the world as we know it ended".
And then, it all came to mind.
The memories, the past, present and future that had driven her to this very moment.
At last, we got to this moment fellas.
This story will now be on hold while a new one will open and finally tell the story of a new world.
All the mysteries and the reason for the Natsuki, aka the Head to be here will be revealed there.
So if you wanna know what really caused all this mess, be sure to wait and read the upcoming story which will be called, "Dawn of a New World".
And yes, it all revolves around Natsuri to an extent beyond great heights.
As usual, thank you very much for reading this shish, you're all beautiful and those who comment and vote always motivate me to write more and more 🙏🏿
Long time since I've done this but it's character showcase time, the last ones for now.
None other than the Head, Natsuki herself, an adult Natsuki if you want to call her that way.
And the root of all evil in this story, Roderick Reinhold who I am set to make you hate with every fiber of your being 😬
With that said, I hope to see you all in the New World soon 🖖🏿
That is all!!
