Adithangi & Sanikilamai- Maari's henchmen.
Devi-Maari's love interest
I'm thinking to add Sai Pallavi as well. Just in case.
Haha. so I'm super bored and here it is a story that came to mind while I watched the film again.
.
.
PART ONE:
.
.
.
Devi talks to Maari at his place. They're standing on the terrace where the pigeons are kept.
Devi says, "I already apologized to you. I really regret what I did... I just had to I thought you were a bad guy-"
"I am a bad guy," Mari says with a laugh.
"Are you? Most people won't even admit it aloud. So i think there's something special about you-"
Mari looks at her and she can feel her pulse rising. His eyes are hidden behind his usual shades, which gives her courage to speak up.
"What I meant to say is... I... I really think you're a good person. Despite the way you pester local people. The lie from earlier has now turned into truth. I really like you."
Mari pauses for a moment before laughing out loud.
"Listen ma, these things don't work for me. Love, romance, I'm not born for those things. I don't need a woman in my life. I've got my guys, and those people for time pass. So... please! Forget it. If you wish though, we can be friends, like in the start, huh?"
Like rubbing salt on a fresh wound, Maari begins to leave.
Devi smiles to herself. She swears silently, "do you think that'll make me give up on you? Never. I love you, dummy. And I'll make you mine."
She blushes at her thoughts. What has gotten into her? She was never so desperate for a guy and here- Maari, you - you are bad for my heart...
.
.
She descends the stairs trying to find him only to run into his henchman. They give her unfriendly looks and when she asks where Maari is gone. They warn her to keep her distance.
"We won't let you hurt Maari anna. He might allow you here. But we can never welcome you. Ni po maa.."
A little hurt, Devi leaves the place.
.
.
.
The next day when Devi arrives at Maari's place, his henchmen stop her yet again. They want her gone.
"I won't mess with your affairs or let alone try to bring Maari down. Let me feed the pigeons. They have become dear to me over these days.... So please..."
Just then Maari passes by asking what's the matter.
Devi explains, "Maari. These pigeons are dear to you, aren't they. You say you've got nobody besides them. Well, you and I are no different. I've got a family but still got nobody. Will you let me continue to see the pigeons?"
Maari looks perplexed for a moment. Then says, "do whatever you want. I think I already said that-"
Too soft, Maari's companions think but never voice it aloud.
Devi goes to feed the pigeons happily.
Maari murmurs to himself witnessing this- "at least, her love for the pigeons is genuine."
.
.
.
The next day and the day after that Devi continues to drop by Maari's place, seeing the pigeons, interacting minimally with the guys.
She feeds a pigeon couple sitting in one of the compartments. Making sure she's alone, she talks to one of them, gently taking it in her hands-
"Your owner is an irritating guy. Do you know that? No he's gentle to you... but... he's very unforgiving and rigid. He has his reasons. But well, he's like that because he doesn't have a girl in his life. Once he falls in love, I'm sure he'll turn into a softie he is... no more tough exterior..."
She laughs to herself settling the bird back in its place.
Finishing her work, she exits the building without bumping into any of the guys.
.
.
.
Outside, On the street-
Several vendors line up the footpath from across the road, selling various items- flowers, fruits, accessories.
One old lady selling flowers calls out to her.
"Eh ponnu," she starts speaking in fluent tamil, "you keep visiting Maari's place everyday? Why is that?"
"Oh," Devi answers, "I look after his pigeons."
The lady gives her a look.
"Um, so... I'll tell you a secret. Just don't tell anybody ok?" Devi replies softly bending down to whisper in her ear, of course in tamil, "Actually I do it for Maari. Because I love him."
And then she walks away grinning.
.
.
.
Sometime later-
Fruit Vendor- She what?
Puja store owner- She's in love with him?
Rikshawala- Who loves whom?
Auto Anna- Maari? She loves Maari?
Mechanic- What's there in him to love?
Vegetable vendor- Poor Girl..
.
.
.
Two days later-
Devi is walking towards Maari's place. Of course she can hear people whispering about her and Maari. It only makes her shy and she blushes wishing it would become true someday.
She shakes her head...what's just happening... she isn't some love sick teenager! She owns a boutique! On that note, she should stitch a shirt for Maari sometime.
She's happily lost in her thoughts when she feels someone's glare on her back...
Then she hears an anguished shout...
"Oi!!"
She tenses up, turning around...
.

.
.
.
.
.
To be continued.
.
.
.
AN: I know many were happy with Maari being single in the movie in the end but they had their chances. Haha, anyway, I just thought I'd put down my plot even though how ridiculous it sounds to write a fanfiction based on a tamil movie... I dunno most people would choose Harry Potter no? Oh I write on HP too, mostly Druna. OK babbling ends.
.
..
Also I wanna add a new character from Maari 2- Sai Pallavi's character of a girl who's madly in love with him. Now that's a twist. No??
.
.
.
FIN!
OK you can say I'm Kajal's fan... XD i REALLY like her more than Dhanush actually :D :P
