I walked out onto the streets of Alexandria with two cups of water in my hands, looking around the area for both Rick and Tobin while they worked on repairing some parts for the wall.
I started jogging down the street when I saw both men walking side by side, finally catching up to them and offering water with a smile. "Does a quick water break sound nice?"
Rick and Tobin turned to face me, smiles falling on both of their faces as Tobin was the first to take his cup. "Thank you, Sienna."
Rick slipped his arm around my waist and took the second one before placing a gentle kiss on my temple then chugging down his water. "It hit the spot perfectly, thank you." I smiled in response to both of the men.
It wasn't long before we started hearing an odd sound of metal scrapping that we turned our attention ahead of us, seeing Spencer trying to hold himself up on a wire and get across the walls.
"What the hell?" Tobin muttered before the three of us started running towards the scene where others gathered around.
Rick was the first to run up the ladder to the watch stand and started to call out to Spencer as I quickly followed, taking a stance beside him.
"Spencer get your ass back here now!" I snapped, glancing down at the walkers just several inches under him.
"Spencer move!" Tara suddenly yelled out from down the wall, gathering my attention as I noticed she and Eugene were pointing towards the hook that was keeping Spencer up.
It was slowly starting to slip from the roof across the way, causing the rope to start creating some slack.
"Spencer!" I shouted as he was now grabbing onto the rope by his hands and his feet just barely touching the arms of the dead.
I felt the instinct to want to reach out and grab him but it was impossible from where I was standing. The rope was starting to give out bit by bit until it finally snapped and Spencer dropped to the ground.
"Spencer! Come on!" Rick shouted, trying to hurry him towards the wall from above as gunshots started popping off from beside us.
I quickly turned my head and saw Tara using her gun to gather the walkers attention as best as she could, taking down the ones closest to Spencer.
Rick grabbed the rope and put his footing on the edge of the wall, using all his strength to help Spencer climb the wall with the rope that snapped.
My chest was rising and falling at a heavy pace, my instincts told me to start leaning over the edge and hold my arm out for Spencer to grab onto. "Come on! Take my hand!"
The gunshots continued and suddenly Tobin was by our sides to help pull Spencer back up with ease.
When he was finally on the platform, Rick looked towards our savior and shouted towards her. "Tara! You almost died once for these people!" I looked up at Rick then towards our friend as she furrowed her eyebrows in disgust. "What?"
I quickly stood up straight as Spencer got to his feet and Rick continued to shout at Tara over the growling of walkers. "What the hell were you doing?!" In response, she held up her middle finger and I mentally face palmed at her reaction before turning to Spencer. "Lost a damn shoe," he sighed.
Rick looked down at Spencer with his eyebrows furrowed, sweat collecting all over his face as he angrily pointed towards the walkers. "What was that?"
"I was trying to help," Spencer sighed, rubbing his hands on his jeans. "I wanted to get to a car, draw them away."
I watched Rick leaned down towards Spencer, "you ever make a climb like that before?" I bit my bottom lip as the others remained silent around us, noting Ricks anger and frustration. "You want to help? Don't make us come running to save you. You got an idea, you come to me."
Spencer stayed silent for a split second, taking in his words before meeting his harsh gaze and replying calmly. "Would you have listened to me?"
"Doesn't matter," I finally spoke up, placing a hand on Ricks arm in hopes to help him calm down with the reminder of my presence. "Everything should be discussed as a group — you could've died without help, and then what? It was stupid." I let out a sigh and started making my way down the ladder as the men followed after.
Rick and Tobin were quick to get back to fixing the wall and putting up wood to keep it standing while Spencer walked off, probably to talk to his mother.
I walked up to Rick just as he pinched his bad hand on the wood, blood starting to form from underneath his wrap and I quickly yanked another fresh roll from my back pocket.
He turned his stance in front of me and raised an eyebrow at my gesture as I started to fix his wound. "You have that on standby?" I glanced up at him with a small smirk and started wrapping his hand with the new bandage. "Only for you — can't be too careful. It's always something."
"Hey, you guys seen Denise?" Rick and I turned around as Tara came walking up to us, just a little out of breath and her hands now on her waist.
I pressed my lips in a firm line and shook my head, "no, I'm sorry."
Rick remained silent as Tara started to walk off but I gave him one quick look with a raised eyebrow and he nodded knowingly.
"Tara, wait." He called out before jogging towards the girl.
I hummed to myself before picking up the hammer Rick was holding and stood beside Tobin. "This is where he was working?" I asked politely, and he nodded his head with a smile. "Yeah right there, watch your fingers."
I nodded my head and got down on my knees as I started to continue Ricks work. I caught Tobin glancing down at me every now, checking out my process and then finally speaking up. "Have experience with this?"
I shrugged my shoulders lazily before smiling softly, "I helped my dad on the farm back then. Our barn was old and she would need a few repairs, even our fences." I used the corner of my arm to wipe the sweat from my forehead and looked up at Tobin. "Even when everything went around, I took on as much as I could. Help repair what was broken, hunt, even try to learn some medical skills." I turned my head back to the wood and continued hammering in nails one by one. "In the end, it was worth it. I'd rather work my ass off for all the experience then sit back, have none, and be no help."
Tobin turned back to his piece and nodded his head, replying in a soft chuckle. "Rick is a lucky man."
I hummed softly and smiled, "yeah, I know."
We both shared a short laugh as we went back to the process of fixing up the walls, the only sound being heard was the banging of our hammers until the sound of wood cracking caught our attention.
My eyebrows furrowed as I looked at my work, trying to find the source of wood snapping before Tobin grabbed my arm. "Get back! Get back!" He shouted and I stumbled on my feet, grabbing his arm in response once I looked up and noticed the watch tower was starting to fall straight back in our direction.
"Sienna!" I heard Rick call out from somewhere in the back.
Tobin and I quickly started running away from the watch tower as it crashed onto the ground and the wall was torn open, separating us from the others.
Smoke and dirt clouded around us — my lungs immediately filling up and forcing me to choke on it repeatedly.
"What do we do?!" Tobin shouted and I started to push him backwards, eyes wide and full of fear. "Nothing! Run!"
The both of us started running to the first building behind us, our bodies practically slamming into the door as I grabbed the handle but it ended up being locked.
I slapped my hand against the window in frustration before grabbing Tobins arm and leading him towards the back. "Come on, don't stop!"
The bodies started to grow larger and larger, stopping at nothing to follow after us with gunshots echoing in the distance.
I quickly pulled out my hand gun and started popping out several rounds, taking down only a few. But with my stop to react towards the horde, Tobin and I drifted apart and started to get cut off towards each other.
"Tobin! Get into the house!" I pointed to the one behind him as the door opened and someone started to pull him inside. He called out to me to get to him but there was no way I could get around them.
I cursed under my breath and shot off another round before I picked up my feet and started running again.
I turned to my left and decided to go down an alleyway to get back to the others and away from the wall. Just as I rounded the corner, my body collided into another and I looked up to see my husband.
"Rick!?" I whisper shouted and his hands immediately held the back of my head and my waist. He then hushed me quietly with a finger to his lips before grabbing my hand and leading us away from the walkers.
"Deanna!" He shouted, reaching out for the woman as she tried to fend herself off from the walkers.
I noticed the side of her body was covered in blood but decided against the possibilities as I quickly pulled her into my body.
Suddenly Michonne and Gabriel were at our sides with Carl and Ron following behind. I switched Deanna off to Rick and reached for Carl, his hand grabbing for mine in panic and he quickly matched his pace with mine.
The walkers were starting to surround us in a circle until Jessie started shooting down the ones in our path. "Come on, I have Judith!" She shouted and the seven of us ran up her porch and jumped into her house before slamming the door behind us.
Carl and I let go of each other's hands as Rick rushed Deanna up the stairs and into a bedroom to lie her down. "Get your sister!" I yelled out to Carl, racing up the stairs to find Rick and Michonne tending to Deanna in a room. "Jessie, get whatever medical supplies you have and bring them to me." I looked towards the blonde in a rush and she nodded in understanding before I paced into the bedroom and kneeled down.
Michonne was adding pressure to the cut on Deanna's leg as Jessie came up and dropped supplies onto the floor. I quickly yanked my belt out from the loops and started to tie it above the large gash on her leg, giving it pressure before handing Michonne some towels to hold the bleeding.
"Ow," Deanna muttered tiredly and I looked at the woman apologetically. "I'm sorry, it's going to hurt." I picked up another towel and lifted Deanna's shirt, quickly applying pressure to her other wound as she hissed in response.
"How is she?" Rick asked as he came running into the room while panting.
"No offense to your wife —- but whatever she's doing, hurts like a son of a bitch." Deanna and looked at each other and I smiled briefly, shaking my head. "You're doing good, you're strong. It looks like your leg is the worst —- " I slowly lifted the towel with my eyes trained on fresh bite bark on her side.
The smile slowly falling from my lips and the older woman caught on to my silence, looking down at her wound before leaning back against the pillows.
I looked up at her and noticed a few tears silently roll down her cheeks before she sighed. "Well, shit."
