Michonne watched Rick carefully as he started to wake up from his sleep on the single lumpy mattress. His face was covered in small bandages to cover his cuts from the fight he had against Pete.
Glenn's group was on their run, only for things to get turned over in an instant. Noah had died from an attack of walkers, leaving Glenn to just barely make it out alive. Tara was injured, resting in the infirmary while Nicholas walked around trying to convince everyone he did what he could to save the rest of them.
Deanna refused to have people go out on a search for Sienna even when Glenn and Maggie begged her to let them go. But after Rick's outburst — Deanna put Alexandria on lock down.
Rick placed his hand over his face, letting out a deep sigh as he started to adjust himself on the bed before sitting up completely.
Michonne narrowed her eyes at the man before leaning forward with her elbows on her thighs. "Rick," she called out to him with a stern voice, catching his attention immediately. "What are you doing?"
Rick looked around the room carefully, taking in his situation before looking towards Michonne. "Where is she?" Was the first thing he asked, resting his arms across his knees. "Is she back? Did she make it back? Is anyone looking for her?" His voice was equally as stern, panic rising in his heart again as Michonne shook her head and leaned back. "Glenn is trying to convince Deanna, he's going to look for her."
Rick shifted into the mattress, preparing to stand up with a groan leaving his lips. "I'm coming with."
Michonne stood up from the chair quickly and tilted her head to the side. "You're not going anywhere. Not like this. Deanna wouldn't let you."
"I don't care," was all he muttered.
"I care." Michonne spoke angrily, pushing him back down on the bed before taking a seat again on the chair. "If Sienna saw you acting like this — you know she'd kick your ass Rick. Stop it." Her stress levels were already high enough, taking it out on Rick but didn't expect to see him smile at her statement.
Michonne sighed heavily and shook her head. "It's Sienna we're talking about, she's not just some weak girl. She's alright I know it." Her head tilted curiously before gesturing outside. "What happened out there? Why did you attack Pete?"
Rick brought his hand to his face with a slow drawled out sigh. "I thought I saw — " His head shook lightly, realization settling in that he completely slipped. Similar to how he did back at the prison.
"Okay, let's check your head. Headaches would still be normal, just take it easy the next few days. Don't go running into war or something." Madison chuckled softly as she started replacing the bandages with fresh ones, checking my wound along the way while fixing my hair. "Try not to wash your head for a while— let the swelling calm down." I nodded my head in understanding while adjusting my jacket over my shoulders. "Lets get you up, carefully." Madison insisted while taking my arm and guiding me to my feet. "How do you feel?"
I carefully brushed my fingers through my hair and released a small sigh. "A bit loopy, but it'll disappear soon."
"Can you remember where you live?" Madison grabbed her jacket and we both started making our way towards the loft door.
I nodded, "I'll guide you once we get towards the town."
When we got outside, I could see the walkers from last night disappeared. Probably taking their slow adventure to bother someone else. I almost forgotten about the accident — almost forgetting about the person who tried to kill me. But with all the commotion and my near death, I couldn't see their face let alone a simple license plate in case I were to ever see the suv again.
Madison brought us back towards the town and my accident, letting me retrieve my weapon and map from the damage. Luckily no one else was around, but we kept cautious just in case anyone were to make a return.
"You think it was on purpose?" Madison asked from her window of the car.
I looked up from the wreck and towards the girl, slightly shrugging my shoulders. "Not sure. I don't want to believe it was — would seem pointless to do so." I walked across the broken glass and got back into the car, buckling my seatbelt. "But then again, everything I've seen — I wouldn't doubt it."
Madison looked over at me and pressed her lips into a firm line. "You've been through a lot haven't you?"
I sighed heavily, "I wouldn't wish my pain on anyone." I glanced over at the girl as she started to drive down the familiar road. "Not even on my worst enemy. It was too much."
"How'd you do it?" She asked softly.
"Do what?"
"Survive," Madison glanced over at me for a brief moment before turning her attention back to the road.
I shifted my gaze out the window and bit on my inner cheek with a slight shrug. "I'm still trying to."
The rest of the drive was filled with small talk, a few questions Madison had from my travels, about the kids and even asking about the ring on my finger.
The car slowly came to a stop as Madison hit the break in front of the large gate. I could see Spencer peaking through and I immediately rolled down the window, waving my arm to announce that is was just me. I then turned to Madison and gently smiled at the girl. "You could always come join us. There's room here."
She looked over at me with her hands now placed on her lap, "Thank you, for the offer. I appreciate it truly but—I don't think my heart is ready to settle down yet." She smiles wide and slightly shrugged her shoulder. "There's still more I want to see."
I laughed softly and opened the car door, glancing back at the girl. "If you're ever back around here, just ask for me."
Madison nodded, "Good luck sienna."
I stepped out of the vehicle and started making my way towards the gate as Spencer opened it. He smiled softly at my presence before nodding towards Madison. "You're okay? Who's that?"
I looked back at Madison as she started to back the car up before turning herself around. "A friend," I turned back to Spencer and sighed. "I'm okay. I—I just want to see my family."
Spencer gestured me inside the gate before closing it it behind us then gently putting an arm on my shoulder. "Sienna, your head—We should get this checked out." I carefully took his hand from my shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile. "Please, I'm fine. Don't worry."
"Sienna!"
I looked away from Spencer and noticed Michonne running towards me with Maggie at her side like the speed of light.
"Sienna!" Maggie shouted before reaching my figure and wrapping her arms around me tightly. I sighed heavily and returned the gesture, closing my eyes briefly before pulling away. "You're alive!"
I tiredly nodded my head, the throbbing in my skull making its return. "I am."
Michonne placed her hands upon my face, inspecting every inch of me before her eyes finally landed on the bandage around my head. "You need a doctor? Anything we can help you with?"
I shook my head and gently pulled her hands away. "I'm fine, just tired. Where's Rick?" I began monitoring the area before guiding myself directly towards the house. "Carl? Judith?"
"Wait," Maggie nervously spluttered. "We need you to come with us, it's — "
"I want to see the kids," I picked up my pace, shaking my head again and the girls quickly followed after me. "Sienna, listen to me, it's important."
I jumped the few steps onto the porch and practically jumped through the front door, swinging it open and watching Carl jump up from the couch in panic. "You're back!" His eyes went wide and I could see Judith's figure crawling around in the floor.
I ran towards Carl and brought him into my arms tightly, embracing his warmth as Michonne and Maggie entered the house.
"Where'd you go?! You said you would be back before dinner!" I pulled away just enough to bring my hands to hold his face, sending him a apologetic glance. "I'm so sorry. Carl, I'm sorry."
I quickly turned when I felt Judith grab my leg, small cries escaping her lips and I immediately reached down to scoop her up into my arms. "Oh baby," I frowned, gently leaning my head against hers. "I'm so sorry, the both of you."
"What happened?" Carl asked, looking between Michonne, Maggie, and I. "You were gone for so long. Your head it's—"
I took a deep breath and walked towards him, "I was in a car accident. It was pretty bad, but I got help. Someone helped me and I stayed with her for the night. She took care of me." Judith's cries finally had stopped as I cradled her against my chest, her head lifting and falling against it with comfort as Carl pulled me in for another hug.
When he pulled away, he looked up at me before glancing towards Michonne. "Did you tell her?"
"Tell me what?" I looked down at Carl and narrowed my eyes at him. "What's wrong?"
"Rick got into a fight with Pete," Michonne softly started to explain. "He started worrying about your absence—Jessie was being abused. Sounded like the perfect way to take out his anger."
My lips parted in shock, looking between Carl and Michonne as Judith rested her head against my chest again. "It got pretty bad, almost killed him." Maggie added. "He wasn't himself — took several of us to pull him off of Pete."
I exhaled heavily and adjusted Judith on my hip. "Well, is he alright? Is he okay?"
Carl nodded, "he has a few cuts and bruises but he'll be alright."
I nodded my head firmly before gently handing Judith off to Carl and started walking towards the door. "Good because I'm going to kick his ass—"
"Sienna wait," Michonne grabbed my arm and quickly pulled me back. I met her stressful stare and watch as her shoulders slacked tiredly. "A lot happened while you were gone. There's going to be a meeting tonight, what they're going to do about Rick. Just—" Michonne gently took my hand and nodded towards the couch. "Come sit down, we'll explain everything."
I stood in front of the door of the home that they were keeping Rick held. Almost like an amateur prison cell to keep him away from everyone.
Three other guys were standing outside with guns, holding a conversation like they were there casually but I knew it was for Rick.
Deanna wanted to be cautious.
I opened the door to the tiny apartment and slowly stepped inside, greeted immediately by unpainted walls and dusty floors that needed to be worked on. I shut the door behind me and turned into the room where a chair rested beside a bed.
When I looked up towards the window, Rick had just turned around to face me, his hands resting on his hips before they dropped.
Without the light on his bruised face, I could almost see the tears forming in his eyes as he made his way towards me in a rush.
"Sienna." My name cracked in his throat when his arms wrapped around my shoulders tightly and I quickly clutched onto the back of his white shirt. I tucked my face into his firm chest and I closed my eyes.
I didn't say a word, but I felt his body shake as if he was silently crying to himself. Only causing tears to form in my own eyes being tightly embraced in his arms.
Michonne told me about Rick's incident with Pete — how it really started.
How Rick hallucinated and thought I was getting hurt by Steven. As if all the adrenaline in his body was pumping too much blood to his head and caused him to react violently without being aware.
Rick slightly pulled away, pushing some hair out of my face before holding my head in his hands. He leaned down and our lips met together in a desperate need.
I could feel his thumbs lightly brush the tears away before I forced myself to lean back and get a glimpse at his face.
"Your head." He inhaled deeply. "You're hurt. What happened? Who did this to you?" Without dropping his hands from my face, he tilted his own head towards the side.
"I was in an accident, it's fine—I'm fine." He exhaled slowly before resting his forehead against mine carefully. "Don't you ever leave me like that again."
I furrowed my eyebrows and nodded, gently rubbing his back with reassurance. "I'm sorry."
As he lifted his head to meet my gaze, my smile slowly dropped and I sighed heavily. He knew what I was going to ask. What I probably already knew, thanks to Michonne. He heard it from everyone else, but now he had to hear it from me.
"What happened Rick? What did you do?"
