Lilly's POV

I screamed when I saw a car coming right towards Hayley. Everything after that happened so fast!

I heard Caleb scream and I saw him run towards Hayley. He pushed her and didn't move in time.

The car smashed right into him. Caleb went flying towards the wall. I screamed as his head hit the wall, and he fell to the ground like a rag doll.

The guy who was driving the car came out and looked shocked at the damage he did. I saw Annie run towards Hayley as I ran towards Caleb.

I sobbed as I saw blood trickle down his face, coming from his head and nose. The guy who hit Caleb called 911, and seconds later two ambulances came rushing down the street.

I crouched next to Caleb as the paramedics came rushing in with a stretcher. The other paramedics went to inspect Hayley.

All I could do was cry. I cried as they lifted Caleb into the stretcher. I cried as I saw the blood stain from his head on the sidewalk. I cried as the ambulance drove away faster than cars racing in the Indie 500.

I even cried when I looked at Hayley.

Her entire arm was scraped, her nose bleeding. It looks like her arm was broken as they put her in the stretcher. Hayley begged that Annie goes with her to the hospital, so I stayed on the edge of the street as I called Ms. Katie and told her what happened.

She raced to where we were and took me to the hospital with her to see Caleb and Hayley.

Annie sobbed and ran to hug her mom as we came rushing into the ER.

"Where are they?" Ms. Katie asked immediately.

"Caleb had to go to surgery immediately while Hayley is being inspected and cleaned, because she scraped her arm pretty badly and she broke it." Annie said while choking back tears.

I hugged Annie before we all sat down and waited.

Waiting for results.

About a half hour later the doctor, Dr. Trace, came out and gave us updates.

It looks like Hayley does have a broken arm, and no gymnastics for a while. She was feeling a little better and now had a cast, but she was in a lot of pain so they gave her strong painkillers which made her sleepy, so now she's sleeping.

Caleb...Caleb wasn't good.

He had a concussion and had to get 16 stitches in his head. It looked like he had also broken his leg and hurt his back pretty badly where he had to get surgery, which was where he was right now. Dr. Trace said it would take him a long time to heal, but he would eventually.

I cried as they gave us the news. That seemed like all I could do today; cry.

A little while later we got to see Hayley when she woke up. She was in a lot of pain and wanted to go home, but the doctors wanted to keep her overnight to make sure she would be okay. I don't know why, though, since all she did was brake her arm.

"Where's Caleb?" Hayley asked.

Ms. Katie stroked her hair and kissed her forehead before saying, "He's in surgery."

Hayley gasped and began to cry. "It's all my fault!" She shouted. "If I had moved away Caleb wouldn't have gotten hurt!"

"You didn't know, Hayley, and you were in shock." Annie said.

While they were comforting Hayley my mom texted that she was on her way to come get me.

She picked me up and comforted me the whole ride home as I sobbed and told her the whole story.

That night I couldn't fall asleep. It was too hard.

All I did was pray. It was rare that I'd pray, but I did. I prayed for Caleb and Hayley, especially Caleb.

"God, please help Caleb. Please help him get better. I can't lose him because, because...I love him."
