Surprises and decisions
Alya ran to the bakery at the speed of light. She had arrived in a matter of seconds. The doorbell made a sound as it harshly swung open, and Alya came crashing in a panic. She looked around the bakery in search of her best friend. The noise of the door alerted the Dupain-Chengs. Jumping a little, and wasted no time running towards the sound of the slamming door. Noticing Alya, Sabine sighed. She already knew what her daughter's friend was here for, but she wasn't sure Marinette would be ready to see anyone.
"How's Marinette? Do you know what happened? I haven't been able to get ahold of her." Alya panted. Sabine shook her head, signaling a sad no. One that Alya understood clearly. "She is in her room. My baby fell asleep some time ago. Marinette had been crying nonstop. We know what happened. Adrien has been trying to get ahold of her, but-" Sabine was interrupted by an ear-popping scream. Marinette's painful scream.
"AHHHH" Marinette screams filled the entire apartment and bakery, alerting everyone there. Without hesitation, Alya ran upstairs and towards Marinette's room, worried about her friend. At the moment, she didn't care that she hadn't asked for permission. All Alya cared about was her friend. "Marinette!" she yelled, opening the trap door. She was about to run towards Marinette but froze upon the sight.
"AHHH" Marinette screamed in agonizing pain again. Her original clothing is still slowly being replaced with dark blue and purple clothing. Almost evil-looking. Alya was not sure what to do. Marinette was being akumatized, but she does not remember it even been this painful. Not worrying about the danger she could put herself in, she ran in and hugged Marinette. "Marinette girl, are you okay? Fight it, girl, you can do it. Marinette, you are stronger than us. Please, don't give in. I know you can hear me. Fight it, please."
With one last ear deafening scream, Marinette pushes through. Her body turning pale, her eyes bloodshot red, and the veins in her skin becoming more visible. Alya could have sworn the blue in her eyes was disappearing. The now purified butterfly flies out of the charm, and Marinette's clothing goes back to normal in a blink of an eye. It was as if the events had never occurred. Alya sighed in relief as she watched the white butterfly leave the room.
From her hiding spot, Tikki let out a breath she had been holding. Marinette had officially been the first person to deakumatize herself, but with it, there was a price to pay! Tikki and Alya watch as Marinette's body falls flat on the ground. All her energy Marinette once had depleted in an instant. Marinette silently sobbed as her body ached all over. She had no strength to move, and no strength to speak. All she wanted was to shut her eyes and sleep forever.
At the first sight of a distraction, Tikki flew over to her holder's side. She hoped her energy could transfer off to her holder as this was a delicate situation.
Alya fought back tears. She was so proud of her best friend for fighting the Akuma. Being the one behind the lady blog, she had seen many Akuma fights but never has she seen something like this happen before. Sabine, who was behind Alya, picked her daughter's weak body up from the floor and laid her on the bed. "Sweetheart, are you okay? You had us worried sick." "S-sorry," Marinette whispered before going unconscious.

Gabriel called off his transformation as soon as the Akuma flew out of the charm. He could not believe what had just happened. How was that even possible? "Nooroo, how is that possible?" Gabriel asked his kwami. Of course, Nooroo knew the truth. He was aware that this was only possible if the person was either the guardian or the most powerful holder in history, but he was sworn to secrecy. He had a Guardian to protect.
Nooroo was also surprised at this. He always knew the new Ladybug was a powerful holder, but this was simply unbelievable. No one had ever survived this before. "It is possible Master, but only by a person who is pure at heart." Technically, that was not a lie, but it wasn't the whole truth. Many factors added to this, but he would not betray his guardian.
"Ms. Dupain Cheng was heartbroken. All done by my son. But how, why? I have seen him. Adrien cares deeply for her. Am I missing something? Have I really missed so much from my son's life that I don't know who he is anymore? I have to stop this. I have to move on. I can't keep hurting people for my own selfish gain, but it's so hard. I need help, Nooroo." Gabriel spoke, feeling confident he can change. Change for himself and his son. "Master, I am here to help you along with Natalie and Duusuu" "Thank you, Nooroo."

Alya sat beside Marinette, worried to death about her health. It has been over 20 minutes, and Marinette was still unconscious. Luckily there was a doctor in the bakery. Sabine immediately called upon him, and he didn't hesitate to check on Marinette. Sabine and tom felt a wave of relief when he said it was only a reaction to being exhausted and weak but was sure she would wake up soon. Marinette just needed to eat good and rest for the next 24 hours. After about ten more minutes, Marinette finally stirred.
"Marinette," Alya called out to her making her friend's eyes open and look at her. "Oh my god, Marinette, you are okay. I was so worried. You were almost akumatized, but you fought it, girl. I am so proud of you. I knew you could do it. Marinette, I am so sorry this is all my fault. I really thought that-" Alya's rambling was interrupted but a hug.
Marinette used a small amount of strength to pull her bestie into a hug. "It's not your fault Alya. I had thought so too, but it turns out I am not good enough for Adrien. He had already chosen Kagami. Can you believe it? He had a girlfriend this entire time. I get it though, she is my friend, and she is perfect, so it doesn't surprise me that he chose perfection over clumsiness," Marinette stated weakly. Kagami? Alya's teeth gritted together as she felt anger run through her veins. Her? The cold and heartless fencer, is he serious?
"Listen to me, Marinette. You are more than good enough. Agreste is a dumb dense little boy who doesn't deserve you. He is not the one that is too good. Never say you are not good enough for him because you are. In fact, you are too good for him, and he is the one that doesn't deserve you." Alya still couldn't believe the audacity of that model. All this time, he had a girlfriend? How dare he play her friend, and no, she will not be okay with the whole friends are a new thing, and he didn't know how to act because it's been over two damn years of this. "Shh, girl, don't cry. Agreste is not worth crying over." Alya hugged her friend tighter.
"Alya, can't you see. I thought that maybe if I couldn't be first in his heart, I would at least be the second place, but it turns out I am not even that. I will always be last. It goes Ladybug, Kagami, Chloe, hell, maybe even Lila, and then maybe if I am lucky, I have a spot. I can't do this anymore," Marinette cried. It hurts too much, and he can't even see that.
Alya's heart broke even more. How could her friend think so low of herself? She always knew Marinette had low self-esteem, but never this low. Marinette was so amazing and unique. How can she think she is not good enough? Alya was sure when she got her hands on that blonde model, he would regret ever hurting her friend. She would pound him into another universe. Erase his entire existence for this planet.
Even though Marinette said it was not her fault, Alya felt guilty. It was her that made the bet, and it was her who force Marinette to confess her feelings, but she swore Adrien felt the same. The look on his eyes was so real, she was sure of it. How the hell did she get that wrong?
"Marinette, believe me, that is not true. You are amazing. You are unique, smart, talented, beautiful, and a hero without having to use a mask. You are so much better than you think. No one is better than you, and that includes Ladybug herself. You know, sometimes I wish I had the talent and strength you have. You are my hero. I love you, girl." They hugged again. Marinette was so grateful to have a friend like her. She always knew just what to say. Alya was like the sister she never had.
At that moment, the door opened, revealing Alya's boyfriend. "Umm, hey dudette, how are you?" Nino called out. Alya looked up at her boyfriend in anger. She was about to say something to him when he mouth a 'Later' to her. Alya rolled her eyes and let Marinette go. "Hey, Nino. What are you doing here?" Marinette responded, turning her back towards him and hiding her face. "I wanted to check up on you," he responded, hinting at worry. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, Nino, I am fine thanks for worrying about me. I feel better already," Marinette lied. She then turned to give her friends a weak smile trying hard to make it look believable, but a second later, her phone lighted up again. She picked it up to see who it was but immediately regretted it. As she looked at the name on the screen, her jaw snapped shut, and her fist clenched. "How dare he call me!" she growled. Alya immediately knew what she meant and looked towards her boyfriend with rage in her eyes.
Nino gulped as he saw the look in Alya's eyes. God, his girlfriend was terrifying when she wanted to be. Nino knew that his girlfriend would probably kill him for what he was about to do, but now that he knew the truth, he couldn't allow Marinette to hate Adrien like that. Everything had been a misunderstanding. If only Marinette had given him a chance to speak, she would realize Adrien loves her too. He wished he could explain it to her, but Adrien was clear when he said he wanted to do it himself. All he needed was a chance for her to listen.
Ignoring his girlfriend, Nino decided to speak on Adrien's behalf. "Marinette, listen. This all looks worse than it really is. I talked to him, and I promise you he never meant to hurt you. I know what it looks like, and I know what you girls are thinking. I mean, I am not going to lie, I even thought so myself at first, but I promise you it's not like that, dudette. He wanted to explain things to you, but you didn't give him the chance to speak. My bud is hurting too, he made a mistake, but I swear he never meant to hurt you. Adrien has been trying to reach you, even spoke to your parents. He is begging for another chance. He is begging for you." Nino threw in that hint hoping she would catch on.
Noticing the reaction in her face had not changed, Nino continued, "He really cares about you and is scared to lose you. He had many things he wished to say, many things he has hidden, but he hoped you would give him a chance to tell them to you. Please, give him the chance to explain. Adrien doesn't want to lose you."
"HE ALREADY DID!"
