My talking

I always correct myself

Like I love reading

To I used to love reading

Because my concentration

Is so shot, I can't read

I love to travel the world

To I used to love to travel the world

But now I can't go most days further

Then my bedroom

I love dancing

To I used to love dancing

Because I can barely walk without

Bumping into things

So many of these used to's and why?

I'm ill yes

But it doesn't define who I am

Does that mean that just because

Of this

I used to have a plan or a goal for a career

And to start my doctorate

And now I don't

No

That can't be right

I have to stick to my old way of speaking

I love to read

I love to dance

I love to travel the world

I will do my doctorate

I will become a college professor

Just because I can't do it

Right now

This moment

Doesn't mean

I won't in the future

Because if

Used to

Becomes

Used to

Then what's the point of hope?
