Intro to Calligraphy!

Hello there to you all! Just already going to say that I'm sorry that I haven't been as "active" as some of you here and I've been less active than I actually would like to be. But I've been busy at home because of reasons and there was some drama going on that I just needed to attend to....let's just say that this week was hard and it was a bit frustrating for me. But anyways, I'm feeling better and energic, so I am here and I will try my best to be active here!

Anyways, a few days ago was the first day of summer for the Northern Hemisphere! (Just fun fact) but that isn't the point. June 21st was also the first day that I had started writing calligraphy! (Hence the obvious title for this ramble)

       If you don't know what calligraphy is, let me give you a small lesson/brief history (that the booklet I have says and sorry if I bored you with this small lesson, you can skip this);
the word "calligraphy" translates to "beauty" and "writing"  from ancient Greek.
Calligraphy held within many forms of beautiful writing that was invented by myriad nations and cultures. The Western calligraphy was originated from ancient Rome (or Roma, which is the actual name), where the Latin alphabet first emerged.
Medieval monks had fined Latin lettering arts to splendor with illuminated manuscripts, such as the 'Book of Kells'.
Modern-day calligraphers continue the tradition of immortalizing important events, ideas, and words in elegant letters.

But that is what calligraphy is and that you also have a small history about it!

Though anyway, I had this set for a present last year and I decided on Wednesday that I actually try to write in calligraphy for fun and maybe try to adapt some of it for my own handwriting. (It's a possibility!)

This is how my calligraphy is so far (It's my first few attempts, there are bound to be some mistakes here and there):

***Note this: The top half of that piece of paper was with my full name and other private things that I choose not to share here.***
But yes, you can notice that I've made some mistakes there but no regrets!

Nothing particularly much has happened in this piece of paper, except that I probably didn't have enough space and that I probably have written it a little crooked.

Haha, I was apparently writing with my pen with the paper crooked. So that's why some words don't look right, that's because it's crooked.
But also, "This Game" and "Ignite" were two cover songs (sung by annapantsu) that I listened to while I was doing calligraphy.

But if I had to describe what the handwriting of calligraphy is, I would have to say that it's if cursive and printed handwriting were fused into one. (Which is like my handwriting, but smaller and a more rushed.)
Then again, I'm a beginner and I'm not an expert and my handwriting isn't exactly the best.

What my hand felt like while I was writing and afterwards...hmmm...remember when you first learned how to write cursive and that your hand gets cramped? (And that when you are left-handed, that you get lead/graphite rubbed off on your hand) The feeling is like that when writing calligraphy but more intense, since you have to press down a little bit to have the ink flow smoothly onto the paper.

Anyway, that was just something that I had fun to try out for this summer. If any of you actually want your username or any written in my calligraphy, then you can ask me either on PM or in the comments. (I swear that I'm not trying to advertise for anything, I just thought it would be fun to do, that's all.)

Question: how would you describe your handwriting? (neat, mesy, legiable, in print, or in cursive, etc.) This is out of my own curiosity!
Signing off, write for you soon, Crystal~Rose :)
