So, the first Tuesday of ever month is what we call 'Self Defense Night' at the Karate Studio I work at, and last night was certainly an interesting one. In the Child class, (8-13 years old) there are two First Degree Black Belts, a pair of sisters, one 10, the other 13, and they were practicing how to escape a headlock. The Head Instructor had me and a fellow male employee, assist them, and by 'assist' I mean she told us to grab them in head locks...as hard as we could, and then they had to escape. You know how awkward it is to be a 19 year old male, holding a girl who barely comes up to my chest, in a tight headlock as she struggles to free herself?
