(A/N: sorry if there are any spelling errors and so on, I was angry while typing this story)

Monica's POV

A few months had past, and it was finally time for the Vytal tournament. I was so excited, considering teams from around the world were gonna participate in the tournament as well.

I squealed. "I can't wait to see what opponents we will verse!"

Kurisutaru chuckled. "I agree, it is quite exciting.."

"So, what is the Vytal festival all about??" Hebi questioned, grumbling.

Kurisutaru cleared his threat before speaking. "The Vytal Festival is an international festival in Remnant held every two years, where the various cultures of the world are celebrated with dances, parades and a combat tournament. The host kingdom of the festival rotates every two years, and the host opens its borders to visitors from the other kingdoms."

"But this year, the Vytal festival will be held in vale!" I added, technically screaming in excitement.

Dusk giggled and nodded. "And, we are participating in the 40th year of the Vytal festival."

"Ugh, thanks.." Hebi looked away embarrassed at the fact that, he just got lectured by two girls and one boy.

Dusk and I giggled. "You're welcome!" We both said in unison, beginning to listen to what professor port and professor Oobleck explain how the tournament works.

After the two professors had explained a little bit about the tournament, it was now time to fight. We all had waited in the waiting area because that's where all the participants are supposed to wait, but it was team RWBY vs a team called ABRN.

I must say, it was a good fight but team RWBY won in the end, which was cool.

However, it was me and my team next and to be honest with you, I was feeling kind of nervous. We were going to verse a team called, 'team SYRA'. They looked kind, but you should never judge a book by its' cover.

About 6 minutes had past, and My team and I had won, it wasn't even that hard to beat them- they may have had the strength to over power us, but we had a very good strategy which quickly turned the tables.

I honestly don't even know why I was nervous in the first place, I feel more confident now.

As the day progressed, cumulative teams wins each battle, such as; team JNPR, team SSSN, team CFVY, team CRDL, team WHTE, team BLCK, team CRMN, penny's team, & another team called....team FNKI- and many more other teams....

During the doubles round, my team and I decided that dusk and I were going to take part in the doubles round.

We were now versing a team called, 'team MARZ' but only two of the members were taking part of course. The two members who were battling us were, Marco & Zahara.

The battle was okay- it wasn't fun, it was OKAY. The reason why I'd say this is because, Marco and Zahara kept fighting every time either one of them tried to land an attack on either me or dusk.

Dusk and I sighed and nodded towards each other, double teaming on the two opponents and winning the battle.

The tournament was not on until nighttime, so it gave everyone plenty of time to rest and eat and stuff.

Hebi, Kuri, dusk and I decided to stop by a café and chill out there, until it was time for the one on one match to start.

While we were at the café, Kurisutaru had started up a conversation. "So, which one of you two will move onto the singles round?"

Me and dusk exchanged glances and shrugged.

Hebi sighed. "Well you have a limited amount of time to decide, so make a decision now."

"Sorry but, I don't want to do it." I said.

"Yeah, me neither. I'm too tired." Dusk looked away.

"Monica, you didn't even give a reason! And dusk, that isn't a proper excuse!" Hebi hissed, slamming his fists onto the table.

Dusk and I flinched, then we hung our heads in shame. "Sorry.." we both mumbled at the same time.

When it came to night time, we had agreed that I was going to compete in the singles round. I wasn't even in the mood anymore because, I just wasn't feeling up to battling right now.

Anyway, yang was the first one out of the singles round- and she was versing Mercury. The match last about 4 minutes, and yang had won the battle which I was glad see.

However....Mercury was talking to yang until she randomly shot his leg which sounded like his leg had painfully broken. Atlas robots spur round yang as she began to scold Mercury. Everyone was in shock and confused at what yang had done, and team RWBY was disqualified due to misconduct.

Even though yang was disqualified, the tournament still continued and it was Pyrrha kilos versus penny polendina.

PvP!!!!

while the two young women were fighting, dusk who was sitting right next to me kept cheering for Pyrrha nikos. I only giggled in response to her encouragement, but I didn't mind who won out of then two.

After a minute or so, something terrible happened, and penny Polendina was broken into pieces somehow- and she was actually a military robot which lived amongst us all this time.

At this point, life was being ridiculously and everything started to fall apart. (Unintended pun- if you get what I mean *cough* penny Polendina *cough*)

Then, all of the electronic devices in the city turned to a red screen with a black chess piece, and a woman's voice started to explain eerie things to us.

When she had finished her little....speech, Grimm started to attack the city and destroy everything. I guess they were attacked to the city because it gave off a lot of negative energy.

"We all need to go, now!" Kurisutaru stated. Dusk, Hebi and I nodded while following Kurisutaru out of the stadium..

But as we ran, we saw a figure in the distance and dusk gasped in shock. She immediately stopped so me, Hebi and Kurisutaru also stopped.

"Adam...." she whispered in fright.
