Niki slammed the door to her bakery, storming upstairs to her apartment, tears streaming down her face.

" I HATE THIS!" she screamed into her pillow, tears dripping down her face. "I hate being a girl!" Her voice muffled in the pillow. Her shoulders shook as she sobbed.

She finally wiped the tears off her face and sat up, shuddering. Niki turned around and jumped.

"Tubbo?! Wh-what are you doing here..? How much of that did you hear..??"

"Niki... Are you okay..?" Tubbo asked, shifting on the chair he was sitting in, which made a creaking noise.

Niki paused, seemingly debating what to say, and then running over and collapsing into Tubbo 's arms.

"Tubbo... I just don't know what to do. I know I'm not a girl..? What am I supposed to do?!" Niki sobbed into Tubbo's overalls, snuggling into his yellow-and-black striped sweater. (Yes, his outfit is based off of that fanart-)

"Well.. are you a boy?" Tubbo whispered, hugging tightly to Niki, whose shoulders were shaking heavily.

"No! Yes! I don't know!" She wailed.

"Are you non-binary?" Tubbo asked, handing Niki a tissue and wiping her eyes.

"What's that?" Niki said, accepting the tissue and wiping her eyes, sitting up and walking over to her bed. Tubbo followed, sitting next to her.

"Not being a boy or a girl. Just being in-between. Do you feel like that?" Tubbo asked, taking Niki's hand (!!platonic!!((I hate how I have to specify this but whatever))) and squeezing tight.

"That's a thing..?" Niki mumbled.

"Yeah!"

"That.. seems like.. what I feel like.." Niki said, smiling a bit. "Not a boy or a girl.. just.. me."

"That's cool! What pronouns do you want me to use for you? And do you want to change your name?" Tubbo asked gently.

"I wanna use they and them! And.. can I change my name to Aspen? I really like that name!" Aspen said happily.

"Yes! Do you feel like coming out to everyone else, Aspen?" Tubbo asked. Aspen felt a happy little pang at their new name being used.

"Maybe.. I'm just a bit scared..?" Aspen said, getting up and looking at their wardrobe. They sighed.

"Don't be! Everyone here is so sweet! They'll totally accept you!" Tubbo said.

Aspen started grabbing clothes and tossing them on the ground. They shoved them all in a box then taped the box up, looking at their empty wardrobe with a smile.

"Let's go shopping!" Tubbo said, looking at Aspen. "We can get you new gender neutral clothes!"
