Info: This isn't really "olden" times, its more like now. So they have phones and hoodies and all that stuff, the only thing differnent is that they still have Kings, Queens, and royal people.

Mega is a prince, in a small little kingdom.
A "stupid mute", they would whisper when they thought he couldn't hear. But indeed, he did. He heard it all.
One day, no wait-- One night, Mega was tired of spending his whole life trapped in a castle. It felt like living in hell, for gods sake! So, he decided to sneak out...

'Do normal children sneak out?' Mega thought to himself, as he slipped on his dark blue hoodie.

He was wearing blue jeans that cuffed at the end, a white polo shirt which was covered by the dark blue hoodie, a green and gray scarf, and some new black converse.

'Ok, thats done,' Mega patted his hoodie down. 'Now all I have to do is make it out of this castle, without running into Dad.'

Mega's father was a nice man, but he never let Mega or his sister go out and do "normal" kid stuff.
Atleast--not since Mother died. Mega's mother was a kind, sweet hearted woman, one of the best people in the whole wide world! It was, such a shame she passed away, a very big tragedy...

Mega made his way down the grand staircase, speeding his way down the steps.

'All I need to do is get to the door!'

Mega was so exited! The last time he saw the outside was when he was 5 and his mother took him out to see the kingdom. While they were there, she was coughing violently and then collapsed onto the stone floor.
That was the day she died.

Mega was halfway to the door, a big smile appeared under his scarf, 'Im gonna make it!' He thought.

He was wrong.

A big hand gripped his right shoulder, "Ehem, where do you think your going?" A big gruff voice asked him.

Mega turned around and faced his father
"Im going out" Mega signed to him. "No your not, go back up to your room. It's past your bedtime."

Mega rolled his eyes, "No. Im not a child, im 16," Mega made sure that he put his hands infront of his fathers face at "16", to make sure his father understood.

"Young man, I do not care if your 27! Your not aloud outside this castle. Understood." His father's voice was firm and strict, horrifying to most people but not Mega.

Mega was going to do something he might regret.

His stomach rumbled and ached, his throat iched, it took all his energy not too throw up then and there. The world became dizzy as he struggled to let what he wanted to say out.

"F-father," Mega felt revolted by his own voice, the stutter, the croaking, the discusting taste of dryness.
'What did you expect, idiot. Not talking for about 11 years must have some kind of toll on your body.'
It made Mega ashamed, but atleast it got his fathers attention.

His father cleared his throat, "Y-yes, son." he stuttered, it was obvious he was baffled by this sudden act from his son, which just made Mega more embarrassed.

"I-i wa--A," Mega stopped, his throat was burning! Like acid making it's way up to his mouth. "w-aAnt-t t-O b-be n-nor--mAl!"

Pain.
Mega was in physical pain, he felt his stomach turn and twist all around, he felt his throat being burned, his chest clenched, but he stood up strait. He had to, he needed to, or else his father wouldn't listen.

"P-ple-ase..."

Mega's father stared at him.

Then he huffed, "Fine. But be back at 1:00 am or your grounded." His father turned his gaze away.

Mega took a few seconds to processes this 'It's 9:00 pm right now, so... 1,2,3,4-- FOUR FUCKING HOURS ON MY OWN!!!'

Mega's eyes practically turned to stars! He signed, "Thank you!" so many times, you can't even count.

His "happy parade" ended when he heard a *sniff*, he looked up and his eyes immediately softened.

His father had tears in his eyes and he wore a wonky smile. Anyone could tell he was trying not to burst out crying.

(Mega signs everything from now on)

"Are you ok?" Mega asked him. Mega's father raised his hand and rested his thumb on Mega's forehead, moving some hair out of the way.
A few stray tears fell down his face, this started worrying Mega.

'Did I do something wrong?' Mega asked himself.
"I'll take care of myself, if thats what your worried about..." Mega reassured his Dad.

Mega's father let out a shaky sigh and somewhat chuckle. With a soft smile he said, "you remind me of your mother..." the wonky smile still plastered onto his face.

Mega's eyes widened, 'Me? Remind him, of Mother?!' This was the best complement anyone could give him. His mother was wonderful, every week she would go down to the orphanage and give the children new toys, and the teens new clothes. She helped poor business owners get back on their feet, and worked to help replenish the main garden in the middle of town.

Tears pricked Mega's eyes. He lifted his hand and layed it gently onto his fathers. He ran small circles into his fathers knuckles.

All of a sudden Mega's father picked Mega up, bear hugged him, and swung him around in circles. Mega started giggling and his fathers loud chuckes filled the quiet dark room.

Once they calmed down, Mega's father placed Mega on the floor and wiped away his tears.

"You sure you don't want a knight or someone to come with you?" His father asked.
"Yes, im sure."
Mega had been waiting for this day for years, he wanted to experience this alone. He wanted the chance to make friends on his own.

"Bye, father!" Mega turned around and faced the door. "Bye son! Be safe!" He heard his father say as he reached the door knob.

Laying his hand on the knob he had one last thought.

'No turning back. Not now or ever.'

And with that, Mega opened the door, cool breeze hit his face as stared in "awe" at his surroundings.

He didnt turn back.
