X - Men

—Westchester—

For one second, they had children surrounding them. Charles Xavier was there, teaching them the science of how they were made. How they came to be. But that changed in a matter of a second.

The next thing that happened was that Charles fell to the floor. All the children had somehow disappeared and all the decor turned dusty and broken. His wheel chair had disappeared as well, making him fall. The back pain started to mount on him and he started to hear screams inside of his head.

"Hank!" He shouted in pain. There was no response, so instead he started crawling towards the worn out chair. "Goddamn it." He muttered.

He peeked towards the lobby of the school and it was totally abandoned. There were tables and chairs covered by blankets. The chandelier had fallen to the floor. It was complete mess by then.

"Jean! Jean! Is anyone there?!" He continued to call. By now, he had reached the chair and tried to climb it. He was too weak to try and sit so he fell back to the floor as the pain and screams continued to hurt them. "Scott!"

"Professor?!" Someone had answered back.

"I'm here!" He called once more. He was laying on the floor, trying to grab the chair leg, "in the office!"

"Are you okay?" Hank asked, running over to him. Hank grabbed his arms and helped him sit on the chair. Sitting on the chair still did not help Charles's mind. "What's happening?"

"Th-the children, Hank! Their in my-" Charles shouted in pain as he placed both of his hands on his ears, "I can hear them. They're back." He muttered, trying to bear the pain.

"Just hold on, Charles." Hank stood up and tried to find his medications, "Is anybody there?!"

"Hank?" Storm asked, entering the classroom.

"Get the professor's wheel chair." Hank ordered, scrambling through the boxes for Charles's medications.

"I'm on it." Storm rushed outside.

"What happened?" Charles softly said, grunting as he fixed his posture, "where are the children, Hank?"

"I don't..." Hank frowned, "know. They were there a second ago."

"They were." Charles started breathing heavily, trying to drown out the noise, "I still hear them, Hank."

"I can't find-" Hank three a box in the corner to make way for the other containers, "where are the medications!"

"Easy, Hank." Charles placed his hands on his lap and started to calm down, "search the area. I won't... I wont need the medications."

"Are you sure?" Hank looked at Charles.

"Please. Find the others." Charles sighed and placed his hand on the chair, "Is there anyone here?"

"Professor? What happened?" Scott asked, entering the classroom as well.

"We're all dying to know that too, Scott." Hank answered.

"I found it!" Storm entered the room with a wheelchair. Scott rushed towards Charles and helped him sit down.

"Thank you, Storm. You too, Scott." Charles said, groaning as he sat down, "We need to find out what happened."

Hank exited the school and started walking around the grounds. Storm and Hank checked out each room to search for a radio or TV. Charles rolled outside and looked at the exit.

After a little waiting, Charles greeted Hank as he returned to the entrance of the house. Hank frowned as he made contact with Charles.

"I couldn't find anyone, Charles. The whole school grounds are empty." Hank muttered.

"It's alright. We just need to find out what happened." Charles said.

Charles and Hank entered the abandoned house and walked upstairs. Hank helped Charles by carrying him and the wheelchair to the second floor. There were flashes of light and shadows down the right hallway. They slowly walked to them.

"What have you found?" Charles asked, entering the room.

It was a TV that was barely functioning. It wasn't like any normal TV they came across. There weren't any features that were similar to theirs.

"Who the hell has enough money to buy a TV like that at a time like this?" Scott chimed.

"Uh, possibly the richest man in 1985?" Hank responded. Storm was trying to check the buttons on the back so he decided to help, "Let me see what I can do."

"Sure." Storm agreed. There was a remote on the floor so she grabbed it. "Power button means start."

"Mhm." Charles nodded. Storm turned it on and the TV opened in cartoons, "switch it to news."

"Alright, then." Storm said, as she continued to scroll through the channels.

"There." Charles said, and Storm paused. CNN was on a break so they waited.

There was a knock on the door which frightened everyone. Charles tried to see who it was but he couldn't.

"Charles, who is it?" Hank asked.

"I..." Charles stuttered, "the children. They're blocking me."

"I'll handle it." Scott said, "Storm come with me."

"Let's go."

Scott and Storm walked down the stairs quickly, trying to get to the entrance. Once they reached it, they heard someone walking around in circles waiting for the door to be opened. Storm held the doorknob, and charged it with thunder.

He nodded towards Storm, "Who is it?"

"Peter!" The person responded.

"You have to be more specific than that."

"Peter Maximoff!"

They both sighed in relief. Storm opened the door and Peter walked into the mansion. He looked around the lobby and it was very abandoned.

"What the hell happened?" Peter asked.

"I don't know. How's the world outside?" Scott asked.

"Different." Peter looked at the both of them, "Everything is different. My mom and my sister aren't at home. But everyone seems busy catching up with everyone else."

"Have you seen Jean by any chance?"

"I tried to find everyone, man. I couldn't."

"Anything else that's different?" Storm chimed in.

"Futuristic. Do you think we traveled to the future?"

"That's very possible, actually." Scott agreed.

"Scott! Storm!" Hank called from upstairs.

Peter placed his hands on both of their necks and brought them upstairs. Hank and Charles seemed frightened when the three arrived quickly.

"Hey Peter, how you doing?" Hank said.

"Confused and scared. That's about it." Peter smiled anxiously and watched the news.

"Glad you could be here." Charles said. The news went on and everyone listened carefully.

"Major news have come in that famous billionaire and hero, Tony Stark, has passed away hours ago. It was reported by the president about a few moments ago. With Tony Stark's birthday coming within two days, a memorial will be held in his honour in Central Park. Pepper Potts, Steve Rogers, Dr. Bruce Banner, are among others who will speak on said event..." The reported continued talking.

"Maybe we can find our answers there, don't you think?" Charles suggested.

"I'm pretty sure we can scout it out." Hank said.

"Good. We have a plan." Charles turned his wheelchair towards them, "We have a schedule. We need to clean the mansion up. I hope that Peter can help us."

"I sure can, Professor." Peter smiled.

"Very well." Charles nodded, "and on the memorial, Scott, Storm, and I will be attending it. Peter and Hank will take care of the mansion."

"We all agree?" Hank asked.

They all nodded and Charles smiled.

"Then we found out what's happening. Let's start cleaning up, shall we?"
