Reed Richards and Sue Storm
—New York—
Reed Richards fell onto the floor of what he once knew was Baxter Building. When he looked around, there were blankets covering all of the equipment. It was a very dusty place and it was empty. He walked to the lounge and looked around the place.
"Sue?! Ben?! Anyone?" Reed called. No one answered so he continued walking around.
Reed continued walking around the lounge. There was a small bar that was in the living room. He checked it, but there was no one there. He decided to go to the balcony, which had a great view of New York.
He went outside, and it was dark outside. It was about to rain, but he still wanted to look around. There were barely any people outside. He grabbed his phone out of his pockets and scrolled through his contacts. He saw Johnny's number and called it.
"C'mon, Johnny. Answer the phone." He muttered, hoping Johnny would check it. After a few more ringing, it turned into voicemail. "Damn it."
He went back inside out of the tower and continued searching through it. He went inside of the lab and there was still nobody there.
"Sue?! Are you invisible?!" Reed shouted.
There was equipment on the table and he grabbed the blanket off it. It was a radiation tracker so he turned on the device. The device started detecting large amounts of radiation from where Reed had landed. This sparked an idea for him.
He walked over to a large screen on the wall and opened it. He opened the map of the entire world and connected the radiation tracker to it. After some few adjustments to the range of the radiation levels, he opened it and different dots on the map appeared. Places like Westchester, Hell's Kitchen, San Francisco, Atlantis, Canada, and others were reporting some heavy radiation outbursts.
"Reed?" A voice called behind him.
Reed grabbed a wrench in the corner of the room using his powers and aimed it at the voice. It was just Sue who was as confused as him.
"Sue." Reed ran over to her and hugged her.
"Wha-what's wrong?" Sue asked, looking at the screen.
"This isn't our place."
"I noticed." Sue walked over to the computer and started checking some settings, "We are in a other dimension, aren't we."
"How did you know?" Reed asked, looking for other devices in the back to support their claim.
"Remember when Victor created a portal to another dimension? The one that almost created a war between two dimensions?"
"Yeah, why?"
"We had to evacuate the whole of New York just because of that. Radiation."
"Well, we need to find a way back."
"Where are Johnny and Ben?"
"I don't know." Reed looked at her, "Weren't they with you?"
"No. They went outside."
"Central Park? Maybe? They were talking about trees." Reed thought for a moment, "Check radiation signals in Central Park."
Sue scanned the entire New York but Hell's Kitchen And the tower they were in were still the portals that opened.
"No sign."
Suddenly the elevator door opened which alerted the both of them. Reed reached out to the light and closed it. Sue turned invisible and hid behind a table along with Reed.
"Well," The agent chuckled, "this is the building we've been talking about, Mr. Osborne. Best view of New York and has one of the most comfortable condos you'll ever get."
"I will agree with you on that." Norman quietly said, looking around the living room.
"It also has a bar for partying. There is also a lab for you to work in."
"This is the place that Stark lived in, correct?" Norman asked, looking out of the window.
"That is correct, Mr. Osborne."
"So it must be quite rude of me to buy this tower on such an occasion."
"I mean, he used to own it. Our latest owner sold it due to too much chemicals being stored around the place. It's been four years since this building has been used." The agent chuckled, "It won't hurt to buy it."
"How about Queens?" Norman asked, looking at the agent.
"Excuse me?"
"How about the traffic to Queens. Is it fast or slow?"
"Slow on the weekends, Mr. Osborne."
"Very well." Norman nodded, "I asked that because my son studies there and I don't want to transfer him. But I think he wouldn't mind studying there and still living in a place like this."
"I'm sure of that." The agent chuckled.
"I'll think about it." Norman smiled.
"Alright. May I take you out, sir?"
"Thank you." Norman said and they were both on the way out.
Suddenly the screen started beeping on Central Park and Ryker's Island. It produced a very loud noise which alerted Norman and the agent.
"It's them." Sue whispered to Reed.
"Then let's go."
They both exited through the fire exit and went downstairs to the ground floor. The lobby was empty as well as it was night, so they passed on through easily. When they went outside, there were not a lot of people who could notice them get out of the building.
"So, what now?" Sue asked Reed.
"Let's go get Johnny and Ben." Reed suggested, as they both started walking towards Central Park. It started raining so it made it harder for them to spot. Now it was just a race to whoever could get to Johnny and Ben. The cops or them.
