It is the 1950's and a young Reed Richards is speaking to his best friend Ben Grim about how one day he will be the greatest scientist in the world. He will invent something that would be Decades away from what technology is today. How even Howard Stark would be impressed. Years later it's the 1960's and after being top in his class and one of the brightest minds in America he is invited to Victor Dooms office. Reed has always been a fan of Victor for a while ever since Victor has been working on a Teleportation device for astronauts to travel to outer space quicker. Reed brings Ben just to in case because Victor has been claimed doing sketchy things. Reed arrives to the office and him and Victor bond over science. But then Victor tells Reed why he's really here. And that's because Victor has discovered a way to use the teleportation device to travel to places out of the solar system. He needs Reed to help perfect it. At first Reed was been sketchy but Victor convinced him he says that he wants him to like he said earlier perfect it. The next day Reed and Ben are invited to see the teleportation device. Victor and Reed discuss more science and the flaws of the device. Ben just feels left out he's still there to support his best friend. Reed has fallen in love with this girl Sue Storm. She's one of the scientists at the lab working on the teleportation. A few weeks pass and Ben doesn't come one day. After Reed asks Ben where he was and he was out drinking with some old buddies Reed doesn't really worry but he tellsBen to show up the next day because he has a surprise. It turns out that they worked out the teleportation but still not the out of the world part. And Reed and Sue are a couple now. Ben try's to fake surprised but It's very obvious he doesn't care. Later that night Ben gets drunk and breaks into the lab where the teleportation device is he destroyed the device and a bunch of computers. An alarm goes off and Ben escapes. Later that day Reed and Victor find out and look at the security cameras and see that it was Ben. Victor is furious. Reed goes to Bens house to go talk to him. Ben and Reed get in an argument and Ben breaks down into tears. Saying that Reed has a beautiful girl in his life and has his hole life ahead of him and he has nothing. Reed says you have me but Ben says that Reed replaced him with a better and smarter person. Reef apologizes and they make up. Reed tells Ben that he didn't destroy everything and Reed realized the flaw of the teleportation.
After a month Reed, Victor and Ben finish it. But because of Victors track record he's not allowed to try it out with any astronauts or anyone in general. This makes Victor mad because he devoted so much of his life to this machine and he can't even use it. But that's when Reed has the idea that they try it out for themselves. Everybody's nervous about this but Sue agrees it's the only way they can actually see what's out there. So Sue invites her brother Johnny Storm to do it because it pays well. So now Reed Richards, Ben Grim, Victor Von Doom, Sue and Johnny Storm are gonna got to outer space.
