When the eternals met up to re-recruit Druig at his commune he was more than hesitant to join them.

It took hours to convince him. And thankfully, Sersi knew exactly how to get him to go along with their plan.

Druig was sitting at his desk when Sersi entered his home.

"Druig?" Sersi called out, causing Druig to quickly turn around. "If you're here to convince me to-"

"We're going to recruit Y/n next," Sersi quickly cut him off. As soon as her name left Sersi's mouth, Druig's eyes lit up.

"Why didn't you say that first?" Druig asked, quickly standing up before he went to pack a bag of clothes.

The small group of Eternals approached Y/n's quaint cottage in Ireland. Druig had changed into a leather jacket and sunglasses. After thousands of years he's gone without seeing Y/n, he wanted to make a good impression.

Ikaris knocked on the door and a few seconds later, Y/n opened it. A wide grin on her face as she was met with her friends faces.

"H-Hi! What're you guys doing here?!" Y/n exclaimed, widening the door more so the group could enter.

"Look, Y/n, we're gonna make this quick. Ajak is dead, Arishem was lying to us and we're all just a bunch of fancy robots," Kingo explained quickly.

Y/n's eyes traveled around the group, trying to make sure that this wasn't some sort of joke.

The group sat in Y/n's living room as she paced back in forth in front of her fire place. "You're meaning to tell me that... that we've been lied to our entire lives?" Y/n croaked, tears brimming her eyes.

She followed Arishem so blindly. She followed him to the end of the world, multiple times apparently.

"Yes, which is why we need your help. The emergence is coming and we need you to join us so we can stop it," Sersi explained.

"I- I need a minute to think about this. This is... it's a lot," Y/n choked out, rushing off to her bedroom upstairs.

For a moment, the group sat in silence as they listened to Y/n's faint sobs from upstairs. After that silence, though, they all turned to Druig.

"Aw, what now?" He groaned. Everyone sent him a knowing look. He was the only person that could get her to change her mind. "Fine," he huffed before walking up the stairs to her room.

"Y/n, you've gotta join us. We're stronger together, c'mon you know this," Druig called out, hugging her from behind. Y/n leaned into the embrace, shutting her eyes and pretending she was back in the past. Back when everything was good.

"I guess ignorance really is bliss," Y/n spoke up, a sad smile creeping onto her face. Druig rested his chin on her head.

"I've missed you so much, my love. So much, you have no idea," he sighed. "Why did you leave me, Dru? Why?" Y/n sniffled, tears falling from her eyes.

"I had to, Y/n. What we were doing was wrong! We all know that now. I begged you to come with me, I was on my knees begging you," Druig corrected, spinning Y/n around so they faced one another.

"I'm sorry. If I could take it all back, I would," Y/n whispered. "It's okay, it's okay," Druig reassured, wiping the tears from off her face.

"I'll go. I'll go with you if you promise to never leave me again. I can't lose you... please," you croaked.

"I wouldn't even think about leaving you again," Druig smiled, kissing the top of her head.

"Thank you," Y/n nodded, letting out a relieved sigh. "Sorry, I was just... emotional," Y/n chuckled dryly.

"You have every right to be. I haven't seen you in thousands of years and I want to make it all up to you. I've been starved of you for all this time," Druig mumbled.

"Let's save the world first, big guy," Y/n laughed. A real laugh. The first one she's had in years.
