YouTubers of the West Indies (Part 2)
Note: this part will have about two different types of dialogue to see with one you (or myself) like better. And I might make this into it's own personal book but I'm not sure.
Lizzy's Uncle had a huge plantation on the upper west side of the island. Now as you probably know Lizzy grew up rich and mostly her whole family is rich. Stacy on the other hand didn't grow up rich so she wasn't surprised when she saw a bunch of men a women working. Stacy never lived in the southern colonies but she knew there were plenty of plantations but none has big as this one.
The two women were guilded to the mansion at the back of the property by two British troops. Although Lizzy didn't seem to mind something bugged Stacy a little bit. She noticed that a lot of people were working and that was normal, but then she saw children and it frightened her. Not only that but they were all black, and she then realized these people were probably working for minimum pay or no pay at all. Slaves she thought, why do people use slaves?
The soldiers opened the front gate to the mansion and to Stacy it looked huge! But to Lizzy it was a rather normal sized home, to her at least. Walking into the building Stacy was once again stunned, never in her live has she been inside a mansion; nor seen a bunch of artwork in one hallway. A little african boy came up to Stacy to take the suitcase but Lizzy noticed and dismissed the little boy. Only a few seconds after did an old man with a big grey beard walk down the hallway and said with a raspy voice, "Hello Elizabeth..."
Lizzy knew this man was most definitely her uncle, he was the best dressed out of this whole plantation. Instantly running over to give the man a hug, "Hello to you as well Uncle Laurens". Lizzy let go of the man and he made the 'follow me' gesture. The two ladies followed him all the way to the top floor of the four level building; to a room with furniture covered with white sheets, boxes piled up against each other. But a wonderful view of the backyard garden. Mr Laurens removed some of the sheets reveling a small sofa and a chair. Laurens sat on the chair while the two friends sat on the sofa.
Laurens: It's nice to finally see you in person Elizabeth
Lizzy: You can just call me Lizzy
Laurens: Well then Lizzy if you don't mind me asking who's your friend? I thought it was going to be just you.
Stacy: Oh I'm Stacy Mr. Prins.
Laurens: Laurens is fine Stacy. I take it you're not from England? You have sort of a colonial accent.
Stacy: I was born in the colonies sir.
Laurens: And how did you meet Lizzy?
Stacy: Well the ship I was on was supposed to make a direct stop to Jamaica from what I was told. But plans changed and we stopped at Liverpool. Over the winter months we became close friends.
Lizzy: That's how fate is...
Laurens: Interesting. Like I said, I was only expecting Elizabeth. I take it you have nowhere else to stay Stacy?
Stacy: No sir
Laurens: I'll be generous this once, you can stay here for a night or two. But only because you're friends with Elizabeth. Now Lizzy I have been invited to a ball on the east side and I promised that you would be there. And I guess you can bring your friend too. But you both will need proper attire. There is a closet full of dresses in the corner, I'll send a maid up later to see how you both are doing. I'll see you both later tonight.
Stacy: Aww nuts
Lizzy: What's wrong?
Stacy: I hate fancy parties...
With Dan and Stampy
Only a few hours later around 5pm both young men were at a tavern near the docks. Dan doing his job and playing the fiddle and singing while Stampy was waiting for Dan to finish up this last song so they can discuss their plan. The only thing keeping Stampy from dragging Dan out was the fact that this was Dans job. But sometimes the songs are interesting. There was one song that everyone really liked called 'William Taylor' and it was about a man named... well William Taylor. He was going to get married but then he was sent away, his would be wife dressed up as a sailor and boarded a ship that William use to work on to see if anyone knew where he went. And she got her information and found out that he married someone else so she killed both William and his wife. Stampy never knew why he liked it so much maybe it was the rhythm or the words used. But eventually Dan finished up and Stampy dragged him out of the tavern and into the abandoned warehouse to talk about their plan.
"Okay okay Jesus Stampy, I barley got the chance to put my violin away. Be more patient next time!" Dan complained.
"Well it's not my fault that you took so long to finish one song!" Stampy shot back.
"What's the rush? The party doesn't start until eight. It's only five Stamps, we got time."
"Yes but I run on British time you run on Spanish time."
Dan shouted, "Hey!"
"Shhhh! Quiet! You'll get us in trouble! Let's just talk about our plan, I'm getting nervous."
Dan sighed at Stampys... Stampyness, "Fine. What have you thought of?"
"Well we already have the outfits now all we need is a way in, and something to do to crash the party. There's a wall around the perimeter so we could probably just put down a box and climb over. As for the crashing part, I have two options. One option is we free the slaves. The second one is release the chickens or horses. Option three is we release the chickens and horses so while everyone is distracted we free the slaves." Explained Stampy.
All Dan could do was clap, "I'm impressed... I vote on option three!"
Stamp smiled, "It's settled. Tonight we crash that fancy party!... For good intentions!"
"Yeah!" Dan agreed. The two friends went off to their homes and prepared themselves for the night no one will forget. And these actions will help bring more people together than they thought.
