Everything happened so fast. Lukas could feel the winds push him up against the mountains as he fell like the wind was punishing him for his crime. The poor dragon couldn't open up his wings to catch himself, it wasn't like any free fall he ever did. Then the world went dark

Lukas awoke to the hooting of owls and with a gentle breeze on his face. Everything was so big, was he in the forest? He must've been because the trees seemed to never stop going up. The poor dragons vision was blurred and he was hit with a massive headache. As he sat up he tried to touch his face with his claw, but what he found in instead was something different.

"What on earth..." Was all he could mumble before he felt a sharp pain in his back and was knocked out once more.

This time Lukas woke up in a strange place. It was made out of wood and had little balls of fire hanging from the ceiling. "What is this place?" He asked aloud, unaware of the person sitting next to him.

"You're in the medical bay. Your lucky Petra found you before you got eaten by dragons." The person said.

"But I am a dragon," Lukas said. He looked over to the person next to him and gave them a strange look. "you're a monkey?"

"A monkey? No, I'm a person. You're one too! Why were you out in the woods in the middle of the night?" The person asked.

"I am a dragon! And you are a monkey! At least I think you are. From what the scrolls say monkies don't talk and wear clothes." Lukas pointed out.

The person gave Lukas a dumbfounded look. "And I would assume dragons don't wear clothes either?"

"We do, only on special occasions. We don't wear them all the time because it would limit our flight and some dragons might end up burning their clothes." Lukas explained.

"Well you certainly have a strange opinion on dragons, I'll give you that. I think you hit your head a little too hard. If you need me just call." The person got up and started to leave the room before Lukas stopped them.

"Wait," he called out, "what's your name?"

The person stopped. They didn't turn around and all they said was, "I'm Jesse." And continued to walk away leaving Lukas alone once more.

After Jesse left the room everything was quiet. It was almost pitch dark if not for the little balls of fire on the ceiling. Lukas didn't understand why it was there. Fire kept in a glass case that hung from the roof? How is it still lit?

Lukas looked down at his claws and the rest of his body. He was wearing clothes for some strange reason, and his 'claws' didn't look like claws anymore. Were are my scales? Why do my claws look like a cat without fur? Why do my claws look like worms? Why am I wearing clothing? he thought.

But then someone else came into the room. It wasn't Jesse because this person had red hair and brown eyes. She had a little tray and walked next to the bed Lukas was on placing the tray down on a little table next to the bed. She sat down on the bed next to him and stared at him.

The two looked at each other for a few minutes before Lukas asked, "Maya? Is that you? Why are you a monkey?"

"He speaks." The woman said. "sorry but I'm not this Maya chick. I'm Petra, the one who saved your butt last night. Sorry about the sleep dart, I didn't want you to panic."

"That was you? How could a monkey put a dragon to sleep?" Lukas asked, crossing his arms.

"Jesse was right, you really are delusional. Maybe some apples or some cooked chicken will help." Petra said.

Lukas looked over at the tray next to him in disgust. He hissed like a cat then ordered, "Get that away from me! Chickens are a dragons cousin! Have you no shame?"

"What? Dragons are cousins to lizards or something. I'm starting to think you're just dumb." Petra said, joking on that last sentence.

Lukas growled, "Hey! I'm not dumb! If I was dumb I would be just like every other dragon. I know much more than you do. If it wasn't for Isa's necklace I wouldn't-"

"Did you just say Isa's necklace?" Petra cut in.

"Yes! I'm wearing it right now see? The dragon caused me nothing but trouble!" Lukas complained.

Petra thought for a moment, her eyes shifting around the room before going back to Lukas. "Do you even know what you are?" She asked concerned.

Lukas rolled his eyes. "A dragon. What else would I be?"

"No I mean, what you are now. You think we're monkies, you think you're a monkey. Lukas was it? We're human." Petra explained. "see for yourself."

There was a little bowl of water on the tray which Petra carefully handed to Lukas. He was skeptical at first, he had no idea what a human was. But then looked down at his reflection and gasped. He didn't have any scales (as if that was a shocker by now). His blue eyes still remained and he had a bunch of fluff on his head which was blond. His reptilian ears were now curved. And as for his snout... it wasn't even a snout!

He handed the bowl back to Petra in terror. "What am I?"

"I already told you. But I think it would be better if I took you to Isa. She'll know what's going on." Petra said putting the bowl back on the tray.

The scared Luas shook his head. "That can't be possible. She vanished a long time ago!"

Petra got up and forcefully dragged Lukas to his feet. "I don't know which Isa you're talking about but our Isa is alive. She's been around for as long as I've been alive, she's our towns leader. If anyone knows what you're talking about, it's going to be her."
