Romeo X Human!Reader. Technically Romeo is from the game and the reader is from the real world. Inspired by GhostNeon's oneshot. Also I love the Pode Game, It's so cute. I wanted to put it here because Why not.

It was a casual Friday. You were just minding your own business. Living on your own was nicer than you thought, though more dangerous. You didn't have to deal with living hell in your old life anymore, your old boss and all. You didn't care if you had to take risks. You needed to feel at home somewhere, so you left. When you had your license and a job, you left, only leaving a forwarding address to people who you trust most, despite it being far away from where they live, you made a good amount of money and learned some self defense. You left everything behind just to start your new life.

You had already finished your supper and just came out of the bath tub, wrapped in a fluffy (F/C) towel. You washed in bubble bath, trimmed your nails, you basically had a whole spa day for yourself. There was not much to do now that you had hardly any access to your social media sites. You plan to get a tablet soon. It's been a while since you've been on the internet, but now you did your best to enjoy your fresh start. There were at least three things that you had that kept you happy and they were far more than enough. No. 1 was your new job as a(n) (Career choice). Everyone was nice and the boss, although slightly strict, was a kind and sweet woman, she was like family to you. No. 2 was your new house that you have all to yourself. The place was spacious, you were free to do whatever your heart desired. No one to disturb you, judge you and no family to awaken. But above all, the best of all, was no. 3, your new best friend...which we will come to later.

After you were finished pampering yourself, you only put on the one essential under garment for below to wear under your PJs because who the heck sleeps in a bra? Anyway after that, you put on a special pair of pajamas, the top had said the word "Personality" on the chest. As you like to say, you have a great personality (Aphmau reference). After you were dressed, you heard something, a crash. Immediately you ran down to the garage, hoping to not find a man dressed in black with a mask. You didn't thankfully, instead you found a red portal on your roof that was there for a brief moment before it disappeared. On the floor you spotted a familiar figure dressed in black and glowing crimson, unlike the average human being, his body structure was square-ish. His head was a cube like shape, his fingers, feet, literally, he wasn't even human, he looked like a character from a blocky game. Oddly enough, that's exactly what he was. The character was none other than Romeo, the Admin from Minecraft Story Mode, powers and all. "Heh, hey (Y/N), sorry about the mess." he greeted. Indeed he had fallen on a table that due to his impact, split in half, a lot of things on the table were broken as well. "No problem pal, come on in." you motioned inside. Before he came inside the house he gave a single clap, returning your broken table and items to normal state. He picked up a box wrapped in Red wrapping and tied with a black glittery ribbon. He floated inside and landed calmly on the floor, the present behind his back.

It was a surprise when Romeo first showed up in your life, literally, the first time you saw him you had no idea what was going on so you started throwing things at him, screaming in terror. It took a while for him to just straight up fly towards you and keep your mouth shut. Luckily your neighbors didn't call the cops that night. You were afraid of whatever the heck you saw, the last thing you expected was for it to be a certain character from a Minecraft game. You literally fainted when you looked him dead in the eyes and realized who he was. Second encounter was stressful too because now that you recognized him you were confused on how he logically made it there, but he managed to calm you down and explain, it took a couple of days for you to get use to him. How he kept leaving the game, tired of playing his role over and over again, changing with each reset, like a living Sans. Eventually he escaped the game and explored the real world, you honestly didn't expect him to have hands and feet. He didn't either, when he came to the real world the first time his form adapted, his clothes and hair became realistic, his face maintained a cubical state but at the same time more real. He couldn't even believe it when he saw is reflection through the mirror in your room. He wasn't easily use to walking with feet yet so he would just float around the house those times. You helped him get use to his form while he took refuge in your house. It eventually made you grow close to him every time he came and went. You shared a lot of things, you baked and he summoned things. You never told another human being about Romeo, even if you did they wouldn't believe you.

Anyway tonight as he seemed to notice not many people were playing the game and everyone was just wandering around the fandom online and watching pre-recorded gameplay so he decided to come over seeing as he had nothing to do. It was normal that he'd come over at night, but when you were getting ready for bed? That was a surprise, now that you noticed. Normally it's moment after or before supper that he shows up, you didn't want to say he was late. You don't normally expect him to pop over, you just take note of when he normally shows up. "You really ought to be careful when you come crashing at my place." you reminded him. "You never know if I have someone else over". "Yeah I know...but how would I know if it's just you here not?" Romeo asked. "Touche" you told him as you walked upstairs. He walked to the living room while he waited for you to put on a night gown, he would normally float but he didn't feel the need to since he was literally a head taller than you. Funny, you always thought he would be a bit shorter than an average human, considering the whole 2 block height thing. But no, you were the short one. You came back downstairs in a light (F/C) night gown."So uh, how have you been?" you asked him. "Eh, I've been alright. You?" he responded, hands still behind his back. "Pretty good." you told him. "You showed up a little later than normal." well damn you said it anyway, might as well ask "Any reason why?". "Oh no reason...I just..." he then sighed. "Here..." he said, revealing the wrapped red present he was holding behind his back. As he held out the box he said "I didn't steal it, I manipulated it to create another one for you." You took the box as he handed it to you, curious of the contents of the rectangular shaped box. You undid the ribbon and opened the box, to find a Nintendo switch? Indeed, in the box was both the Nintendo switch console and the dock. (if you already have one, pretend you didn't before hand) "I know it's not Christmas or your birthday but, you said you wanted to play that Pode game, so I figured you'd need the right...uh console, for it." He said, just remembering the word he was suppose to use. Then it hit you.

You always loved looking at everyone play the puzzle game with the little star and rock, you wanted to play it too. A couple encounters ago you told Romeo about it and he said he might play it with you to find out what it was about, you never expected him to go out and get you the console. You couldn't be even more surprised. Usually when you got something like this from your uncle or somebody, you'd scream or fangirl in excitement. But Romeo was the last person you'd expect to get you this game. You couldn't even imagine him doing that, your confused how he managed to get his hands on it. You just had a smile on your face and set the box on the side. Then you latched forward and pulled him into a massive hug. This was the nicest thing he's done for you that you never expected him to do. "Thanks." you whispered. It took a moment for him but eventually he placed his hands on your back, returning the hug. "No problem." he said.

With Romeo's help you set up the switch console with the dock and hooked it up to your big screen. You got two controllers that you ordered online a couple days ago. The room was darkened so you could see the screen and you got yourself some snacks. Soon enough the whole set was ready. All that was needed was the players. You taught Romeo how to play a couple of times. It was strange for him to be able to control the main character while watching the other NPCs played THEIR roles. When you started up the game, you looked at the introductions first, then you two started playing.

A while later..."You missed a crystal" You said to Romeo. "Dangit." He responded moving his character over to a small blue rock turning it into a pattern of beautiful crystals. You two were having fun with this. You played as the little round star and he played as the little blocky cube. It was very satisfying, the way the characters' individual abilities created such beautiful patterns of foliage and crystals. You two literally would make sure you grew every crystal and plant you could find you loved it so much. The puzzles were fun too. But sometimes you two ended up yelling at each other how the puzzle was meant to be solved, they sure do get tricky. You ended up being the one that was normally right. "You know (Y/N), this game reminds of you and me." Romeo said as you two led the star and rock to the level hub. "Why?" You asked. "Well, they're from different places yet they end up working well together sharing their different wonders and growing to like each other despite their differences..." he began but then said some thing that took you a while to get. "..., like your curves and my edges." "My what?" you asked. Romeo blushed as he realized what he just said. "Uh...nothing....I phrased that wrong, forget about it." he explained and moved his focus back to the game. After a moment you gave a giggle "No, I get what you're trying to say." You told him, "You're right, it's a strange match but, we still get along well."

It was a while into the game before you came to a cute cutscene where the rock got the star the heart bud before dropping it in the lava, only to reveal that it was suppose to be there. The cute scene distracted you both, you hadn't taken note that Romeo put his hand on yours when it played, you both only realized that when you looked at each other after the scene ended, it caused you both to look down at your hands and blush like the two characters in the other scene. Now they really did remind you of you two. Moments later you started to yawn. Next to you, Romeo glanced at the digital clock on the table. "Huh, 12:30?" Your eyes widened when you heard him read the time. "Dangit, were we really up this late?" You groaned in frustration. "Man, I should really head to bed." "Well in that case I guess we should....turn this off?" He asked. "Yeah." After turning it off you put the nintendo switch and the dock somewhere safe, you didn't want any questions yet where you got it. No one would believe you if you said your favorite video game character got it for you. "Well, I ought to be on my way." He said. "See ya around Romeo." You told him. "See ya, (N/N)". The two of you shared a calm hug before he opened the digital portal to travel back to the virtual reality while you went upstairs.

Once you were alone in your bed, you couldn't sleep, something about what Romeo said got you thinking. Back when you played the game you had a serious thing for him, now that you befriended him you wondered, were you actually starting to really fall for him? What if you are? Then you really are his Juliet. You were from a different world from him and you could never properly be with him yet you're so hopelessly in love with him. If only you two had your own little world where you could be together, with all that would keep you two apart only bringing you closer. At least you could still see him and be around him from time to time. Like he said, it was your curves and his edges.
