The Redstone Heart (3/5)
(Friendly reminder: these Oneshots will not have any shipping in these. Secondly: I swear I didn't mean to make this last so long XD)
Lukas's PoV
He gripped the table with shaking fingers. "I said no..." he shuddered. However, it felt like his body had a mind of its own. "I-I did what you asked me to PAMA!" he protested as his left eye's vision turned red with static and glitches.
"But I never said I was done with you yet, my pawn." PAMA's voice echoed in his head, growing stronger and stronger as Lukas fought back. "You- you tricked me." he managed to say as his fingers trembled, the last piece of the Heart beating in his hands.
"No one will recognise you Lukas," PAMA said soothingly as he tried to reach for the chip at the back of his head. "I-I won't do your bidding anymore!" But he was too late as PAMA controlled him, anger ruling over fear. Without a word, PAMA forcefully placed the last chip, which was bigger than the others right over where Lukas's own heart was.
There was a loud beep as the chip activated, latching right into him.
And everything faded to black as PAMA took over once again.

Jesse's PoV
A loud explosion echoed throughout the woods, making everyone freeze. "Did you... hear that?" Olivia asked. But no one answered her as the sound of rushing wind swept over them and the entire town, casting everyone into a dark red light.
"What's going on?" Axel asked, taking out his iron sword and a piece of TNT. "Jesse! What's going on?" someone from town asked as he felt that familiar presence. "No... anyone but that." he said, gripping his sword tightly as another loud explosion sounded. There was a sudden ringing sound as Olivia gasped. "There!"
Two beams of light shot out from the woods and into the sky, glowing with harsh red light. "What is that?" Axel asked but Jesse wasted no time.
"Axel, Olivia, get to the sources of the light on the left. I'll take the right." he said and without waiting for a response, Jesse headed into the woods, following the red beam.
************************
He hoped he wasn't too late. And he definitely hoped it wasn't what he thought it was. However that hope vanished as soon as he saw it. A very familiar looking pillar which had a red beam of light shooting into the sky.
Jesse pressed a hand against the pillar, which was hot to the touch, making him immediately pull his hand back. He couldn't climb it, since it was too hot. Jesse didn't have a bucket of water... just great. "Lukas," He turned and suddenly remembered that the blonde was gone...
A lump formed in his throat as he remembered but it's been going on like this for years, with Jesse not being able to accept Lukas's death. He held his breath and slowly let it out, calming his nerves. He had to do this alone then.
No bucket of water... no blocks to pile up and deactivate the strange pillar.. which meant Jesse had to do something else. Unsheathing his diamond sword and pickaxe, he dug both tools into the hard quarts blocks and started to climb up with them.
Soon, his feet started to become uncomfortably hot, and beads of sweat formed on his face. But he had to keep going.. if this was related to... PAMA... Jesse had to keep fighting. He couldn't forgive that stupid computer for making him lose his friend.
He grabbed the top of the pillar and gasped with sudden pain, as he withdrew his hand. He looked down at his hand and saw that it was already blistering from the heat. It wasn't like this the last time... maybe Harper was working with PAMA again... that traitor.
Jesse dug in his pickaxe into the stone and looked at the block, which seemed to be pulsing with red light. He inhaled sharply. It was the Redstone Heart... but why was it broken? But still beating? Jesse shook his head, whatever it was, he knew he had to stop it. Pulling out his sword from the pillar and barely holding on with one hand, he swung his diamond sword back and-
A loud snap of a bowstring made Jesse turn just in time to see an arrow fly towards his hand and made him lose his grip. Jesse instinctively let go of the pillar and he started to fall.
Quickly, he raised his pickaxe and hit the block in front of him, stopping his fall. He looked around, wondering where did the arrow come from. Jesse narrowed his eyes as he pulled out the tipped arrow of poison from the block, it's acrid acid smell wafting into his eyes and making them water. How could Ivor smell this so long ago?
"Surprising, isn't it Jesse?" a familiar voice rumbled from around him as the whole town turned even darker, as if it was sucking away all the colour. Jesse looked down at the arrow, his hand shaking because right on the wooden shaft was Lukas's name. Jesse could remember the blonde carving each arrow with his name, so that each arrow could always be returned to him.
And if this arrow had Lukas's name... Jesse looked down and realised that he wasn't that far from the ground. He pulled out his pickaxe and dropped to the grass floor, dropping into a roll and getting on his feet, just in time to see a figure standing in the shade of the trees.
Jesse gripped his diamond sword tightly as the figure approached, a wicked grin on his face.
"Hello again Jesse." Lukas smiled, both of his eyes glowing with harsh red light, making Jesse remember those many years ago. "PAMA." Jesse muttered as Lukas- no, PAMA laughed, a strange robotic laugh which made Jesse's worst nightmares come true.
"I see you're still as foolish as ever." PAMA said. Usually he could hear Lukas's voice beneath the robotic voice but now... Jesse couldn't hear Lukas's voice, no matter how much he tried to strain his ears to hear for any sign of the blonde. Which meant...
"I've killed you once," Jesse pointed his sword at PAMA with tears in his eyes, "And I can kill you again."
And he charged.
With a loud cry, he ran towards Lukas and swung back his sword. But Lukas didn't even move, he just smiled as Jesse skidded to a stop in front of him, his sword nearly touching Lukas's throat and with tears streaming down his cheeks as he couldn't bring himself to hurt his friend. "Pathetic." PAMA said, tilting his head down at Jesse as he angrily wiped away his tears, the trembling blade just inches away from Lukas's throat.
"I thought for the past few years you've grown stronger but I guess I was wrong. Oh," PAMA smiled wickedly. "Good job with the Admin, Jesse. I must say it was brilliant. But you have to be smarter than that to defeat me."
Jesse's sword hand trembled as Lukas held out a chip, "I analyse my enemies before I attack Jesse, that's your weakness. You're always too..." PAMA laughed, "How should I say? Too rash. Always willing to attack first. So Jesse, you have the energy to run over to me, but you don't have what it takes to swing that sword."
Without warning, Lukas took out a arrow, shrouded with green poison and swung at Jesse, who immediately avoided it. Jesse watched with panic as Lukas drew his bow, and with no hesitation, he shot the arrow right at Jesse's head.
Jesse dived for his sword and got up just in time for Lukas to swing a iron sword at him. Jesse quickly pushed Lukas back, breathing heavily. He couldn't defeat Lukas in a sword fight, he was too strong. If only he could deactivate PAMA without hurting Lukas, just like last time.
Just as Jesse swung his sword at Lukas's legs, trying to make him lose his balance, Lukas suddenly glared at Jesse and winced, clenching a hand over where his own heart was.
"The other pillar." PAMA muttered as Jesse saw the other beam of light die, the light fading and making him smile. Olivia and Axel must've deactivated it.
"I'm done playing with you Jesse, it's been fun." Lukas turned to Jesse and swung, this time, aiming to kill. Each blow was deadly as Jesse blocked all the strikes as much as he could, using every sword technique Petra had taught Jesse so long ago.
"Why won't you just die already?!" PAMA screeched, anger in it's voice as Jesse grew tired, but he kept fighting back, trying to keep PAMA at bay while his friends arrived. "I- won't-!" Jesse yelled back, shoving Lukas away. He raised his sword, ready to wound Lukas but he hesitated, like he did previously.
"Your fatal weakness," PAMA said smugly and Jesse gasped when Lukas plunged his sword into his sword arm, making him drop his weapon. "No!" Jesse cried, tears in his eyes as PAMA pulled out the sword and raised it to stab Jesse again.
Jesse grabbed his sword with his left hand, and blocked it but he was too weak and Lukas's blade stabbed him in the eye, but not deep enough to kill. "Jesse!" he heard someone cry as Lukas pulled out the sword from Jesse's eye.
"I won't be so merciful next time." PAMA said to Jesse as he looked up at his friend, his right eye useless. "I'll- fight-." Jesse's whole body was in pain. This was much more than the Admin, or the White Pumpkin. This was a computer he had to fight with. Not his friend.
"Let's see if you have the strength." PAMA said, throwing down a familiar looking golden sword. Jesse held a hand over his bleeding eye as more tears trailed down his other eye. "P-petra. YOU KILLED HER?"
Lukas narrowed his eyes. "Sure I did. She was so easy to take down. And I'm surprised you're still holding up." PAMA said with a smug smile, a smile which would haunt Jesse forever.
Jesse cried, blood dripping from his wounded eye and onto the ground. He couldn't see... he felt someone kick him on his side, making him fall over even more. Jesse could hear the rushing sound of water nearby as he raised his head, towards a cliff. "JESSE!" he heard someone cry, probably Olivia.
PAMA kicked him again, closer to the edge but Jesse grabbed his sword with his injured right arm and dug it into the dirt, trying to hold on. "I-I won't give up-." he managed to say as he looked up at Lukas, who looked down at him mercilessly.
"That's a shame." PAMA said, "Because I'm a busy person Jesse, I don't have time for this. And besides," PAMA's eyes glowed. "You're no use to me since you're injured. Goodbye Jesse."
Lukas kicked away the sword, making Jesse lose his grip on it. He tried to hold onto the grass beneath but but it was too late. Lukas pulled Jesse up and laughed. "Just like last time in Sky City, huh?" he smiled and with that, he threw Jesse over the edge, right down the edge of the cliff.
