F.Jesse's PoV
I looked up at the darkening sky and wondered if Petra would really meet me here. Up on the hill of BeaconTown, far away from anyone to hear us. I sighed when the pixelated clock in my hand shifted a bit, to indicate that it was midnight. "Jesse, there you are." I turned to see Petra, climbing up the hill, her golden sword, Miss Butter, slung on her back.
"What took you so long?" I asked, a little impatient. "Well, you're the one who scheduled a midnight picnic." Petra answered, plopping down beside me and setting Miss Butter away from us. "I've already eaten my share." I shrugged and gestured to the assortment of fruits and a random potato.
"You know I hate potatoes." Petra laughed as she reached for the apples. "Yeah, Petra, I totally packed this. It was Lukas who helped me set this all up." I said, a little nervous, all of a sudden. Did she like me? Or did she not? How would she react if I said Lukas' name?
Petra, however, just looked at me. As if waiting for more. "Umm... Petra, I don't know how to say this but..." I could feel myself turning red as I tried to form my thoughts into sentences. "Do you like Lukas? As in, more than friends?" I asked casually, feeling myself turning red in the process.
"Lukas?" Petra laughed, as if she seemed relieved or something. "I wanted to ask you that same question though," she added and twiddled the ends of her hair, like always.
"That stupid, charming, perfect Lukas? He's a good friend, great for backup, brave, but more than friends? Not really? He's really helpful though." Petra replied with a laugh. Phew. I could feel myself relaxing and Petra looked up at the moon, which was slowly drifting to the horizon.
"Petra. Then... who do you like?" I asked, the blush in my cheeks as I awaited her answer. Petra looked at me and smiled, just a little. "It's weird to say this but..." she looked at me. "You. I like you Jesse. More than anything in the world, you've been there for me. And I appreciate that."
I looked at Petra as she leaned forwards and kissed me, straight on the lips. Holy Heckmouth. I can't believe I was... kissing a girl. I closed my eyes and finally relaxed, a weight off my chest.

The song above is called, "Blood Red (Turn the Dollar Green)" by Blacklite District. It's a catchy song and I was listening to this while editing this.
