On the Train (M.JessexPetra)
Petra's PoV
Petra stared at her reflection in the glass, hoping she wasn't imagining anything. There was a boy staring at her... that's all. But why? She looked at the boy and they made eye contact.
The green eyed boy dropped his gaze and looked at the floor, twirling his fingers around his white headphone wires. Petra frowned a little, nervously rubbing her fingers together. Why was he staring at her? In the train?
He didn't look like anyone she knew. The boy had messy brown hair and the greenest eyes she'd ever seen. Like plants. And there was a tiny scar on his cheek... which Petra found rather adorable on him.
Dressed in a plain white shirt and blue jeans, he looked like a rather outgoing, plain but popular kid. Strange. So why was he staring at her? Petra was just an average looking girl... maybe she should just go up to him and ask what's his problem.
Sighing, Petra slipped her headphones down to her neck and got up from her seat, where a young woman immediately took her place. "Hey." Petra said sternly, folding her arms.
The boy looked up at her and smiled. "Hey." Were boys this causal when talking to girls? Petra pushed that thought away and got straight to her question. "Why were you looking at me?" she demanded.
The boy brushed his hair away from his face and stood up, slipping his headphones around his neck. "Because you're in my Bio class. You're Petra, right?" he asked.
Bio? Petra narrowed her eyes and tried to remember. "You don't have to pay attention to me, I'm usually quiet most of the time." the boy laughed.
"Were you that guy who blew up the lab?" Petra asked. The boy grinned. "Yep. I'm known as The One who Blew Up the Lab." he held out a hand. "But my friends call me Jesse."
Petra raised an eyebrow and shook his hand. It was the first time Petra shook hands with a boy and to be honest, she liked it. "So why were you staring at me? Couldn't you just get up and walk to me?" Petra asked.
Jesse shrugged. "I didn't know if you were looking at me, or your reflection in the glass behind me."
"That's not an excuse." Petra shoved his arm gently, making him smirk. "Okay, I thought you were really pretty." Jesse admitted.
Wait, what? "You just never seemed to notice me in Bio, so I just kept to myself." Jesse sighed, looking up at the map of the stations.
"Sorry... look, Jesse, why not you hang out with me? After school? I'm sure Aiden and my other friends won't mind." Petra suggested.
Jesse looked at her. "Really-?" but a cool female voice overhead them announced the station name.
"Oh crap- here's my stop, gotta go." he said, looking at the windows. Petra quickly pulled out her lucky black gel pen and wrote her phone number on his palm.
"Call me, okay? You don't have to be alone anymore."
