Deadliest Weapon (LukasxPetra)

Needed some writing prompts ~ I hope you guys liked it

Lukas's PoV

Lukas watched as she approached the stage, holding her head up high.

Typical of Petra, since she was always the strongest and the bravest in their entire village... the one who could stand up to the bullies and monsters that lurked in the shadows... and also the one who had somehow stolen Lukas's heart.

Petra smiled as she walked past his seat, giving him a slightly nervous smile as she climbed onto the stage. She had every right to be nervous, since it was a special day for all of the sixteen year olds.

The Weaponry Choosing Ceremony, as the town liked to call it.

Petra and Lukas had always been looking forward to it, speculating what weapon would they get. Lukas smiled fondly at the memory, still watching as Petra bowed to Soren, the leader of their town.

Lukas's mind drifted as he thought about what weapon would he get. He'd always wanted a set of bows and arrows, just like his idol, Soren. Ever since he was young, Lukas had admired Soren's ways, how he was fair, and brought justice to the people of Beacontown.

The four members of the Order, each representing a virtue the town followed. But that wasn't important now, what was important was what weapon Petra was going to get.

Because in this world, each weapon had a mind of their own. Be it a sword or a shield or even a spear, each weapon could speak to its owner and they had to stay together forever. If anyone were to lose their weapon...

It was punishable by death. Simple as that.

Lukas wiped his slightly sweaty palms on his jeans, watching as Petra held out a hand in front of the Box. A special kind of chest which granted weapons to their owners.

Everyone went quiet as Petra took a deep breath and reached into the chest. For a moment, it glowed with gold light before fading away just as Petra pulled out a small dagger, glowing with faint gold light.

Everyone clapped to congratulate the girl, who beamed with pride and raised her new dagger into the air. Lukas looked down at his clammy hands just as he saw Petra's gaze turn his way.

After a few minutes, the clapping died down as Soren called for the next owner. "Hey!" someone bumped into his shoulder, making him immediately look up. "Aren't you gonna be happy for me?" she smiled her familiar warm smile.

"Duh," Lukas laughed as a green eyed boy walked up to the stage. "I'm glad you've got a dagger. I mean, I know you've always wanted a sword but-."

"Oh, psh," Petra waved a hand absentmindedly, "Why get a sword when you can get a dagger which is so much lighter?" she tossed it into the air and caught it again.

The blade glowed faintly, before it crackled with electricity. "Whoa.." Lukas stared at its shiny gold surface, "I'm pretty sure that's a enchanted gold blade. One of the rarest there is." the blonde nodded. "If I were you, I'd take better care of it."

Petra smirked, "Well, Miss Butter likes it." she tossed the dagger into the air before catching it again, brushing away a strand of her auburn hair out of her face. A gesture Lukas was familiar and fond of. He felt his face heat, turning away from the girl and looking up at the stage.

After two more people received their weapons, Lukas felt his stomach drop when Soren called him up on stage. "Good luck!" Petra smiled, waving at him as he stood up from his chair. "Let's hope you get that bow you've always wanted."

As he was walking, he remembered something. His family had always told him that the deadlier the weapon, the more powerful his family would become. And all along, his family always had the best.

The enchanted ring his father wore practically made him invisible whenever he wanted to. His mother had a spear, which could summon lighting and create storms. His older brother had a shield which would make him one of the strongest in the land.

And now it was Lukas's turn to bring honour to his family.

Lukas stepped up onto the stage, nervously holding onto the front of his shirt as he stood before his idol.

"Lukas Porter," Soren announced, smiling down at him as he raised his arms, "May the weapon you've been grated to be yours."

With a shaky breath, Lukas reached into the chest, feeling nothing except for the hard surfaces of the wood and.. he froze.

What if he didn't have a weapon?

Was he going to be the only one without a sword or a bow or anything special? He would be an outcast... and what would his parents say-

His hand brushed against a small object, making him confused. It wasn't a bow or an arrow... which made him feel slightly disappointed. Lukas grabbed the object and pulled it out, and in his hand was...

"Lukas Porter," Soren announced as the blonde turned around to face the crowd, feeling his face heat with embarrassment as everyone went quiet. "Your chosen weapon is a... pen. Use it wisely and good may come to you."

**************************

"A pen." Lukas sat at the dock glumly, with Petra who had strapped her dagger to her belt. "What the heck am I gonna do with a pen?"

Petra sighed, tying her hair up with a blue rubber band. "I'm sure it'll come to you eventually Lukas," she held another rubber band in between her teeth, "What did your parents say?"

Lukas shrugged, "They were kinda disappointed... after all, there's really nothing you can do with a pen.."

Petra snorted, "Maybe you can ask the monsters to sign autographs for you."

Lukas looked at her, making her drop her smile. "Oh.. sorry, Lukas.. not funny.." she sighed, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Look, why not you just ask the pen for advice? Our weapons can talk to us, remember?"

Lukas looked down at the simple gold ballpoint pen, which was etched with his name and with a diamond at the end.

When he first met up with Petra after the ceremony, he had immediately disregarded the pen, calling it girly and useless. Ever since then, the pen didn't seem to talk at all.

"Maybe I broke it." Lukas muttered, looking down at it as Petra squeezed his shoulder. "Don't worry too much about it Lukas," she reassured him, I'm sure everything will be alright in the end. Just try talking to the pen and find out what you're gonna do with it. Alright?"

Lukas sighed, smiling at her, "Thanks Pet. You always know how to cheer me up."

The girl smiled, blushing a little. Something she rarely did her being the tough girl from around. "You're such a charmer, Lukas. But it's no problem. You're my best friend and I'm always here to support you... and we better get going," she gestured to the sun.

"It's getting late."

Lukas stood up, holding out a hand for the girl to take. "Ladies first," he grinned as Petra rolled her eyes, "Stop." she smirked but still accepting his hand.

[ One week later ]

"That's the third time this week Petra.." Lukas rubbed his bruised arms as she patched up his bleeding knee. "I don't know when will they ever stop.."

The two were currently in the forest, near the back of their school and hidden away from view. Lukas remembered there were monsters in the woods but he knew most of them were neutral. And wouldn't attack them unless provoked.

"I'm sure they'll stop soon, Lukas... bullies always do." she told him as she wrapped his wounds with bandages.

"But they just keep coming back.." he trailed off as Petra sat beside him on the dewey grass, offering a bottle of water which he accepted gratefully. Petra always knew what to do.

"I'm really sorry you have to go through all this Lukas.." she sighed, "If only there's some way to stop them.."

"Aiden and Jesse will never stop.." Lukas muttered, gritting his teeth, "They never will."

"Don't be upset Lukas," Petra muttered, looking at him as she leaned against him gently, "If they ever bully you again, just come to me."

Lukas raised an eyebrow, "Yeah right... and they'll tell me that I'm being weak and that I need a girl to stand up for myself." he murmured, burying his head in his arms. "I'm useless Pet.."

He felt her squeeze his shoulder gently, "You're not useless Lukas, stop saying that! You're kind and caring and you have a brilliant mind. Just like Soren!" she praised him.

"There's never a problem you can't solve.. and you always said that it takes time to analyse a problem before solving it. So time will make these stupid bullies back off."

Lukas stared at the grass, watching as patches of sunlight filtered in from between the leaves of the trees above them. "I suppose you're right.." he sighed, looking straight at Petra, who was... surprisingly looking back at him.

"Uh.. sorry," he muttered nervously, turning away and feeling his face flush for being caught staring right at her.

However, he flinched when he felt her hand rest on top of his, making him look up at her, "Don't be sorry, Lukas." she smiled her small smile, which Lukas had grown to know and love.

"Don't ever be sorry-." she looked up, and gasped.

"Move!" she yelled, pushing him out of the way just as something swiped at them with its claws.

"What the-?" Lukas scrambled back as the monster growled at them, it's beady purple eyes trained on him.

"A Enderdragon?" he whispered, remembering the pictures in his textbooks as Petra unsheathed her dagger, "I don't care what it is!" she swung down her blade at the grass, charging it up with blue electricity. "Just tell me how to kill it!"

Lukas wracked his brain, trying to remember how to kill Enderdragons just as it snarled and swiped at them again. He leapt back, nearly dodging its talons.

"Uh, Enderdragons are rare.. they live in forests and eats people-." he rambled as Petra sighed at him, "Could you remember something less depressing?"

"They're scared of.. uh.. enclosed spaces!" Lukas snapped his fingers. "Well done genius!" Petra replied, dodging its claws again and stabbing one of the dragon's eyes, making it roar with fury. Purple fire shot from its mouth as it hissed at the pair.

"This forest is too wide to hold this stupid lizard. We need a cage or something!" she stood beside Lukas, who had pulled out his pen.

"A cage? Wait..." he trailed off. He had an idea.

"Petra, keep the dragon busy, I need to start writing!" he knelt in the grass and rummaged through his bag, looking for a book.

"Lukas you egghead!" Petra practically yelled at him, "This isn't the time for writing your obituary!"

Lukas ignored her and found a book, flipping it open and smoothing the page just as Petra stabbed the dragon's chest, making it roar again and snap at her.

Lukas took a deep breath and wrote on the page as quickly as he could. The pen glowed with faint blue light as he tried to concentrate.

In front of him, he could hear Petra yelling insults at the dragon, making it furious and become reckless, swinging its head at trees and accidentally bite into rocks. But Lukas knew Petra couldn't distract it much longer... he had to keep writing.

"-with one last hit from her dagger, the dragon was paralysed with shock.. and therefore, it fled into the safety of the forest, leaving us alone." Lukas finished writing, slamming the book shut just as Petra backed right against him. Making Lukas instinctively grab her by the shoulders to steady her.

"Lukas?" Petra asked worriedly as the pen glowed even brighter, working its magic.

The dragon snarled again just as Petra drew her arm back and threw her dagger straight into its other eye, a prefect shot.

The dragon hissed, shaking its head and throwing Petra's bloody dagger onto the grass, spraying purple sparks everywhere. Afterwards, the dragon snapped at the two as a warning before it stumbled away blindly, now without any eyes.

Petra turned to Lukas, out of breath from her fight. "H-how... dragons don't usually leave their prey. They keep fighting till the death." she murmured. "How did you do that?"

Lukas held out the golden pen. "Well," he hesitated, "Everything I write comes true."

Petra stared at him, "Whoa.." she trailed off, "That's really powerful. Like, really. You can even change the future and- and.. just wow.."

Lukas nodded, "I thought it was silly-."

"Silly?!" Petra laughed, tackling him in a hug, "You're being silly! You saved our lives!"

Lukas blushed, "It's nothing-." but he was cut off by Petra, who had kissed him with her arms around his neck and a smile on her face.

"You dork," she told him after she pulled away, her face burning. "Never let me hear you say you're useless anymore. Okay?"

Lukas nodded, unable to believe what just happened. "You dork," she repeated, "Let's get out of here before any more monsters think we're a tasty snack.." she smirked and with a sudden burst of courage, Lukas reached out and took her hand.

She smiled and together, the two left the forest.

-End (😊)
* This is practically the longest I've ever written, I hope you guys liked it* 💕

Edit: Okay, just saying, the next chapter, is a continuation.

Because... 😹 Ram_mcdougle wanted to know more about this 'dimension' and Loaqis wanted Hadrian and Mevia.

SO BOOM. *puts on dem glasses because I can*

But the next chapter involves M.Jesse and Aiden. But you can skip those 'love' parts if you wanna.

Since after THAT chapter, it's also a continuation, but it involves Hadrian and Mevia. (Just like you asked Loaqis ) :))))

HOWEVER, for you Luktra and Jaiden fans, the final chapter involves Lukas, Petra, Jesse and Aiden all together and all in the same dimension as well. I hope I'm making sense... and jeez, I must really like this dimension because *weak laughter* I wrote over three thousand words for that Hadrian and Mevia chapter. and... it involves something that had to do with the Admin (aka, Romeo) (*evil cackling*) 😏😉 anyway, NO MORE SPOILERS. GOODBYE.

First : Deadliest Weapon
Second: Dragon Claws
Third: The Beginning and the End
