4 AM Isn't Get-Up-and-Go Time Either

Sequel to "2 AM Isn't Get-Up-and-Go-Time
___

After the whole catastrophe of not being able to wake up Jesse, things had relatively calmed down. The 2-hour drive to the airport went rather quietly.

Olivia took most of the shift as driver, but eventually Lukas offered to take the wheel for the last stretch. Axel had managed to sleep for most of the ride, while Petra had just boredly stared at the passing landscape, frequently letting out frustrated groans or sighs.

Jesse? She slept through the entire thing like a rock. Curled up on the back seat in between Petra and Axel, sounding snoring the ride away.

"I hate to break it to you all, but we're nearly there and Jesse is still sleeping." Petra spoke up at one point, glancing down at Jesse. She looked mildly annoyed - Jesse had decided her lap made the perfect pillow, and hadn't budged from that position since she got into it.

"Well, she better wake up, otherwise I will actually squirt out a bottle of water all over her." Olivia said from the passenger seat, glancing back with a glare fixed on her face.

"For Jesse's sake, I hope her mental alarm clock goes of soon then." Lukas said with a chuckle from the driver's seat.

"Come on bud, you don't want to be walking around soaked at the airport, right?" Axel said, giving Jesse a prod with his hand.

As a response, Jesse just swatted his hand away, nuzzling up closer to Petra - much to the redhead's annoyance and frustration.

"I can't wait until we can get out of this car." Petra said with a long, dragged out groan. "Not only are my legs screaming for movement by now, but somebody has been drooling all over my pants for the last thirty minutes!"

Axel gave Jesse a few more prods, to which she didn't really respond much either. Giving up the effort, Axel had just folded his hands behind his head and leaned back in his seat, leaving the puzzle of waking up their friend for when they got to the airport.

The sun was beginning to slightly peek over the horizon as they finally arrived, Lukas pulling up their car in the indoor parking lot.

"Freedom!" Petra bellowed, her voice echoing through the building as she lifted Jesse off her lap, leaping out of the car.

"Keep it down!" Olivia hissed at Petra, looking around in embarrassment to see if they were heard.

"So, what are we doing about the madam on the back seat?" Lukas asked as he too stretched out his tired limbs. "Because even if we wake her up, I don't think she'll be boarding the plane like that."

"Over my dead body!" Olivia said quickly. "She looks like a homeless we picked up at the side of the street, I am 100% not letting her even enter the main building like that.

So our first task now, wake her up."

"I call dibs on unpacking the suitcases." Axel said quickly, striding around to the back of the car.

"And I'm helping him!" Petra added quickly, darting after him.

"I would like to say I'm joining them, but I have a feeling you will murder me." Lukas said, grinning.

"Now that you've got right." Olivia said, rolling her eyes. She glanced around again. "Thankfully there's not a lot of people around. I do not want to gain an audience."

Lukas leaned into the car, placing a hand on Jesse's shoulder and giving her a firm shake. "Come on now, Jesse, it's 04:00 already. It's not that early any more."

Jesse let out a light moan in her sleep, her hand sluggishly trying to swat Lukas away. Another few shakes from both him and Olivia, and Jesse's eyes finally opened slightly. She closed them almost immediately after again.

"No, no, no, you're waking up now." Olivia said, pulling Jesse up into a sitting position by her arm.

"Tired." Jesse mumbled, not opening her eyes. "Sleep... wanna."

"You've had enough sleep for now." Lukas insisted, lifting her head slightly to keep her awake. "Once we're on the plane, you can sleep as long as you want."

"Okay." Jesse simply responded, even though she didn't seem to have actually taken in what Lukas said.

"Come on." Olivia said, pulling on Jesse's arm to coax her out of the car.

Eyes only halfway open, Jesse weakly shuffled along the seat in the direction of the open door. Olivia took her by the arms, struggling her out of the car. However, the moment Jesse had to put weight on her legs, she completely collapsed onto the concrete flooring with a thud.

"Is she okay?" Lukas asked, immediately darting around the car to their side.

Axel and Petra peeked around the corner as well, Petra raising her eyebrows and Axel gulping back a snort when they saw Jesse, sprawled out on the floor with her eyes once more closed.

"Now how did that just happen?" Petra asked, crossing her arms and trying to hide her grin.

"I guess you could say we thought she was awake." Lukas responded as he bent down, slipping his hands in underneath Jesse's armpits and lifting her into a standing position again. He kept his hold on her as her knees immediately threatened to buckle again.

"Come on, Jesse, Lukas can't do the walking for you." Olivia said in annoyance.

Jesse blinked her eyes open sleepily, giving Olivia nothing but a blank stare in response. Her eyes were still droopy from sleep, her brown hair standing all over the place in a tangled mess.

"You do, realise-" Petra said as she heaved another suitcase out of the trunk. "-people are probably going to assume she's drunk."

"If I didn't know any better, that's what I'd think!" Axel added with a grin.

"Okay." Olivia said, taking a deep breath and checking her watch. "We already don't have a lot of time."

"Don't look at me!" Petra said quickly when Olivia turned directly to her.

"Yes, I'm looking at you." Olivia brushed off the redhead's complaint. "Jesse's not boarding that plane in her pyjamas, we need to somehow get her dressed into something."

Petra let out another long dragged out groan, leaning back against the car. She looked over at Jesse who looked like she was on the verge of falling asleep on Lukas. "I really hate you right now, you know that right?"

"Yep." Jesse replied sleepily, still not seeming to register exactly what was being said to her.

"You go help Axel with the suitcases." Olivia said to Lukas, wrapping her one arm beneath Jesse's to support her. She gestured for Petra to take Jesse's other side. "We'll find the nearest rest room and get her in into a something a bit... less revealing, than what she has on right now."

"I never thought today would start the way it did." Lukas said to Axel as they watched Olivia and Petra stagger away with Jesse, who was practically dragging after them.

"Me too dude, me too." Axel agreed with a chuckle.

After unpacking everybody's suitcases and locking the car for the rest of their holiday, Axel and Lukas trekked into the building with all their stuff. They met up with the three girls, right as they excited one of the restrooms.

Jesse still looked half asleep, her head leaning over onto Olivia's shoulder and her eyes closed. She was now dressed in a sweatshirt and sweatpants, seemingly just pulled on over her pyjamas. They had also pinned up her mass of uncombed brown hair in a messy bun, trying to at least make it look like there was some form of an effort.

"Well, you accomplished something." Lukas mused as he and Axel came up to them.

"It's like she's forgotten how to even use her limbs." Petra grumped, looking annoyed to the maximum.

"Listen, Jesse, you have to at least start walking on your own." Lukas said, a grin playing on his lips.

"Mm." Jesse just mumbled, giving a sleepy nod.

"Come on, feet on the ground." Petra said firmly, nudging Jesse to try and wake her up. "Otherwise I'm just going to let go, and you can pick your own sorry ass off the ground."

At first Jesse's legs remained pretty much limp beneath her, but then she finally got the hang of placing her feet down on the ground.

But the moment Olivia and Petra let go, Jesse slid down against the wall until she was sitting flat on the ground. Eyes getting ready to droop close again.

"Are, you, kidding, me?" Petra groaned in frustration, ripping off her bandanna and swiftly raking her hands through her red hair.

"Get up, bud." Axel said, giving Jesse a nudge with his foot. "We're not carrying you again."

Jesse looked up at them with droopy eyes, before looking down again. She blinked sleepily, trying to push herself up on her arms. Only to sink down again and close her eyes.

A few people were walking by, slightly craning their necks to see what was going on, before continuing down the hallway.

"I'm going to offer you a hand, but then you walk on your own - get it?" Olivia said firmly, extending a hand.

Jesse gave Olivia a lopsided grin and a nod, clumsily taking her friend's hand and letting Olivia pull her to her feet. She staggered on the spot, looking ready to drop back down again. But then she caught her balance, finally standing on her own. Slightly slouched over, but standing nonetheless.

"See? Knew you could do it!" Lukas said, giving Jesse a pat on the back.

"Okay, we're really freaking late." Olivia said, glancing at her watch. "Come on guys."

Everybody started walking down the hallway, Lukas and Petra being the ones to take Jesse's bags and suitcases for her. She was trudging along at the back, eyes barely open.

And then they heard a thud. Turning around to see Jesse back on the floor, face planted into the ground.

-------------------------

It had been a difficult ordeal, but the Order had managed to board their plane in time. It was an added challenge, but at least they were able to hide Jesse's sluggish behaviour well enough to stop anybody from suspecting her to be either drunk or drugged.

And finally, everybody were able to relax as they boarded the plane. Jesse immediately fell back asleep after take-off, looking prepared to snore her way through the entire flight.

The others didn't care much, knowing they'll be in the air for hours to come.

It's been about two hours into the flight, everybody already slightly stiff and bored. Axel and Olivia were sitting beside each other, with Petra, Jesse and Lukas in the row behind them. Petra was staring out of the window beside her, watching the clouds move by. Jesse was snoozing in the middle. Lukas sat on the other side of her, calmly reading a book.

Their attention were caught by movement, and a light groan. Jesse yawned, stretching out her arms and blinking open her eyes. She smiled at Petra and Lukas, meeting their gazes.

"Oh, morning guys! What's up?"

When she didn't get a response, she slowly glanced around her, coming to the realisation of where they were.

"Uh, excuse me for asking probably a very obvious question, but when did we bored the plane?"

Lukas chuckled slightly, while Petra straight up threw her head back and laughed.

"What's so funny?" Jesse asked in puzzlement.

"That, Jesse-" Lukas said, grinning.

"-you don't want to know." Petra finished.
