"he's having an anxiety attack." Doc says, gently pulling him to his chest. "breathe with me Monty. breathe, carefully. in... and out. come on listen to me." Doc murmurs softly in his ear, holding him tightly. "breathe with me." Doc whispers to him softly, forcefully breathing slowly. he pulls the youngers head to rest on his chest and takes a deep breath in. the younger man is silently sobbing against him. he's trembling harder now than before, shakily bringing one arm up to grab onto the front of the shirt Docs wearing, his other hand still thumping against his thigh. he whimpers quietly.

"is he okay?" Junior ask worried.

"he will be. I just gotta get him calmed down and figure out what set him off." Doc assures gently. he flinches against Docs chest, taking in a deep shaky breath. the hand that had been beating on his leg, slowly stopped and he sniffled, burying his face into Docs chest. "hey come on now, you okay?" Doc ask. Lightning nodded slowly after a moment. Doc pulled back, looking into the youngers eyes. Lightning stared at him. his eyes lost, terrified, begging Doc to help him, begging for Doc to make him understand what was happening.

"D... D-Doc...?" Lightning managed quietly. Doc sighs in relief, hugging the younger tightly to his chest.

"good job. breathe. good job Monty." Doc smiles a little, though its a hesitant smile. "you had an anxiety attack, but everythings okay. alright?" Doc ask, pulling back to look him in the eyes. he nods quietly, staring at Doc.

"'kay." he mumbles.

"okay, come on, lets get you back inside." Doc says, scooping him up carefully. he knows the younger is going to need to be held by him for at least a few hours and he doesn't want to spend that time outside. "come on, I've gotta take this kid inside." Doc says, heading inside. Junior and Louise follow him down into Smokeys house. they watch him carry Lightning into the livingroom and just plop onto the couch with him, holding him gently. Lightning curls up in his lap, but he's not holding onto Doc. he's curled up, hugging himself with his knees as close to his chest as he can get.

"Hud what the hell just happened?" Louise asks.

"he had an anxiety attack. not surprising. all that shit Chicks put him through." Doc mutters. "I'm just glad it wasn't another seizure." Doc adds, sounding relieved.

"seizures?" Junior ask with a frown.

"yep been having a lot of those lately." Doc says, looking up to meet his gaze. he turns back to the man curled up in his lap. "hey Monty, you okay?" Doc ask softly. Lightning nods quietly, tightening his arms around himself, digging his nails into his sides.

"I'm going to go work on the Hornet." Junior says softly, heading upstairs. Louise nods.

"I'll make you guys something to eat." Louise murmurs, heading for the kitchen. Doc holds Lightning closer, kissing his head.

"talk to me kiddo, what set you off out there?" Doc ask softly. Lightning curled up more. "hey, its okay, come on, tell me what happened. what can I do to help you?" Doc asks, quietly, nuzzling his head. the younger man stays silent, reaching up quietly to pet Docs beard. Doc let him, the younger was trying to ground himself and he wasn't going to stop him. "hey, it's okay Monty. talk to me here, you just have to tell me what happened." Doc murmurs softly.

"86." Lightning mumbled quietly. Doc almost didn't hear it.

"what about it?" Doc ask.

"I saw it. n'it was green. n'I couldn't think..." Lightning manages. Doc frowns trying to think of what it could be that Lightning saw.

"was it a sign or a sticker?" Doc ask. Lightning shook his head a little.

"car." Lightning mumbled. Doc nods slightly, but he can't remember seeing a car.

"okay. you going to be okay if I get up real quick?" Doc asks. Lightning paled and wrapped his arms around Doc tightly.

"no!" Lightning shouted, holding as tight as he could. Doc blinks in surprise and holds him.

"hey its alright. its okay." Doc soothes gently. he kisses her head gently. "shhh I got you. its okay Monty. it'll only take a second, I just want to talk to Louise okay? I'll only be gone a second." Doc assures. Lightning shakes his head rapidly, bursting into sobs.

"no!" he shouts again. Doc hold him gently, kissing his head.

"okay. okay. shhhh. I'll stay right here with you." Doc soothes gently. Lousie pokes her head out of the kitchen worriedly. watching the two on the couch. the younger is sobbing hard enough his body is trembling and Doc doesn't know what to do. he's lost, probably as lost as Lightning is, so he holds him quietly. "I'm not gonna go anywhere. it's okay." Doc murmurs, holding him tightly. he's never seen the younger like this. he's sobbed of course and he's been terrified, but this is beyond that. Doc stands with the younger cradled in his arms gently, heading for the room they'd be staying in. "come on kid, lets just relax okay? we'll lay on the bed and relax." Doc murmurs. he lays on the bed with him gently, holding him. he kissed the youngers head and nuzzled him gently. "okay I'm not going anywhere. can you tell me where you saw it?" Doc ask.

"I.... standing with Louise...." Lightning whimpered quietly.

"okay can you tell me anything about it?" Doc ask. Lightning curled up more, going silent and shaking his head. "its okay. just tell me about the car, please?" Doc ask softly. the younger buried his face in Docs chest and the older sighed softly. he knew he wouldn't get anything else out of the younger now. he was going to be more silent than Red. "okay thats okay." he soothes gently, kissing his head.

he laid with the younger until there was a knock on the door. Red opening it carefully trying to be quiet.

"hey, can you come lay with him for a bit?" Doc ask softly. "he's asleep, I just gotta ask Louise a question." Doc adds. Red nods watching Doc get himself free from the younger. Red carefully laid with the younger and wrapped his arms tightly around him. "I'll be right back." he murmurs. he carefully heads out of the room. Louise, Mack, Smokey, and Junior were all in the living room talking. "Louise, come talk with me a second." Doc says.

"yeah sure Hud." Louise said, getting up and following him to the kitchen. "whats up? hows the kid?" Louise ask.

"asleep, did you see anything earlier?" Doc ask.

"anything like what?" she asks.

"a car? maybe the number 86? in green?" Doc ask. Louise frowned thinking about what had happened before Lightning had the episode.

"uh, I think I saw a car go by, but I didn't see anything on it. I wasn't really looking at it. but it was a dark green, almost like a pine needle." she frowns. "is that what set him off?" Louise ask.

"okay... thanks." Doc mumbles, heading back to the room with Lightning. he had been afraid Chick had managed to find them, but his car wasn't that green. he and Junior had been too busy with the Hornet to pay any attention.

"hey Hud, I finished the car... Hud?" Junior ask. Doc ignored him heading back to the room to lay with Lightning. when he got to the room though, he realized that wouldn't be possible. the younger had tangled himself with Red, clinging to him and snoring. Reds got his eyes closed, but Docs not sure if he's asleep. since the younger is taken care of, Doc grabs some clothes and heads for a shower.

he's not sure how long he's in the shower before Smokey pokes his head in.

"hey, s'gettin' dark kid. if we're gonna go we gotta go soon." Smokey says. Doc pokes his head out of the curtain and nods.

"alright let me get out and get dressed, I'll find out if the kid is feeling up for it." Doc said.

"we'll be in the cars waiting." Smokey says.

"we'll be up in a few minutes." Doc assures. Smokey nods and closes the door. Doc shuts the water off and grabs a towel, drying off. he heads for the room he and Lightning are sharing, he'd intended to get dressed in the bathroom, but he wasn't wearing one of his fancy button ups for a midnight race. Red looks over, he'd been staring at the ceiling. "hey." Doc said.

"he slept the whole time." Red mumbles. Doc nods.

"go a head and go. I've gotta wake him up anyway." Doc says. Red nods and carefully gets up, Lightning shifts and mumbles. Red flashes an apologetic look and walks out of the room, closing the door behind him so Doc can get dressed.

"hmm...?" Lightning mumbled, slowly sitting up, rubbing his face.

"hey kid, still feel up for going out tonight?" Doc ask. Lightning nods a little. "okay go clean your face up, you've got grease on it." Doc murmurs. the younger nods again and gets up, heading out of the room. when he comes back, Doc is in an old jump suit, smiling at him. "gonna wear the Hornet shirt? or you wanna change?" Doc ask. Lightning blinked and looked down at himself.

"I'd rather just wear this, unless you don't want me too." Lightning mumbles.

"wear it if you want. its okay." Doc smiles. "come on they're waiting for us." Doc murmurs. Lightning nods and follows him up to the garage.

"looking a lot better now kid." Junior says. Lightning looks up at him and shrugs.

"leave the poor kid alone Junior." Louise huffs.

"we're all good to go. we meet River on the edge. lets go." Smokey says, getting into his truck and starting it up. Doc climbed into the hornet with Lightning.

"okay kid. you've watched me on tv and in the Butte, but this isn't gonna be anything like that." Doc warns.

"Louise said something about Moonshine." Lightning frowned. "you guys drive drunk?" Lightning ask. Doc chuckled slightly.

"just wait. you'll see how we do things here." Doc assures. Lightning nodded as they followed the other three cars. "nothing dangerous, I've been doing this since before you were born, its just been a few years." Doc says. Lightning nods.

"can you still do this?" Lightning asks. Doc smirks slightly.

"in my sleep kid." Doc assures. Lightning smiles slightly as they come to a stop at the edge of the woods. Doc gets out motioning for Lightning to do the same, and they all go to stand behind Rivers car.

"moon gonna shine t'night?" Smokey asks.

"full shine Smokey." River grins pulling a few bottles from his trunk. Lightning looked between the other four.

"kid gonna be up for it?" Junior asks, looking at Lightning while taking a swig from the bottle. he makes a face and coughs. "oh yeah, full shine tonight." he grins.

"I dunno. he probably shouldn't with all the medicine he's on." Doc frowned. "but if he wants to try it he can." Doc smirks. Lightning looks unsure, looking at Doc, but shrugs. "I haven't found anything he can't handle yet. stomachs everything from a bear to my hard whiskey." Doc shrugs. Smokey passes a bottle to Doc and Lightning watches him take a big swig.

"yeah but I wasn't on all kids of meds then." Lightning muttered.

"don't worry kid, I'm still a doctor." Doc assures. Louise laughs grabbing herself a bottle.

"everyone in the cars." Smokey says. they all load up in the vehicles and Doc offers his bottle to Lightning.

"makes it a lot better." Doc assures. Lightning shrugs and takes the bottle from him. he takes a drink of it and sputters a little, before laughing and Doc grins. he hasn't heard a genuine laugh from the younger in what feels like forever. he revs up the Hornet and looks over at Smokey.

"hell yeah! lets ride!" Smokey grins holding up his bottle and speeding off into the woods. River, Junior, and Louise follow after immediately. Doc grabs the bottle from Lightning, takes himself a big swig, and speeds off after them. Lightning immediately clings to the door smiling, before reaching over and taking the bottle from Doc, taking a big gulp. Doc grins at him, drifting easily around a tree.

"sure ain't my Hornet, but it is a nice ride!" Doc grins. Lightning laughs as Doc rolls the window down. Lightning laughs and takes a drink, before catching a glance at something. he grins and looks up.

"can I open that?" Lightning ask. Doc glances up.
