      "Come on (Y/N)!  Did you seriously forget about our date?" Yelled Laurance from downstairs.  I groaned and said,"But the day is too bright to go to a movie."
      Laurance burst into my room and asked,"Well, would you rather take a walk in the park?"
      "No, it's too bright to do that."
      "What about going to a museum?"
      "Boring."
      "Come on.  You need to look on the bright side of things.  Now please, will you go to the date?"
      "Fiiiine.  I guess I'll go on our date."
      Laurance smiled triumphantly as I slowly got out of bed.  "Are you gonna leave the room so I can change?" I asked Laurance.  He blushed beet red and quickly scurried from my room.  I rolled my eyes and walked to the closet to select an outfit.  Too bright, too dark, too frilly, too short, too long.  I sighed and finally found an outfit that was at least a little bit suitable for today.  It was a light gray shirt with long sleeves.  The shirt was longer in the back so it was almost like a dress.  I wore black leggings with the gray shirt.  I quickly brushed my hair letting it fall into my face.  After I got my socks and shoes on, I stepped out of my room.  Laurance was right outside the playing on his phone.  When he heard me, he looked up.  Laurance smiled and asked,"Are you ready to go?"
      "I guess," I mumbled as enthusiastically as I could. 
      Laurance patted me on the back and said,"Come on then, let's get going so we won't miss the movie."

~Time Skip~

"We're here!" Laurance said with excitement. I just shrugged as Laurance dragged me into the theatre to but some tickets. "What movie do you want to see?" Asked Laurance
I replied,"Saddest Movie Ever."
"Are you sure you don't want another movie? Like a comedy or a romance movie?"
"Yep. Everyone is too perky in comedies."
"You know what, let's watch The Fault in Our Stars. It is sad, but it also has romance."
"Okay."
Laurance bought us some tickets along with buttery popcorn and drinks to enjoy during the movie. Finally, he led me to some seats in the theatre and we sat down to watch the movie.

~Time Skip~

"I have to admit, that movie was pretty good," I said with sincerity. Laurance nodded while wiping away the tears he had shed in the movie. It was really sad, but that was what made it good!
Finally, after a moment of awkward silence, Laurance said,"I'm going to take you out to lunch to the Karaoke Café."
I gaped. How did Laurance know that? Apparently Laurance noticed my reaction because he shrugged and said,"I'm friends with your friends too you know."
I stopped gaping and said,"Then let's get going!" I dragged Laurance to the car to go get lunch.

~Time Skip~

"Why are you always so depressed?"
I stopped mid-bite to stare at Laurance.
"Did you just ask me why I'm so depressed?" I asked.
"Yes, yes I did," Laurance replied. I thought for a moment and finally came to a conclusion to tell him. I don't know exactly why I told him, I just did.
"Well," I said. "It started like this. When I was in middle school, I was smart, had fantastic friends, and always looked at the bright side of things. One day, I heard some kids snickering at me, but I ignored it. I thought they would stop if I ignored them, but it just made it worse. After a week of snickers the kids finally made their move. They...t-they.." I started sobbing uncontrollably. The memory was so vivid and painful that it took me a minute to recuperate. Finally, I continued. "The kids pushed me down onto the sidewalk and jeered,'How is this good, huh? How is this good?' Ever since that day, I never, ever, thought about things on the bright side in case I would get hurt again."
Laurance was at a loss for words. Finally, after a minute he said,"I'm going to go sing some karaoke."
He got up from the table and walked to the stage. The DJ asked him what song Laurance wanted, but he refused. He just picked up the mic and said,"This song I'm about to sing is for that girl sitting over there." He pointed towards me and continued. "Although, I think everyone needs to remember this."
Laurance started singing.

      Tears fell from my face as I raced up to Laurance.  We embraced each other as I wept in his arms.  After a while I was finally able to speak.  I said,"I-I'll change for you L-Laurance.  I-I w-will."
      "I know you will.  I know you will," he purred back.
