Ira is the deuteragonist (second male lead) of Flames of Ember, a fantasy-romance book written by normicki. He is the third and the last prince of the Elysian kingdom and is the younger brother of Ember, the main protagonist. He is young adult (early 20s) described as not being much of a chatter and is always following behind his father.

And hence, my assigned MBTI for him:

Cognitive functions:

Si (Introverted sensing) > Te (Extraverted thinking) > Fi (Introverted feeling) > Ne (Extraverted intuition)

From all his POVs and how he interacts with other characters, Ira is undoubtedly an ISTJ, the logistician.

SUMMARY

Ira has a well known reputation within his community: he is known to be elegantly reserved and grumpy, but dangerous when it comes to his swordmanship and combat skills. He follows all types of orders under his father, the king, ensuring his rules are withheld at all times, cementing his strong loyalty.

He often clashes with his older siblings (especially Ember) due to differences in their thought process and a huge feud between them when they were children. You can see this in the early chapters, where their first meeting consist of them bickering. Ira is also very solemn, calm and collected (ISTJ vibes right there), level-headed when it comes to confronting his brother, as well as straight-forward, which is most likely associated being a sensor rather than intuitive.

INTROVERSION:

Ira always keeps things to himself and rarely shares with anyone else unless situations call for it, such as when he questioned Amber, the female lead, about her identity. He highly prefers to process his own thoughts by himself rather than with company, and can get very cynical of strangers, again as shown when he is introduced to Amber. His introversion is indicated by how much he spent most of his time alone over the course of his life, practicing his sword and his powers alone.

SENSING:

Ira's introverted sensing (Si) is what dominantly carried his thought-process in the story. He is a no-nonsense person and his goal primarily focuses on what's going on. He vividly remembers what had happened in the past and links these events to the present so that he knows what he is expecting. Spending his time thinking what will happen seems to be out of his radar. He is also a very straightforward and practical person, and dislikes when things get too convoluted or unrealistic. When he says something, he says it honestly and does not sugarcoat.

THINKING

Emotions feel foreign to Ira. He uses facts and logic in deciding the best decisions to make, and may come off as insensitive to others, but not that he cares too deeply about how they feel. Ira's auxillary function, his extraverted thinking (Te), allows him to put much emphasis on details of certain events such as discussions with his father regarding Ember's stunts, making him very observant and intelligent. Unfortunately, this is at a cost of bottling his own insecurities, especially sustained from past events.

JUDGING

Ira loves when things are well-planned and orderly. I can see this in his library-like room too, where all books are arranged properly, his place of work also rather organized. He gets overwhelmed when his routine is disturbed. For example, in the middle of the book, Ira struggles to accept a new idea that clashes against his traditional beliefs, and even he was thrown aback when his brother Ember manage to turn the tables against Ira's favor. Additionally, when he has a goal in mind, he will do whatever it takes to fulfill it, coming off as extremely stubborn.

And so, Prince Ira is a well-written ISTJ, I still love this interesting character regardless of his flaws.

Real life examples of ISTJs include Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony, Hermione from Harry Potter (debatable), Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan, and Giyuu Tomioka from Demon Slayer.
