I prefer using calligraphy text when making romance covers or blended covers. Here are some of my favorite fonts:

Here are some fonts for fantasy:

Cute fonts for teenfic/humor covers that can also be used for pastel:

Fonts for action covers, this will be better if you will add textures on it:

Fonts I used for neon covers, You just have to use neon colors, glows and outlines to make it better.

I observed that many graphic editors are so good at making their graphics but doesn't know how to choose fonts for their watermarks, so I suggest you to use simple fonts like below to make your graphic decent and elegant.

FRIENDLY TIP:
Adding texture, stroke, emboss and shadows to the font is not a bad idea but you need to make sure that it is match with the colorscheme of your graphics.
