Surviving the maze

Eco stared at Thomas once he had finished explaining his plan. It was surprisingly good and they agreed with it. Soon enough they were a couple off the ground helping Thomas lift Alby up the ivy wall. Once Eco and Thomas had climbed around 10 meters more it was clear that Eco was an extremely good climber and Thomas wasn't so Eco ended up doing most of the work while Thomas made sure Alby did not fall. Finally they were a good 30meters off the ground and Eco realised that they could go no more. They were exhausted and called for Thomas to stop. Suddenly, and click, click , whirr sound came from round the corner. A griever. Thomas and Eco let themselves hang from the vines imitating Alby's limp body but the inevitable came. Soon enough the griever started climbing the walls and Eco shouted for Thomas to untie himself and start swinging down, "Don't worry I'm right behind you." They said fixing Alby's ivy. Thomas went hesitant at first but longing to get away from the griever when suddenly Eco screamed. They looked down at their leg where the griever had dragged its sharp claw down their thigh but continued to follow Thomas.
Soon enough they were in the ground running. Eco had started to fall behind but suddenly as if a bust of energy shot through them, they ran past Thomas and reached for his arm pulling him along. They turned the corner and stopped in their tracks when they saw 2 grievers. They were cornered. They looked at Thomas and saw a lightbulb switched inside his brain. He turned to face them and said " step roll." Then he turned to face the griever. Eco didn't understand at first but once he started running they got it and followed his lead charging at the griever that was following them. Suddenly at the last moment, Eco stepped to the right and rolled, their leg throbbing but they just let out a small whimper. They looked over to Thomas and realised he was gone when hands grabbed them from the back. It was Minho. They were just about to complain to him when he put a hand over their mouth and said, "I have an idea but u need to follow me and stay silent." Then he turned to them and said the same words Thomas had said earlier. " step roll."

Soon enough they were standing there in front of the cliff waiting for the grievers to come. Their heart was beating in their chest loud enough Eco was sure Newt could hear it from the glade. Then round the corner came the first griever. It's wet skin leaving a trail of slime. Closer and closer it came. Closer. Closer. Until finally Minho shouted "Now!" And Eco stewed to the left and rolled. The first griever came rolling over the edge, closely followed by griever number two and three, the last griever stood on the edge trying not to fall over but Minho and Thomas kicked over the finally.

Eco sighed, relieved that it was over but soon enough the Adrenalin had worn off and their leg had started to throb painfully. They stifled a cry and sat down on the ground. Leg outstretched. They ripped off a strip of cloth from their shirt and tied it around their leg hoping it would stop the blood flow slightly. Flopping down, head resting against the cool floor, they were painfully aware of Thomas in the corner crying.

After about half an hour or so, Thomas stood up and said, "I think we should start to go back now." Minho just nodded and Eco tried to stand but uselessly flopped back down to the ground groaning. Thomas looked over to them a concerned look flashed across his face and he held out a hand to Eco. They took it and got up and looked over to Minho who was already standing. He just looked at them and then said, "You did good shanks." Then walked down the corridor of the maze.
