For those who don't know... Newtmas is Newt x Thomas.

1) Thomas has a fight with Gally and Newt is the only one able to calm him down...

So, just a heads up: This is set after Thomas came to the Glade but *before* Newt's 'incident' in the Maze. Also, their roles are switched. Newt is a Runner and Thomas works in the gardens.

2) Newt can't take it anymore. Any of it. Being stuck in the Glade with no way out... Every day being the same with no results... He just wants it to end... And he knows of a way to make that happen...

Thomas can't help but notice that Newt's been acting distant lately. They used to be so close but now he rarely sees the blonde anymore except at night when Thomas has to constantly wake Newt up from the horrific nightmares the blonde endures on a nightly basis.

One day, Newt doesn't come back from running the Maze and Thomas knows that something's very wrong. Just as the Doors are about to close for the night, Thomas runs into the Maze in desperate search for Newt. He eventually hears a gut-wrenching scream and follows it. What he finds sends Thomas into a total panic: Newt is laying on the ground after jumping from one of the walls, not moving and barely breathing...
