58.) You Have Glasses
N E W T
The first thing that you heard when you came up from the Box was that you were a girl. And the second was that there was something on your face. Turns out it was glasses, and thankfully not a bug of sorts. You hated having them, you were the only Glader with glasses and it made you feel weaker. The heat in the Glade made them slip down your sweaty nose and there was so many scratches on them that you might have been better off not wearing them.
"Y/N!" A voice called out to you, and you took your glasses off to squint at the approaching figure.
"Newt?" You asked as he came to a stop in front of you.
"Yeah, why'd you take off your glasses?"
"They're so scratched I can't see a shuck thing."
"Well it's lunchtime, so I figured you wanted to go with me."
"Of course." You started walking with him, but your foot caught in a hole and sent you down.
Newt helped you up, then laced your fingers with his. "Here, I'll lead you."
"I would give you a kiss babe, but I can't tell your lips from your eye right now."
He then guided your chin to interlock your mouth with his, and you internally sighed at how nice it felt.

As you walked out of the Homestead, another body collided with yours, sending you onto the ground and your glasses several feet away. Only for them to be stepped on.
"Alright shuckface." You turned to the slightly blurry figure of Thomas, who you had run into.
"I'm sorry Y/N!" He feverishly apologized, picking up your glasses. "I think they're broken."
"Fan-shucking-tastic." You muttered, looking carefully around at your surroundings. "Maybe the Creators will send another pair."
"Let me help you get around." Your friend offered, but you waved him off.
"I'm not blind, things are a teeny bit blurry. I'll be fine."
"Alright."
Later on you were cautiously making your way across the Glade unattended when something came whizzing through the air at you. "Shuck!" You screamed as the wooden axe handle collided with your head. A Builder's tool must have broken. "I did not see that coming!"
Thankfully, a medjack was right by you, and he began checking you up. "Y/N!" Thomas said as Clint was asking you if it hurt when he pressed hard on it. Which it did. "I am so sorry about your glasses!"
"It's fine, I'm fine." You assured him as Clint washed out the small cut before leaving.
"I was trying to find you earlier to ask you something but then I stepped on your glasses, and I messed it all up."
"What were you going to ask me?"
"If you wanted to go out with me."
A smile spread across your features. "Yes, and I wish I had my glasses so I could see you!"

"What are those?" Minho asked as you pulled out your glasses to read over his map.
"Reading glasses." You replied, slipping them onto your face.
"Why do you have them?"
"To read."
"Right."
A few moments later he spoke again. "Can I try them on?"
You sighed and handed them to him. "Please don't break them."
"I won't." He promised, carefully putting them onto his nose.
Your eyes widened when you looked up at him. Minho looked downright hot in your glasses, especially when he took a moment to look around curiously as his eyes adjusted to them.
"These aren't too bad." He said, and you keep down your grin. "What?"
"They make you like ten times hotter."
"Oh really?" A smirk was on his face, and before you could get too swept up in the moment you remembered the map.
"Give 'em back so I can finish reading this, and so we're not in the middle of making out when the other Runners get back." You held a hand out and reluctantly handed them to you. "Maybe later though."
