"Oh my god, why do I have to do this with YOU?" Thomas whined as we were on our way to get Newt some fertilizer.

"Trust me, I don't wanna do this with you either." Actually, I DID want to do this with him. I have liked him for quite some time now but if he is gonna hate me I am not gonna sit around daydreaming about him. Tit for tat.

"Let's just get it over with." He sighed as we made our way deeper into the deadheads.

We got the fertilizers and were coming back from the deadheads when my ankle rolled and I fell face-down on the harsh ground, dumping fertilizer everywhere, "Oww."

"Of course, you did that greenie." Thomas muttered under his breath.

"Come on, stand up you idiot." He lent a hand to me and helped me up, "You dumb shank."

"Don't call me dumb." I huffed.

** 2 months later {Time skip brought to you by Zart's Ketchup} **

"No absolutely not!" Newt exclaimed. I had just told everyone that I wanted to be a runner and the response was NOT positive.

"Woman you fall face-down while walking and you want to become a runner?" Minho looked at me like I had just sold him to a griever.

"THAT WAS ONE TIME PEOPLE!" I glared at Thomas who had apparently told EVERYONE about that fall in the deadheads.

"Look [y/n] no hate but you are too dumb to be a runner." Thomas shrugged nonchalantly.

"Well, if you can be one, then I don't think it is THAT hard." I glared back at him.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I thought that Thomas looked hurt for a second but the expression vanished as soon as it came.

"You know what I mean shank. You have like two brain cells." I answered back.

"At least I am not a pathetic girl who can't do shit correctly even if it would save my life." What did he say? Is that what he thinks of me?

"At least, I don't depend on everyone for everything like you." That was it. I felt tears starting to come but I knew for a fact that I am going to die before I cry before Thomas.

I don't know what came over me but I went to Thomas and kicked him in his business and then I left for the deadheads. I needed to be alone.

*Thomas's POV*

It had been almost 3 hours since [y/n] had left for the deadheads and the gladers were getting worried.

"I think I shouldn't have said that." I look at newt and Minho.

"You 'think'? Of course you shouldn't have said that, you dumb shank." Minho answered.

"Yeah, that was a little bit too extreme Tommy." Newt said.

"Maybe I should go apologize. I think I hurt her pretty bad." I turned around to leave for the deadheads when I heard Minho yell after me, "Just protect your jewels man." And I heard newt and Minho laughing. Those slintheads.

*Your POV*
I heard rustling behind me, "Hey [y/n]"

I wiped away the remaining tears that had escaped, "Go shuck off Thomas."

He acted like he didn't hear me and sat down next to me, "I'm sorry."

"Whatever man." I sniffed.

"No. I really am sorry. For what it is worth, I didn't mean what I said back there. You are pretty smart and independent, I was just mad."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, sure."

"Why do you hate me so shucking much?"

"Wha-"

"Don't 'what' me. You heard me, now answer." I looked at him.

"I don't hate you [y/n]." A long sigh escaped from his lips. "I know this will sound very cliché but I like you A LOT."

"What?" I expected him to come up with all kinds of excuse but not this.

"I like you" He took my hands in his, "and I tried to cover it up with hatred because you deserve someone better and more awesome than a person with 'like two brain cells'."

"Are you kidding me? You made me believe that you hated me and that you wanted me dead more than anything because you couldn't handle your feelings?" What the shuck is wrong with him?!

"It sounds stupid now that you said that out loud." He looked at the ground.

I put my hands on his cheeks and made him look me in the eyes, "You are so shucking stupid Thomas." And I pressed my lips against his. He slowly kissed back. We broke apart only when we needed air.

"Sorry about kicking you ass earlier." I smiled at him.

"Ah, it only makes our love story better." And we both laughed.
