[1] Before the Mayhem
This is a spinoff book to leztrange's Dante Zogratis oneshot called "Mayhem" in their oneshot book. I was given permission to make it into a full story. Some parts may be added from the oneshot, but I am making a few changes to better fit the story plot I am going for. Please read that oneshot and support them! Thank you!
General warnings: heavy manga spoilers (with my own twists), domestic abuse, non-con, gore, and other triggering ideas will appear later in the story. Please exit right now if you cannot handle this.

Reader POV
It was a beautiful winter's night when I heard my husband calling me.
"(y/n)!"
I looked up from tending to the fire. "Yes?"
"Can you please be a dear and go tell the maids to bring dinner up for us? I'm rather busy."
"Certainly."
Dante smiled and went back to his work. "Thank you, dear."
I called the maid to bring us dinner and she asked what we wanted.
"Roasted duck with rice wine on the side shall suffice," I said to her kindly, knowing Dante was too busy to tell her. "Thank you."
"No problem, Lady (y/n)."
I watched her leave and decided to walk to my bedroom to get a cloak as it was rather cold in the castle.
"BOO!"
I jumped in fright and saw Dante's younger brother Zenon smirking down at me as he jumped down from the wall, his bone magic retracting.
"Don't do that, Zeno! You'll scare me!"
"That's the idea, (n/n)."
I pouted and he snickered.
"Don't look so upset, (n/n). You know I'd get an ass whooping from Dante if he saw this."
"And damn right you would," I said. "How are you?"
"Fine. Say, should I by accidentally put salt all in his rice so he gets pissed off?"
I smiled faintly and shook my head. "I don't think so, Zeno. He's had a hard day."
"Whatever." He shrugged. "Oh, that reminds me." He handed me a package. "Open this in secret. You didn't get it from me, by the way."
Before I could question him, he disappeared to go bother his sister Vanica.
I opened the package he gave me, smiling happily.
It was a box of handmade sweets from my friend since she couldn't visit the castle.
Only Zenon knew that she was actually from the Clover Kingdom, a kingdom that wasn't on the best terms with the Spade kingdom.
Dante and Vanica just assumed she was some baker from the outskirts of the Spade kingdom, someone they didn't care about.
I tucked the sweets away, knowing Dante might get upset that I didn't share.
But I didn't care since he could just have someone make him sweets.
That someone was usually me since he only ate the desserts I made.
I followed the maid into his office and held the door open for her which she thanked me.
"Here is your dinner, Your Highness."
"Just leave it on the table."
The maid left and I sat down at my usual chair, knowing I would have to wait for Dante to finish his work before I could eat.
"(y/n)?" Dante got my attention. "Why aren't you eating?"
"I was going to wait for you," I said softly.
His eyes softened and he put his pen down. "Of course. I apologize, my dear."
"It's fine." I sat down in front of him, eating my own dinner.
"You should eat more," he said to me. "You're awfully thin."
I shrugged. "It's fine. I'm not really hungry."
He looked upset, but didn't say anything else. "Well, alright."
He and I ate our meal and I felt something hit my head.
"Huh?"
Dante smirked at me, holding a pea and tossing it at me.
"Oh, you're on." I picked up all the peas from my rice and threw it at him, him doing the same.
I even reinforced them with my wind attribute.
He smirked at me and stood up, picking my body up and placing it on the couch in his office.
"I believe I'm ready for my dessert, darling."
My face grew red when I felt him tugging the hem of my dress, his blue-green eyes staring at me with lust.
He used his gravity magic to keep my legs down and spread, smirking at the sight.
He licked his lips, brushing his dark hair back and removing the crown he wore so proudly.
He removed my underwear and I knew only pleasure that night.
...
"Oi, you look like shit," Zenon frowned at me during breakfast the next morning.
"Ah, did Dante go hard on you last night?" Vanica snickered. "Huh. I thought Dante would be a sub."
"Hell no," Dante glared at his sister. "(y/n) knows damn well I'm dominant in bed, right dear?"
I nodded with a red face. "Yes..."
Vanica nudged me playfully. "Maybe I'll have nieces and nephews running around the castle soon, eh?"
"Of course they'd favor me over their father," Zenon said with confidence.
Dante glared at his brother. "Why?"
"Because I'm cooler than you, loser."
Dante threw a fork at him which I blocked with my ice magic, making a shield.
"Dante," I said sternly. "Don't throw a fork at Zenon."
Dante huffed with annoyance when I stood up and wrapped my arms around him, kising his cheek.
"Don't be upset, dear. You and I both know you're the superior brother."
"Damn right."
I sat back down and Zenon glared at me but I shrugged.
Out of the two of my husband's siblings, I was closest to Zenon.
He was actually the one who met me first before any of them and he was the best man at our wedding.
But that was all I could remember.
I would often ask Dante what happened and how we met, but he would always brush it off and distract me with his charming words.
"Pigs," Zeno watched with disgust as his siblings eat their breakfast.
"Oi, shut it! If I remember, you were the big eater when we were growing up!" Dante glared at Zeno who only tsked and went back to eating his breakfast slowly.
I stared at the eggs benedict before me, getting hazy memories that even I didn't recall.
Flashback (age 10)
"Ah, ah!" My father who's face wasn't visible held a spoon up to my mouth. "Eat up, dear!"
"Dad, I'm not a baby anymore!" I pouted.
"Ciel, don't do that." A woman's voice was heard.
"Don't worry, Loyce. I won't." My father's face appeared. He had (e/c) eyes and dark raven hair, kindness in his eyes while my mother was holding another baby who was crying.
"Aw, please don't cry, Yuno!" My mother pleaded. "Ciel, do something!"
"I can't, Loyce. Yuno will be fine. Just give him food, he's probably hungry."
I slid down from my chair, moving over to my mother's. "Give him to me."
"Fine. Mind his head, (y/n)."
I held my little brother in my hand, grabbing his bottle from the table. "Ew. You need your diaper changed."
"You're more than welcome to change it," my mother invited me with a tired smile. "And to think you're the calmer of my two children. Yuno dear, take from your older sister! Let your mother sleep at night instead of hearing you cry so much."
Ralph snickered and I glared at him to shut up.
He did so and sent me an apologetic smile.
I stuck my tongue at my best friend who had recently been assigned like his father to protect my brother and I.
"How rude!" Mother chided. "(y/n) as the crown princess, you must be polite!"
"But Mom! He's being annoying."
"I don't care, sweetie. Now go change your brother's diaper."
"Ew!" However I did as I was told, even kissing my brother's toes as he giggled and rolled around in his newly cleaned diaper.
I picked him up and wrapped him in a blanket. "Yuno, you're so heavy! Gods, I often wonder how Mother carried you in her tummy for nine months! You're as heavy as a watermellon!"
He shrieked and cling to my shirt as I teasingly pretended to drop him.
"Aw, don't worry. Your older sister's got you."
But the night of my 10th birthday on October 4th, there was an uproar.
"Protect the royals!" I heard someone shout.
The door burst open to reveal my lady in waiting who urged me to get warm clothing. "Your Majesty, you must run!"
The memory began to grow hazy, but I did feel a startling warmth and I could see the castle on fire, Ralph's father carrying my brother and I to safety.
But I remember him being attacked and me defending him with my wind magic, determined to see that Yuno survived.
End of Flashback
"Darling?"
I looked up, startled. "Yes, dear?"
"Are you alright? You were staring at your breakfast for a while."
"I was?"
"Yes. What's wrong?"
I looked back down, feeling Zenon's gaze on me with worry. "Dante, who is Yuno?"
His eyes widened. "Yuno?"
"And Ciel and Loyce."
Dante's face contorted with anger. "That fucking mage failed again. Yet they're our best resource."
I gave him a confused stare. "Huh?"
"Nevermind. Don't think about it too much, dear."
I nodded, doing as I was told as that was better than to argue with him.
But I couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.
