Apology, and the Temporary End
(copy and pasted from my message board)
I'm...sorry, to say the least. When I started writing Remix, I had a minor idea of where I wanted it to go. It was going to be standalone, and clearly, things evolved past that.
I had no idea what I doing, just writing chapter-by-chapter without a real plan. I knew how the story was going to end a little before I started writing 'Past & Future,' but there were too many ways to get to that ending to just end up going in a direction that makes sense.
Remix is approaching 100k reads, and I'm extremely grateful for that—for you guys. That's part of why this is so hard. I loved, and still love you all and the story so much that I did everything I could to drag out the time until the ending. This caused inconsistencies and unnecessary things that made it hard to actually conclude the story when I was finally ready to do so. I'd added so many plot points that had been neglected and random that I couldn't tie up all the loose ends. Unfortunately, just adding more to the story to help conclude things would make the problem worse.
What's going to happen is that I'm going to tell you all how this part of the story ends. I'm going to summarize what was supposed to happen, and then I'm "finishing" the book. It's half-ässed and terrible, but it's the best I can do for the time being.
Don't worry, though. One day in the future, I'm going to rewrite Remix and Mayhem with a plan, clearer ending, and they might even have different names (the reason for the title "Remix" ended up getting scrapped, another huge issue). This is just a temporary conclusion to this part of the story until I can do it better.
I'm sorry that I've let you all down, but hopefully, some of you can forgive me over time. I'm still learning, and I wasn't ready to write Remix and Mayhem when I did. When I am ready, I'll bring it back with a start.
Until then, thanks for all the views, comments, votes, and support. It means a lot, and I'll make up for my short-comings.

As much as I hate to sound full of myself, I know a lot of people enjoyed this story, and I've received PMs about the future of Mayhem and if it really was coming back.
The short answer is no. This physical book will by marked Complete after this chapter. The actual answer, though, is yes. As I've said in the message on my board, I'm going to rewrite these books. It'll be a while, as I have other books that I'm in the process of writing at the moment. I'm also not ready to restart this, yet.
Again, part of the reason this turned out the way it did was that I wasn't ready skill-wise or experience-wise to write this story. I could probably do a much better, even a good job at this now. However, I don't think that would serve these books justice.
If you aren't too angry with me, maybe consider following me so that you can stay updated. I often post things relating to my stories on my board. If you don't want to have to look at every message there just to find the occasional on relating to this, don't worry. Whenever I make a post about a story, I label the story and urgency of the message in all caps. You'll know when it's important.
Now, without further ado, my (not great) summary of how this story was supposed to conclude:
-
(Y/n) and Monoma were going to arrive at the original lab under the orphanage. They'd get in after (Y/n) fell through a floor-board. Monoma would jump down, and the two of them were going to end up seeing everything Dr. Yu Takeyama left there.
They'd find out everything that had gone on legally with (Y/n). They also were going to find all the blue-prints (for lack of a better word) and notes that went into Monoma's creation, as well as the date he was left at his parents' door.
· · ·
All For One continues his rampage, beginning to close in on where the rest of Mayhem was. They happen to get out just in time, meeting with Kaminari, Mina, and Sero. It's hinted at that Mt. Lady has been presumed dead, and that Toga hasn't been seen anywhere for a long time.
It is decided that Mayhem + (Y/n) jr. (that's basically what he is) are going to be hidden for the next 2 1/2 days and wait for Kaminari's flight out of Japan. When the time comes, they're going to go with him, departing all the way Canada. During that time, they're sitting ducks and are anxious—waiting for (Y/n) to show up.
· · ·
Deku still can't get Risa to leave. They have another moment, but this time she decides that she's going to stay at his side. Deku agrees eventually, seeing that he really has no choice.
Risa's quirk is revealed: Rebirth. Basically, when she dies, whether it's of natural causes or if she's killed, Risa will always be reborn as herself. She'll have the same quirk, and, somehow, the same name. The only drawback is that as she gets older, she begins to forget her previous life. By the time she's a legal adult, her memory of her past life is completely erased.
· · ·
Just before (Y/n) and Monoma depart from the lab, planning to set it on fire to destroy it, they come across a large file. The file include the basic information of both of them, as well as all of Dr. Yu Takeyama's other experiments.
Everything from the day they were first thought up, to the average weight of their stools is there. The names of her experiments and the dates of their releases are also there. There are several names that Monoma recognizes, including but not limited to Saiko Intelli, Camie Utsushimi, Taneo Tokuda, and Soramitsu Tabe. (Y/n) is horrified to see (Y/n)[jr.]'s name in the file.
They decide after this discovery not to burn the place down. (Y/n) himself won't return to Japan after he leaves, but Monoma plans to come back to this place and officially document and take in everything.
Monoma finds a half-used vile of an artificial quirk used for transportation and takes the risk of injecting himself with it. It isn't compatible with the man-made nature of Monoma, and so it only partially works. It gets (Y/n) to Todoroki, but Monoma ends up in the middle of nowhere, not even sure he's in the same country.
· · ·
Yu Takeyama, tired of being used by All For One, decides that she's had enough. She injects herself with an aggression quirk and uses to make All For One lose control and go on a rampage.
She finds her old partner who has yet to leave, and the two of them depart together, using one of the quirks Takeyama engineered herself. They plan to join forces again, whether it be for nostalgia or need. Takeyama and her partner already begin to plan out their new life stories, identities, etc.
· · ·
On the way to Kaminari's flight, Mayhem and (Y/n) jr. are stopped by All For One, Shigaraki, and several other league members. They all notice that Toga is missing, and Todoroki notices that Shigaraki has Dabi hostage, much like his brother had done to Bakugou years prior.
(Y/n) shows up just in time, but so does Deku (and therefore Risa). Despite his manic state, All For One realizes that this is the perfect time to off both (Y/n) and Deku. He can't catch Deku, so he opts to get Risa instead.
While this is going on, Kaminari and Mina arrive. They evacuate Mayhem, and (Y/n) just manages to get Dabi free so he can go with them. They have to drag Todoroki away from (Y/n).
All For One kills Risa, finding out her name from Deku as he goes mad. (Y/n) takes to opportunity and offs All For One, getting right up on him and screaming into his ear, essentially destroying his brain. Deku, angry about Risa, blames (Y/n). Deku tells him that all of this could have been avoided if he hadn't run off. He, Todoroki, Bakugou, and even Kirishima could have been some of the best heroes out there.
This ends in them fighting, and Deku wins. He gets a good hit on the center of (Y/n)'s chest, right over his hear. It knocks the wind out of him, making him unable to use his quirk. Unknown to Deku, but very known to (Y/n) now, this sets off the MaC. (Y/n) tells Deku this, as well as the fact that he's still under the effect of the false quirk Monoma used. It was so unstable with the blond that it radiated out onto (Y/n) as well.
(Y/n) uses this to let Deky use it to get Mayhem, (Y/n)[jr.], Dabi, and all their other friends out of the vicinity. Deku complies hesitantly but does get everyone onto the small plane that was set to take off. Just as they as Japan starts to become out of view, Todoroki and (Y/n)[jr.] look out the windows behind them. All they can see it dark smoke with hints of orange-red from fires that were triggered.
· · ·
(Y/n) uses the remnant of the false transportation quirk to get the few heroes still around him away. Afterward, he goes back to where All For One is. He slowly lies down on his back next to the man that was once his father, closes his eyes, and blows up along with all the systems connected to the damaged MaC implanted in his heart.
Dr. Yu Takeyama and he partner, once again, have successfully escaped and will continue with their ways. They end up in northern Europe, where they just miss running into Monoma, who has yet to find out where he is.
All For One, (Y/n), Shigaraki, and now the most recent incarnation of their wife/mother are all dead, putting an end to the power they had, could have had, and everything related.

(Epilogue)
The remainder of Mayhem, (Y/n)[jr.], Kaminari, Dabi, and everyone else on the flight eventually lands in Canada. There, they have to learn to cope and find new lives for themselves.
Bakugou and Kirishima decide that they're done with everything that had happened, plan to stay in Canada, get new identities, new lives, and leave their old lives behind.
Kaminari takes the next few months off of hero work, then eventually relocates to and resumes hero work as a new local hero in Montréal. Sero and Mina join Kaminari in his hero work.
Mina soon chooses to move to the United States to make a real name for herself, and she offers to let Todoroki, (Y/n)[jr.], and even Dabi join her until they can get in contact with the rest of the Todoroki family. They take her up on this, ending up on the west coast. The story concludes with a section centered on Todoroki, watching as (Y/n)[jr.] and Mina mess around in the water on one of her off days.
