600 Follower Special (Semi-Canon): "Why Me?"

"Kid." (Y/n) shook the sleeping boy. "kid, wake up. We have plans for today."

"Ten minutes..." the teenager groaned, turning over.

"You said that an hour ago," (Y/n) deadpanned, "now get up before I have Shou freeze you."

"Okay, okay..."

"There we go, kid. Now put your clothes on and come downstairs, there are some people we're gonna go meet."

(Y/n) left the room with the vaguest of fond smiles. He came downstairs to see Kirishima making a protein shake. Bakugou was standing over his shoulder, more or less telling the redhead that he was doing it wrong. Todoroki was drinking coffee, sighing at the loud noise of Bakugou and the blender.

"You still drink those?" (Y/n) asked, eyeing the green liquid.

Kirishima grinned tiredly, still not totally awake. "Not really. This is for (Y/n). Finding one he could actually have was hard, and I wanted to see if he liked it."

"Oh, thanks."

"Still not used to there being two of you?" Todoroki questioned, smirking slightly.

"No. I feel like I'm talking to myself when I call him by his- our? Our name?"

"You might have to get used to it," the thirteen-year-old said, stepping around the older male into the kitchen.

"You have it easy, (Y/n). You don't have to call another person by your name," (Y/n) complained, grumbling it slightly.

"Yeah, yeah... what did you want to do today?"

"Mina managed to arrange for you to meet a couple of others your age that you might like."

"The fact that Aunt Ashido arranged this scares me," he responded, only partly joking.

"Hey (Y/n)s!" Mina said loudly, waving, "Todoroki!"

"Hi Aunt Ashido," the thirteen-year-old greeted.

"Hi." (Y/n) waved back lazily.

"Hey, Mina," Todoroki said.

Mina was quick to hook arms with the teenager, rambling on about some job she had just completed. He didn't seem all too interested, but he humored her nonetheless. Todoroki snickered lightly at the sight. (Y/n) just shook his head half-heartedly.

"Oh, they should be over here, unless they wandered off," Mina stated, murmuring the last part more for herself. "I'm pretty sure you'll like them a lot! You guys will probably find a lot in common!"

"Are you sure? I'm not all that great at making friends..."

"You'll be fine, and look! There they are, just where I left them!" Mina's grin seemed to grow tenfold. "Guys! Come here!"

The two other teens walked up, having a bit of small conversation between themselves. One of them looked nice enough, but the taller of the two reminded the teen of the stories of a younger Bakugou — just quieter, maybe.

"Guys, this is (Y/n) Todoroki!" Mina said, using dramatic arm gestures, "(Y/n), this is Kota Izumi and Eri Aizawa!"

(Y/n) (the older one, standing and half watching the interaction with Todoroki) did a double take, catching Mina's gaze. Mina gave him an apologetic look.

"So, Kota, why don't you and (Y/n) do whatever boys your age do, and I'll send Eri over in a moment!" Mina exclaimed, playfully pushing them away.

"What's wrong?" Eri questioned, looking slightly concerned.

"Nothing's wrong, there's just someone I want you to meet," Mina affirmed, pulling (Y/n) off the bench and from his spot next to Todoroki.

(Y/n) was tense, and the curious look from the girl didn't help. He'd been made aware that she knew exactly who he was, as far as hero and villain business went. That meant she probably already had a bad opinion of him, which made sense. Mine gave him a look, basically telling him that he was on his own for this one. The pink-haired hero just tugged Todoroki away a few feet, giving the two others minimal privacy in the public setting.

"Hi..." Eri greeted shyly.

"Hi." (Y/n) ran a hand through his hair. "So... Eri Aizawa?"

He didn't get an immediate response, and it was really starting to dawn on him how uncalled-for this situation was.

"Well, um, I'm (Y/n)... Aizawa." (Y/n) scratched his neck, averting eye contact.

"Oh." Eri looked away as well, "when did he, you know..."

"I was a first year in high school," (Y/n) answered, "you?"

"I was six." (Y/n) did the math quickly in his head.

"If I had been around longer, we probably would have met already."

"Really?"

"Yeah. He probably took you under his wing only a small while after I... uh... left."

"Wait." Eri seemed to have a moment of realization. "you're the person in the picture that was hung in the living room! You look like him, at least..."

(Y/n) didn't know how to feel about the thoughts running through him.

"Hey, Mister... uh... dad?" the teen called, unsure. They had gotten back to the house a few hours ago, and Todoroki had noticed that he seemed uncomfortable.

"You don't have to force yourself to call me dad, y' know," Todoroki chuckled, "but yeah, what's wrong?"

"Well, when I was talking to Kota and Eri, they were talking about their own adoption stories. The people they lived with before dorming at their middle school didn't really have much choice." he quickly realized how bad that sounded. "not that they aren't happy! But still... you guys didn't have to choose the awkward new teen, so why did you?"

"What do you mean?" Todoroki asked, gesturing (Y/n) (older) over when he entered the room.

"Why didn't you guys adopt a little kid like most people? You'd have more time with them, and nobody actually wants to adopt older kids, especially once they're a teenager," he admitted, "why me?"

(Y/n) contemplated his response for a moment before he got this look on his face. "Why would we adopt a little kid who just cries and wets the bed when we could have a someone who actually understands stuff? Plus, it's kinda like you were named after me, which is definitely something."

"How could I be named after you? My birth parents probably didn't know you, and you're not that much older than me," the teen argued, forgetting his previous unsureness.

"You never know," Todoroki chimed, smiling softly, "I was happy with one (Y/n), but I'm pretty sure now that I was meant to have two."

"Hey, Deku," Eri greeted. Their relationship had been a bit funny since the incident with Aizawa.

"Oh, Eri, how are you?" Deku asked.

"Good. Today I met two (Y/n)s! It was pretty interesting. They were both a little awkward," Eri told him, "they were nice, though! I can't wait to see them again!"

Deku ignored the pang of discomfort he felt.
