9 - It's Been So Long

Yuta had used Nari's shoulder as support for quite some time. The two silently stayed still, only sighs and hums muttered to each other. Looking at the time, Nari noticed how she had to go for her classes.

"Yuta, I need to go now," softly saying, it made the lad move his head away and lifting the weight off her shoulders.

"I don't know what I should say to make you wash away what you're feeling. I can say but I don't think it would be the right one because I've never faced what you just had," she sighed, a bit dejected with herself for not being able to help.

"Try to push it away and see it from another light. It might have been a way for you to see the world in a bigger perspective because things like that happen every day and ultimately, no one can run from it," moving her head, she looked straight into his eyes.

Yuta nodded, absorbing her words. "I really need to go now, if it would make you feel better, I'll stop by after I'm done with classes for the day," she said and Yuta again, nodded, signing he would want to see her again.

Hurriedly heading out the shop, she disappeared from sight. Not long after, the other guys arrived. Greeted with a blankly staring, not chatterbox Yuta, they calmly got together and slowly made small talk with him.

After hearing what he saw on his way to the shop, they all gave words of encouragement with Taeil using his infamous shoulder pat, which did help place a timid smile on Yuta's face.

The day went by normally, with only Yuta, a bit out of it all. His mind still wandering, floating thoughts that didn't know when to fall to the ground.

"Wow, you guys weren't joking about wanting to make this the best shop in the district," a familiar voice heard as the person stood in front of the display case.

"It's been so long!" Johnny shouted as he threw the towel he was holding to the ground and ran to the person.

"Hansol! We didn't know you were back in town!!" another shriek heard across the shop, which thankfully had only a handful of customers.

The very enthusiastic Johnny didn't hesitate to lift up the lad, probably his adrenaline flowing at rapid speed to have a short moment of superhuman strength.

As soon as he was let down, Hansol eyes looked around for Yuta. His gaze met with Yuta, who forcefully carved on a smile. Knowing so well, he knew his best friend was feeling down. Tilting his head to the tables, he asked whether Yuta would want to sit down together and talk about it.

Rubbing his wet hands against his apron, Yuta walked from behind the counter and took a seat. The others, who were still excited to greet Hansol decided to catch up with their favourite hard working, famous choreographer later.

Mouthing out a thank you, Hansol took a seat across from Yuta, looking at his friend who apparently lost his healing smile, "Did something happen?" Humming as a reply, Yuta took his time before opening up on the accident.

Just like a key turning open a door, with just a question Yuta managed to barf out all the emotions he felt to Hansol. The thought to be a short talk ended up with the two talking for hours and not even moving from their seats despite the rushing customers crowding the shop at lunch hour.

"I know the two of you want to bond, but Yuta, give others a chance would you?" Taeyong said sarcastically as Yuta was laughing, hearing Hansol telling him his latest embarrassing moment.

"Okay okay. You guys are just jealous," rolling his eyes at how Taeyong failed to act angry, he stood up from his seat. Letting out a laugh, he smiled before resuming his job with the playful joyful Yuta making a return.

The boys took turns to have a chat with Hansol, with Johnny being the only one in the right mind to serve Hansol something to drink and eat. The guy would probably be dried out of his saliva talking nonstop with all of them.

Evening came and the time for Hansol to head back to his work arrived. All of them felt as if they were ripped off their time, having felt as it was only a few minutes that they spent with Hansol.

Before the lad could make his way to the door, Yuta brought out a box filled with Hansol's favourite pastries and a cup of coffee. Handing it to him, Hansol accepted with a very, very bright smile.

"I'll stop by again soon. It's been so nice to catch up with you guys again. Will definitely miss you guys," Hansol bid them goodbye. Yuta, being a bit emotional to parting with his bestfriend, hugged the nearest person to him, Doyoung. For fun, Doyoung shaped out half a heart with his hand, to show how Hansol's leaving, left Yuta's heart to only be in half.

"There there, he'll surely come by again, not go to work," pushing Yuta away, Doyoung stuck his tongue out to Yuta before heading back to the kitchen, where he needed to make sure Ten won't end up dumping all the ingredients and end up messing up the recipe.

"He would surely come, I believe in that. Plus, he would want to check up on you after hearing how his bestfriend got shocked," Nari's voiced made Yuta snap his head in a split second to see her having a hand supporting her chin as if she was enjoying a drama with front row seats.

"When did you get here?" he asked, taken aback how she just showed up like those scare jumps in horror movies.

"I finished classes early and when I arrived, you guys were having such a happy bonding moment, didn't want to intervene, that would just be plain rude of me," her hand gesturing in circles as she talked.

"I'm just happy you're all better," pushing her seat back, she went up to the counter to finally get her drink, after sitting silently watching them together with Hansol for an hour. Also, totally eavesdropping and getting laughs from their stories.

The moment she stepped in front of the counter, people came into the store and made a queue behind her. "You should come here every day, you somehow bring such luck, just look at how people are coming in only with you standing there," Yuta pointed towards the line as soon as he got to the cash register.

"So, what would you like, Nari?" inquiring as he watched Nari gave him an unamused expression from his statement. "Taeyong's recommendation would be nice, he told he I'll get a free drink today," her reply made Jaehyun pop his head from behind the coffee machine.

"Taeyong said what?" Jaehyun questioned in a low tone before letting out a laugh as he made out why Taeyong decided to give Nari such an offer.

Putting his fingers into a fist except for his index finger, Yuta mouth out 'one second' as he found his way to the kitchen to get answers from Taeyong. Barely half a minute gone, Yuta made his way back to serve Nari.

Looking at the screen of the cash register, he tapped on an option of beverage available without making it known to Nari. "Just pick up your secret drink in a bit," looking up to Nari, his eyes caught a face that made him quickly hid under the counter.

"Nari, would you please help to serve the Japanese woman behind you?" Yuta said in a slow, but still audible tone.

"You have Jaehyun to help you. What is up with you guys wanting me to be the cashier here? I don't think I'm the barista here," her facial muscles tensed as she pulled out a very questioning look. "And how do you even know she's Japanese?"

"That's Yukimura Natsuno. My first love," replying, Yuta made Jaehyun stop his attempt to drink.

"And I don't want the other guys to do it. They would totally do something fishy, I don't trust them," eyeing the other guys, who obviously heard his words despite the pretty noisy store.

"Must I really..."
